It's time I devote some of this blog to the Portland Trailblazers .... the overachieving team out of the great PNW...or, a re they that? ...let's break them down...returning to the fold are 4 of the starters from last season...LA, Batum, Mathews , and their much improved PG, Lillard...they added a veteran C in the twin kid from Stanford, Robin Lopez...and the shooter guy for the bench in Mo Williams...some decent drafts and there you have it...so why?...why are they better?... As I have told all the folks that will listen... they have ALL the parts ...the shooters, the defenders, the unselfish play...well, LA stretches that point...and a decent bench...Lillard leads the league in made 3 pointers...Batum guards the best that the opponent has...LA does the clutch shooting... Mathews is as deadly as any from downtown ...and Lopez gives them the right to do so... Fast, fun, fairly imaginative ...that's their mantra...don't rely on the stupid pick and roll for their ...

And the school shootings go on and on ....this time in New Mexico ...at a middle school...as terrified kids and staff... hide, run, dodge, CONFRONT , and basically deal with yet another one of these events ...the assailant hid his sawed off shotgun in a musical case...and then used it to terrorize the school...I don't know...these actions strike fear in any system...but more so where the students congregate... usually, and I mean usually, the thought was that the school was the safe haven from the real world ...NOW...it is more so a battleground than outside of it...no training will ever completely stop the actions...but will help...somewhere along the line, if you have birthed a baby, you must be held accountable for their actions...maybe, this is a step... One thing is to make it very difficult to buy and own a weapon ...there must be tighter rules and laws on this...I still have no idea how this country can allow rapid fire guns anywhere...please explain that to me...anyone?...

Performance enhancing drugs ...there are a whole gaggle of them out there...and there are ways of administering them...and there are ways to avoid being detected as being a user...and then the player gets caught...and in MLB, they deal with it...harshly...well, this has been going on now for some 5 to 8 years...the shame of it all...and the ordeal of it all...the ongoing superstar Alex Rodriguez , known as ARod , has had the biggest fallout ....here is the deal...the supplier sings...and the player is undressed... So... ARod says he has tested like a dozen times and has never failed the drug test ...of course, he is taught how to do so...and the supplier releases his data ...about how, when, and where he did so to and for Arod... MLB buys it and bans the player for a year ...ha ha...should be longer... On 60 Minutes , the supplier tells all...and the reasoning is somewhat logical...the player says... the pitcher is using, the fielder is using, everyone is using...and so must I ......

And you get fried by the media...not by Crazy Horse ...as the Trib had a field day on the loss by the Bolts in Denver...really questioned the play calling by the soon to be departed O Coordinator, Ken Whisenhunt ....the beef is that he had a dog collar on the QB Rivers ...and choked him up...and finally, let him pass his way back into the game in the 4th Q... have to admit, the color announcer and expert analyst, Phil Simms, was saying that a lot earlier in the game ...mostly cuz the star RB was hurting and couldn't play...anyway...if the Chargers could have had a better D plan, it would be a different blog today ...you see, that's the way it is in sport... you win, you are a genius ... you lose, and you are a dog ... This blogster picked all 4 games right ...I suppose you didn't notice...and was pretty much right on with the spreads, too....I am so smart.... never, ever bet on the NFL...
