One of the most significant things that happened in my collegiate days...as I was developing my political roots...? ...was the night that Robert Kennedy was taken from this earth by an assassin ... devastating for me ...as I had high hopes for him, during this electrically charged Vietnam era...which is a whole other story, but not for now... the killer, Sirhan Sirhan, was originally set for execution ...but the state of Cali abolished that notion...and locked him up for good...ah, wait, perhaps not... Parole...this is the debate point ...when someone has been sentenced to death...and now can actually be freed after many years of incarceration ...does that seem appropriate to you?... the 2nd debatable point...does a person actually get rehabilitated in prison? ...is this a political issue?...or a self rights one?... Regardless, Sirhan will be set free...as a parolee ...as long as there are no more 'roadblocks' that come up...and, I'm sure the questions will surge...how do...

Are there answers? ... this ongoing mess of diplomacy in the uncontainable country of Afghanistan ....2 factions are there to fight it out... the Taliban and ISIS ...whatever...as we get, or try to get, our people and the helpers OUT of that situation...a few days ago, I guaranteed to my readers...that we would strike them again ...for a myriad of reasons...we already have a couple... The loss of humanity by suicide bombers ...as the people want and wait to get to the Kabul airport... their God must be different ...as the lack of care for those who live in the now...just don't get it...and never will...they seemingly don't have empathy for people who differ from them...thus, do away with them...is that the word of the Lord?...theirs?... I guess this is why we have wars ... Back in the day... 40 years ago...our boy ...as HIS boy went to his FIRST pre-school yesterday.... where has the time gone? ... BREAKING...explosion outside of Kabul airport...and NOW the war is back on!!! To be completely candid, we had to cancel our trip to Maine ... due to the ongoing strife of the Covid...perhaps, Variant. ..I dunno...or the lack of availability of the booster shot prior to us boarding a plane ... FOUR TIMES ... if half of the population is NOT vaccinated, it seems to be a poor bet to fly. ..how long does the Moderna last?...it's too bad, cuz we really wanted to go...to be with friends in an area where we have never been...hopefully, next year... Speaking of bets...in the open air , we go to Del Mar...race track today ...our only jaunt out to the park...this season...and yes, we have put our masks everywhere...man, this is a very unsettling time of life...right?... Is it deja vu all over again? ...the classic response to failure in the San Diego Padre system ...the BLAME GAME! ...over the past 15 seasons, that the Horse has followed the franchise...when the wins become harder and harder to get... the axe has fallen on the coaches, not the manager, nor the GM ...usually the first to go is the hitting coach...OMG!...however, this time around, it is the pitching coach ... 'a new voice needs to be heard' ....I have repeatedly said this, that the coaches can only work with what they have been saddled with... thrice, this GM has changed direction in how he has put players on the field ...BUT, listen kids...the latest scheme is to put offensive guys out there...OK, at the expense of having quality pitchers...somehow, the brass thinks that changing pitching coaches is gonna make them pitch better?...bah humbug...you KNOW where I am going with this... this GM has had ample time to do his thing...it has not worked...and it is time for HIM to go.....

Gotcha! ...my mind weaves in mysterious ways, kids...I was reading my 23 sources this am...and felt like it was all hopeless...helpless...out of our hands ...and I swear to you on my last hole in one...that it came from the back part of me brain... SUFFERIN' SUCCOTASH! ...ah, what?...yea, sure... from my very early teevee watching of cartoons ... Sylvester the Cat ... Merry Melodies ...remember this?...real name?... Sylvester James Pussycat, Sr ...it is true... Looney Tunes ...and succotash? ...just an awful combo of lima beans (who likes these ever?) and corn...in some form of mixed up stewish thing ...along with corned beef, salt pork, tomatoes, and okra... if eaten, you will suffer... Sufferin', the lack of play by the floundering Padres ...miserable pitching, and now coupled with the lack of hitting...can't watch it, and turn to anything else... I posted this last eve at the Smokey Robinson Concert over at the bay... 'Smokey in San Diego'. ..little did I think of it as another meaning...as Wild Bill Chapman, responded 'it is smoky everywhere' ...right...ah, got it...well, definitely the case up and down the west coast...BUT, I was referring to the one and only...man, he can still sing... Ooh Baby Baby ...actually had to debate with a bloke who said he never sang that song...to be fair, he didn't deserve to be in attendance... Our seats were back a bit...but, really, there are NO BAD SEATS in this new venue...and the sound is terrific...food is an issue, you must order ahead of time...but, the refreshments?...all over the place...I'm still looking for the new Mt. Dew hard stuff...and there are ushers everywhere to help you find your way...all in all, a rousing A+ ...we have Brian Wilson there in a week or so...this time closer, and at a table...
