Tried to watch and listen to last night's Pad/Giants game...oh my...the commentators spent a goodly portion of it, discussing the reasons for the bad 1st half record of the...get this...GIANTS!...as they methodically whupped the home team...and...they should be realistic about the Pads...so badly pieced together by the awful GM...and...the struggles of the one time all star, Wil Myers...whose plate appearances are in the below the mendoza line efforts...

Did you see the latest crap coming out of Paul Ryan's boca?...he has and or is...trying to put forth a dress code for the ladies in Congress...what?...what, are we back in the 50's?...no open shoulders in the work place...more like this...the LPGA has endorsed a new one of the their own...a dress code...I call it the Wie Factor...what she wears badgers the heck out of the conservative vets...

Amelia Earhart

Morning, kids!...you write much?...there is a lot of ways to say things in a sentence...depending on where the comma is put...without the comma in 'Morning kids'... may refer to the fact that I am talking about the type of kids you are, in lieu of 'evening kids'...sure, you get it...so, the Horse not only writes in the 3rd person, but not in sentences either...this way, you can badger me about my grammatical misgivings all you want...and Jimmy Crack Corn, I don't care...what?...

Oh my...we watched the History Channel's Amelia Earhart Show last eve...how the 'investigative crew' dug into private files, kept by our government in yet another, coverup...and unleashed on the pixel world...'The Picture'...that the US had in safe keeping that showed Amelia and her navigator...after the alleged 'lost at sea' report was made...hmmm...

1937...a strange time to be flying about the world, right?...the World was into the cold war era...just before Germany attacked anyone they felt they wanted to...and Japan already had started...and...the news reports were sketchy at best...of course, there was no TV...so...what we got was radio info...duh...

The story is that she did land on an island...safely...however, it was 'owned', er captured...by the Japanese...and thus...Earhart and her nav guy, were taken in to custody...this is where it got interesting...they have eye witness accounts of the two...alive...and that they actually met their demise via the prison camp...in, well...that's all I'm giving you...find it 'On Demand', pop a cold one, and see and judge for yourself...

The Judge

Hey now, that was kind of cool...the Home Run Derby...at least this year's version...where the hitters were put on the clock...4 minutes to hit out as many as the body could...different from the 10 outs, that stopped the dingers...that's a lot of swings in a short period of time...taxing?...you bet...

Aaron Judge was the clear winner...his 1st round match with the home town dude, Jason Bour...was epic...the compact lefty hit 21 out...so when it was the Judges turn...that had to be near impossible to beat...not so for him...just seems to pop off his bat...everywhere!...listen kids, he is the REAL deal...

I'm not a fan of enclosed stadiums...the Marlins one, no diff...the game is and should be played outside...the summer thinger...however, MLB and their new playgrounds now have retractable roofs...as does this Florida one...as you could see the lighting bolts hit outside of it...I guess they had no option...ha ha...I give this production an 'A'...even without Chris Berman doing the announcing...back back back...

Home Run Derby

Now, this dinger party started back when I was but a mere lad...featured the 'heroes' of that era...including my fav, Rocky Colavito...it was an ongoing show, that had all of 'em in a match situation...much like MLB is doing tonight...except it took like a month or so, to show them all...Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, Harmon Killebrew...the list went on and on...nobody turned it down...and featured interviews of the players, as their opponent crushed the ball...it was fun...

OK, NOW...it is a diff thinger...more of an extravaganza...the featured bangers are there...the Judge kid from the Yankees and the Marlin's Stanton (last year's champ)...seems to me, that they change the format every year...oh well, it's decent TV and that's all that MLB wants...

The original 'Home Run Derby' was so long ago...that is was filmed and shown in black and white...ha ha...now everything is in color and high definition...not sure if the blokes even heard of pixels back then...

Speaking of black and white...did you ever see the special that Roy Orbison did in that format?...back when he was still with us...featured a bunch of 'stars' that played along with him...Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, K.D. Lang, amongst others...'Pretty Woman'...

Another golfing rule drama...on the Euro tour...the winner, the phenom from Spain, Jon Rahm, won by 6 strokes...but...was embroiled in yet another mismarking of the ball on the green situation...this time, no harm, no foul...play on...way diff from the fiasco in the LPGA, where they dinged the gal 4 strokes...this marking of the ball is all so imperfect...oh yea, the dude from the Golf Channel, Brandle Chamblee, is furious...'penalize him!'...

On this side of the pond...at the Greenbrier...in West Virginny...the eventual winner was a kid from San Diego...went to SDSU...and none of the 'experts' even mentioned him...as late as when he drilled a winning shot on 18, they weren't...ha ha...Xander Schauffele...who has been playing well all month...of course, they will call him the 'X' man...

We are still in limbo about where to go on this year's anniversary...have you ever done one of them 'all inclusive' stays?...is it real?...man, it's hard to beat the retreat we have done for the past 14 years...to Maui...stayed in the same spot...hmmm...

The golf club (not sticks) industry...many of the courses throughout the country are owned and operated by a source that you are unaware of...ClubCorp is one of them...many peops are saying that the trend is...fewer peops are playing and JOINING these clubs...so...their well being is in jeopardy...and...that company sold out to Apollo...and if you are not a bit scared...take a look around at golf courses that are closing down...and houses are being built where the course USED to be...I'm just saying...

Not a scientific study, but an observation...the other day, I was a gifted limo driver for my real estate wife...had a wait of about 30 minutes at one of the stops...and noticed this...70% of the cars that passed by me...were either Uber, Lyft, or Taxis...and the Uber, Lyfts were double the amount of taxis...oh yea, had to cancel me golf to do the honey-do...did NOT tell the boys the reason for canceling...well, she makes money and I'm on a fixed income...no brainer...
