When on the road, the DVD can be quite handy...we have the entire set of the 80’s show, The Winds of War...starring amongst many others, Robert Mitchum...who is one of my all time favs...the haunting part of this, is how it has some semblance to the Putin War...it was set in 1939...before the US got involved...how Poland was getting torn to shreds...the people fleeing for their lives...which made it even worse, was the underlying element of Hitlers desire to rid his regions of the Jewish people... How any one man can do this to others is beyond comprehension...and shall be eliminated himself from this world...how can leaders get this power, and the following?...be strong all, be aware, and be smart... Moving on As we are...up to Montecito and Santa Barbara...to camp and visit the kids...the ultimate landing spot for this quest...my how Cyrus is growing... Did see that Gore pitched, and well for the Padres...yet, SD suffered the L...5-2...he departed as the score was knotted at 2 all......

Morning, kids...day 1 of the Cosmo trip...just a quaint little getaway in Encinitas...a coastal town in Cali....about 35 minutes north of San Diego...the day was gorgeous, not too hot, and certainly not cold...man, I got some awesome pix...one in particular was at sunset...which I will blow up and canvas it... The site is right on the ocean, albeit on a cliff...thus, terrific views...today we ride...biking it...as we vacay...right a vacay from a vacay...don’t hate us...later on, a fire and some s’mores...cool?...yea... How about opening day for the Padres!...a 12-1 stomp over Atlanta...tonight the long awaited start of McKenzie Gore...as the SP...one game at a time, y’all... Today MLB honors Jackie Robinson...the breaker of minority playing in the league...as all players are to wear his number, 42.... Who is James Harden kidding?...the Beard...nothing to prove?.... Competition...when one side is clearly the winner in some form of a match ... whether one is so much better than the other, or one team is having a real bad day, or a lead is insurmountable for some reason ... it happens ...along with the impending doom, is the idea of not 'pouring it on' ...a class act by the winning team...that sometimes is not carried out, as so...these are UNWRITTEN RULES ...some people, er coaches, just don't get it... happened to me, and I VOWED, given the chance, I would return the favor...had the chance, and I couldn't do it ...of course, I forever despised the bloke...despise, is more accurate... You have seen it happen, unfortunately all the time ...have seen it in hoops, where some team is up by 80+ and still has their starters in...same in football , when one squad is 6 TD's up and still has their 1st string in...happened in beisbol in SF the other nite...as the Giants were cursing (ha ha, meant cruising) over the Padres...up, 10 nil ...

When the days of traveling for long periods of time...we all were in it together...the fam ...who didn't play 20 QUESTIONS ?... is it animal, vegetable, or mineral? ...sure, it seemed like fun then...back then...when things were so much simpler...nowadays, everyone in the rig, is on their tele, computer, or snuggled up listening to tunes via the headphones....er, ear buds...whatever...and oh my gosh, to think that anyone would dig up conversations...is out of their minds... Well, we are about to hit the road via Cosmo ... we talk, we dance (not), and we listen to XM's 60's Gold...we cuss at the bombastic drivers...we gripe about the high cost of everything, especially the petrol...we do use regular and do get about 17 mpg...which is great for a RV...we are on the way to grandma's house...ah, no, to Montecito, for the kids time with us... Throwaway games ...don't understand 'em... as the Padres had one last eve in San Francisco ...our starting pitcher, YU, was ou...

BREAKING NEWS! ... not to simplify what that USED to mean...it was something tragic that happened...almost always on the tele screen ...when the present show was interrupted...by that awful message...and a TV announcer would emerge and give us all the sad release...rarely, it was a positive one...there was a shooting, a death, a disaster, a_____, whatever, that gave most of us...chills... Now, not so much...as so many people depend on their computer, cell phone, you know, the web net to give them info ...and the BREAKING NEWS is not as dramatic as it once was...it covers all angles nowadays...most of the NEWS (?) is not that big a deal...it is just BREAKING...ha ha...I will say this, if it does happen on the tele, it is usually the former...except on CNN, which leads with the 2 words much too often, de-energizing what they meant in the past... OK, there has been BREAKING NEWS ... a mass shooting in NYC at a subway stop ...what is real, is that at least 13 people have been shot...there...

What a couple of months for the Masters winner... Scotty Scheffler! ...winning how many T's?...4?...and now, the world number 1...for every fall back, he recovered marvelously...with dynamic wedge shots...it was a pleasure to watch...is this the new DOMINANT ONE in golf?... The Padres erupted for TEN runs in the finale in Arizona...even with the starter scratched for us, we had the hitting sticks a moving...so it didn't matter much...figure that paves the way to get our long awaited rookie to finally pitch in the bigs, McKenzie Gore...probably late this week...maybe...just guessing... Did you see that England's Boris Johnson visited Ukraine? ...let there be a lesson for ya'll, kids...the world is resisting Putin...just another example of... Idol ...did not see anyone that even resembled a can't miss star in the making last nite...in fact, they were as average as they can be...sorry, folks...well, another batch tonight...we shall see... The demise of the LaLa Lakers...

As I have been saying all week, there is no better golf tournament than the one going on right now...at the Masters ...the prized trophy of all time...you win, and you are etched in the history of the game...way, way cool...hallowed grounds...takes a win and some wonderful past play in the T...to even get into the field...this year?... the young guns are carving their names out...as the ones to catch on day 4 ... Scottie Scheffler (USA) , Cam Smith (Australia) , Sungjae Im (South Korea) , Shane Lowery (Ireland) , the leaders...also, as I have been telling the locals, that the one that has the greatest chance is probably Cam Smith...as he is an extraordinary putter of the rock...but, c'mon, USA USA USA ... Tiger had one of the more woeful days in his stay at Augusta...he was even confused as to his score...ha ha...in an interview after the round... couldn't putt (join the club) ... man, with the way he walks, it is amazing he is out there trying ...and for the crowning glory, hi...
