Hey ya'll...just a quickie, as I head on out to the links...this is a beeeuuutiiifullll day. ..egads, and THIS is why we moved here... Some great college football games today...and here we go... Alabama and LSU. ..something's got to give... Florida St and Clemson ...hmmm, number 1?...look for an upset... TCU and Oklahoma St ...shootout...and a fun one to watch...the Horned Frogs are tuff... Mich St and Nebraska ...eek, Riley in another smash...er, getting smashed... Navy and Memphis ...the Middies with one loss versus the unbeaten... Cal and Oregon ...Ducks fav by 4...only?... Those are my top 6... Watched some hoops last eve...the GS Warriors are a rolling...their 2nd unit is suspect...the flaw!...oh well, I got the NBA League Pass...and thus, I have all the games I want to see...basketball junkie...and get this...the Lake Show got a W!...number one...at the expense of the other team that is winless, the awful Nets of Brooklyn...BTW, bad...very bad...very very...

Morning all...we get back into politics today...well now, at least the process of it... the voting ...here's where it gets tricky...and I'm going to try to connect the dots...to the methods used in the places that are determined by "votes"...ie, the TV world, the sports world, the motion picture world, and of course, the political world... The Repubs just announced who would be in the varsity event and who would be in the JV in next week's debates... FOX and the Wall St Journal claim the version that will be used...and their update listed who was where...determined by a combination of 4 latest national polls. ..try like I may, I am not able to find which ones they are using...I guess they are in the trust me mode ...and the two blokes bumped to the JV bunch?... Huckabee and Christie  (pictured).... Have you ever been part of a national poll?...who has this honor?...it is as ambiguous as any voting scheme there is...and these polls can have as few as one hund...

The recap of the CMA's ...good stuff...in fact, I even passed on the Clips/Warriors game to watch it...hmmm... I often query as to who, what, and why some people win these awards ...and get left bewildered...always when it comes to Miranda Lambert...the most over-rated performer of all the women ....sorry, bub, but it's true... I can't figure out why the likes of Sara Evans, Faith Hill, and Martina McBride aren't invited and included in these nominations... these gals can SING ...many of the ones honored are not even close in comparison...so says me...well, let's get on with it... Carrie and Brad did a great job hosting...their monologue was a "B" ...they have had better...but they kept the show moving...and were pros...BTW, she is the exception to the above mentioned newbies... she also can sing like the vets... Chris Stapleton was the surprise...big time ...I have never heard of him, or heard him before last night...really?...me, the country bum...

This is the one, and only one of these awards thingers that I LIKE! ...the hosts are great and it's a fun time...of course, you have to like country music...but, even if you don't...turn in for the monologue... Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood ...it's THAT good and funny... Country Music Awards ...I think it's on ABC...8 pm... The Lake Show ...oh my...you know, I said that PDX was going to be the last team in the league, er in the west...in my fearless predictions...fuggit about it... the Blazers play hard and have some decent pieces ...the Lakers?...not so much...and Kobe?...I look for him to retire in the month...they are awful... We had a torrential downpour last eve... thunder and lightning throughout the nite...very unique for here...and put todays' golf T in jeopardy...don't depart til 10:45...so, should hear one way or the other by then...save me a 30 minute trip...I think it will be on...but, a lot of blokes don't play in the bad weather aro...

Morning, kids...we have weather here in SoCal!...like the wet stuff!...now, I know that's not huge news for some of you...but here, it is needed...and kept me off the course for today...no problem, I have a T tomorrow...one of them scramble thingers...I think the only one of the season out at Sycuan...and get this...major SNOW in the mountains... Not sure what happened, but the Washington Nats changed their minds...and did not hire Buddy Black as rumored...for some time...and instead, went with the old Cincy ( amongst others) manager, Dusty Baker ...highly questionable pick...not a fan...and MLB does what so many do, rehab the fired blokes... The Clips ... Blake Griffin is one of the top 5 players in the league...he has worked mega on his outside shot...and it's paid off...he now has the entire package...and on the other hand, the PG Paul is nowhere close to his ability as to his own thoughts...he can't hit the big shot...and is not very quick...still...an impro...

After the busy Halloween weekend, it's time to settle in to the real calm before the storm...this is officially the pre-season for the Holidays ...all of them... Kansas City wins the World Series in 5...as I said yesterday, they were a lock...still in shock over their  starters which included 2 of our rejects...go figure...and the mess the Mets made in their fielding ...at all levels, kids, pressure gets to you...and it sure did to NY...and the Royals were there to cash in...and win it all...good on them...BTW, what manager doesn't hear from his pitching stud that he can finish the job?... "don't take me out!" ...damned if you do, damned if you don't... The plane that went down in the middle east...the Russian one ...you know which one...anyway...the experts are saying that external forces took it down ...they are saying everything but, that it was shot down...nobody is flying in that area now...duh... News out of Cocoa Beach, Florida ...you know, wh...

The Breeder's Cup finished up in Keeneland ...as the historic last race with the Breeder's Cup Mile which was won by...you got it, the Triple Crown Winner...and SoCal's own, American Pharaoh! ...let there be no doubt the outcome... galloping home with an easy and quite convincing W ...the horse of the decade...maybe longer... I hit it with a double...well...a number of times...and it paid quite nicely...so this event moves our way next year...right here at DelMar ...I hope I can get the Saturday version of it...I mean, to be in the stands...we'll see... The Halloween nite was fun...galavanting about the area...on 5th and 4th mostly...and did I say ghostly?... I forgot to eat much , and am paying for it this morning...booo... Football ...you see the crazy end to the Miami/Duke one?...8 laterals as the clock ran out...and Miami pulled the trick...and got the W...a coach's nightmare... Stanford in a thriller over WSU ...the league's surprise this season...t...
