It is a sad commentary to see the demise of the Pads. One thing is to under perform but another thing to trade away your quality guys. Yes, The Towers group is trying to unload their premiere player, Jake Peavy. Towers quote in the paper is that the trade talks would not be underway if Jake didn't want them. BS. Towers is an egotist that figures he can make this team his in his own way. Let's see what he has done. He has brought in a new CF, Edmonds...Oops not the right guy, he's gone. A new pitcher, Wulf...Oops he's gone. A new C, Barrett, oops he's gone. It goes on and on. The park needs speed and line drive hitters. He has brought in none. It needs quality pitchers. He's trying to get rid of the best one in the league. OMG get RID OF TOWERS!

Like I said yesterday I am not going to watch the debate tonight. McCain has chosen to attack Obama in his last chance to humiliate his opponent. Desperate measures for desperate times. The Pads are making noise about trading their only bonafide all-star pitcher, Jake Peavy. The issue should be FIRE TOWERS and get a normal GM. The Chargers play a scary Buffalo Bill team this Sunday. The Bills are coming off their bye week and shall help them. Their QB, Edwards, was knocked out in his last game against Ariz. Watch the line...today it is 1 1/2 for the Bolts. For those who need their NBA fix, Sebastian Telfair, was suspended again for carrying a loaded gun in his car...in Boston. OMG...he is now with the Timberwolves. Sad situation...former member of the Portland Jailblazers. The Trailblazers have righted their ship and have quality guys on their team. Hint...a good GM! The Rays are for real...pounding the Sox for 13 runs. Dodgers are in a must win situation today.

And then there was the Browns rout of the Giants. NFL, go figure... The Phillies are a step closer with their timely taters versus the Dodgers. It seems like Matt Stairs has been playing forever. By the way, didn't Victorino once play for the Pads? Was this another Towers move? The Sox have their backs to the green wall and have to come out swinging. Talk about the most bogus of all days off... Who in the world was that Chargers group? What a fantastic effort by the Bolts! They got the Pats on the run and blitzed often. Rivers had his best day of the season. Brings them back to 3-3 and in the hunt. Good on them. You can not bet on the NFL. Houston over Miami, Ariz over Dallas, and my oh my, the Rams over the Skins, are the biggest upsets. 6 out of 10 for my pix. Happy I missed the SD one, but the Phil/SF game a lot closer than the score was. Try it, pick out 10 games, write it down, and see where you line up. LA held court with their victory over the Phils. Didn't watch much of it due to the SD game. Big turn around for the stocks today. Why? Don't really care as long as it keeps going up, up, up... I'm just saying...

So far I have 5 out of 7 pix right. NC big win over ND, but the officiating a confusing bunch. Penn St is for real. SDS is a sorry lot that will implode. The Beavs are a sleeper team. Watch out for them the rest of the year. The Gators have a lot of weapons. Did not pick Texas/Okla game. Watched that game the entire way. Both teams real good. 2 of the top 5 for sure. Tampa Rays a real gutty win over the Sox in extra innings. I knew if the Sox had to go to Timlin they would lose. Put up or shut up for the Dodgers tonite. I really think that the Chargers have more than they show. We'll see. I still pick the Pats but so hope I'm wrong. The defense is the key. The bolts sit in coverage way too much. Finally, there is talk that Towers is entertaining trade talks for Peavy. OMG this fool is thinking of trading the franchise player. Why isn't this Towers guy fired?
