Here we are, 2024...and for all youse out there...we are now in the Leap Year...yup, the 29th of February ...once every 4 years, this day emerges...on your and my, calendar...there are a boatload of calendars that are mentioning the need for the extra day...over the norm 365 of 'em...here some are...the Julian, Gregorian, Baha'i, Bengali, Hebrew, and of course, the Chinese Calendar...all necessitating that extra day...this extra day...in truth, the 366th day was added to keep the calendar synchronized with the astronomical year...OMG, something like that...so when did this start?...acc to some, by Julius Caesar in 46 BC...others, using the Gregorian calendar, in 1582... whatever...seems so bogus to me...and ask that of all the people who were born on February 29... Back in the days...when I first was driving...don't try to figure the year out, kids...let's just say I was still in high school...I was at the mercy of my dad, to get the wheels that I drove ...duh...and he brought home a '57 black...Ford...4 door. ..it was what it was...I was happy to get ANYTHING...I would take my mom to work in the am, and then go to school...she was one of those, who had never ever driven...not sure why, but just didn't...then, it was my cruisemobile...man, I always cherished the other one... that '57 Chevy...my dream?...the candy apple one ...never got it...in fact, as I went off to college, got a '56 Olds...which really was a rad machine...the car, I wish I could have hung on to...nostalgia... You know I always thought by the age of 57 I would have snagged the Chevy...that year has gone and passed...like many of them... For you who live downtown San Diego, or those of you who have visited the city (town?)...one thing you will notice this week...the tents are gone...we all feel safer...and do not know what transpired...election time?...or, just enforcing the laws that are already there...not sure...nobody is talking about the why's...but, it sure is a pleasant site...walkable sidewalks...no trash strewn about...you KNOW what I am talking about...is it a problem in your city?...not sure how long it will last, but it is awesome while it lasts...here is a pix of where the tents should go...
