Game Day

I admit it, I am more than a casual fan, when it comes to collegiate football...I lurve the pageantry of it all...the pomp and circumstance...geez, I have no idear what that means...the life of the schools that seemingly come alive...the colors, the exuberance, the loyalty....for not only the students, the faculty, the alumni, but the fans in general...and it's throughout the Nation, kids...

I'm a bit miffed that the inaugural game for the University of Oregon is being played at a neutral site...with the Auburn Tigers, who, too, lose a chance at a home game...boooo...it's being played at Jerry Jones' Stadium in Arlington, Texas...for you who have followed me like forever, I am NOT a fan of it...whoever designed the place, must have been on something...the home of the once America's team, the Dallas Cowboys...hmmm, the place is much much closer to Alabama, so, figure the crowd will be mostly Auburn...

The betting line has been eerily stable at 3 1/2 favoring the Tigers...so be it...as much is riding on the matchup for both schools...and I do think it is the premier game of the weekend for college football...anyhoo, I will don my finest Duck stuff today, and cheer on a big WIN!...hopefully...just read a bit more....from a self proclaimed expert on all the games...really...he says that the massive line difference of Auburn + the fact that the Head Coach is back calling the plays...spells DOOM for the Ducks...Tip off at 4:30 on ABC...BREAKING...the line has risen to FOUR...

Over at the Q, yes, it actually still stands...SDSU hosts Weber St...the Trib has been covering the Aztecs really well...and I think that this team just might be the real deal in the Mountain...like, we have mountains here...so much depends on the QB in the system that is run...last year, wasn't very good...

Beaver Nation was alive last nite in Corvallis, Oregon...as they got kicked around pretty good by another OSU, ah, Oklahoma St...who are, more talented...there were many bright spots for the home OSU...offense and their special WR looked mighty fine, at times...however, the defense was...atrocious!...maybe, just maybe, the visiting OSU is really good...hmmm, didn't I say this same thing last season?...I did make mention to a very annoying thing that the home loudspeaker does at their games...when it is 3rd down, they play this noise...sounded like a cow...was informed it is a chainsaw...whatever, get rid of it...ah, one more...2/3rds into the 3rd stanza, the student section of the Beavs, was near EMPTY!...

Shifting over to the mighty Padres...up against the Giants and Madbum...eww...were in it, until lil Mgr Green trots out lefty Erlin...who got hammered and the game was over...why oh why, he is still in the bigs, defies moi...ah, either one of them...stop it, Horse...

And for the rest of the world...

That Atlantic hurricane, Dorian, is on the move to the eastern coast...mandatory evacuation for Cocoa Beach, so I have learned...the experts are not sure where it will hit, maybe even north of Florida in the Carolinas...they keep estimating it as either a 3 or a 4...regardless, a major blow...

The personal assistant to Trump...Madeleine Westerhout...who got the heave ho from her boss...the whole thing got a little bit more interesting as to why...hey, her desk was just outside of Donny's office...and she fended off unwanteds....the rumor is that she got a little tipsy and divulged some Trump mannerisms...he caught wind of it, and fired her...you KNOW what's coming next...just WHAT did she say?...stay tuned, it will ALL come out...the first parts were embarrassing, if TRUE...

Quinnipiac University...out of Hamden, Connecticut...ran a poll...they often do...of the upcoming election...2020...and the results are discouraging for the present inhabitant of the White House...in fact, he is getting hammered...HAMMERED!...by the top 5 Demo candy men and women...ie, Mayor Pete, too....like by 9% for him...leader is Joe Biden by a wide margin....how will Trump respond to this?...a fake U?...

Now, for those who are within shouting distance...

We have been using and staring at our gas cooktop, which came with this building...like 14 years or so ago...looks beat up...so did a bunch of investigating on the newbies out there...on the web net...and in the stores...you know the usuals, Lowes, Home Depot, Costco...interesting is that they all had the virtual SAME sales prices...trapsed out to Lowes...stood for a good 20 minutes or so, with no help...ah, there were others, waiting, too...decided to go to where we got our new dishwasher...Aztec...terrific service...the same prices...and we are good to do...so, you fancy people who live in our upper floors at the home, we are one up on ya...

Cosmo is about to make a roadie...and get this...we are doing a boondogging...if needed...up the coastline...just to make sure that everything works prior to the jaunt to the Grand Canyon...

Today, we get our first shipment of Freshly...packaged food for 3 dinners...came highly recommended by a dude in the home...one of them fancies...I will document for ya'll...

I do get aggravated when I send a message and get NO REPLY!...whatever...

We have been in the pool 4 straight days...our new record...you have seen the movie 'Cocoon?'...yup, that's us...

Figuratively Speaking

Morning, kids...don't we all get caught up in this bloody language, once in a while?...'figuratively speaking' is one of those phrases that can have loads of meaning to it...like, with my figure, er, shape, I talketh to you...probably not...try, exhorting imaginative thoughts thru a myriad of jumbled up words...a little closer, I imagine...maybe, the proper way to deliver a message, but I didn't use the correct verbiage....whatever...it is something that writers use, whenever they are at a loss of proof...

'Loose lips, sinks ships'...a phrase used in the second world war by our allies...be careful what you say, to whom you are saying it to, and better yet, don't talk to anyone you don't know...ah ha...relevance?...'loose lips, and she quits'...hmmm, she got fired...the close confidant to Trump...his personal assistant...Madeleine Westerhout...who has been right by his side throughout his regime...well, not RIGHT by his side...was at a dinner and spoke 'trash' about the royal family...ha ha...this is a bit sketchy, but it got to some press people...wait a minute, Horse...not royal, but the present inhabitants of the White House...they got wind of it, and she is OUT...geez, how old is she anyway?...

The oncoming storm, Denali, oops, good lawdy, Horse,  Dorian!!!!...it is named...(my first mistake of the year...)...you do know that they call them by the first initial to signify what number this is, for the season, right?...its the 4th one...I may have just insulted your intelligence...sorry...but, it is on a beeline for our Floridian Condo in Cocoa Beach...the guesstimates are that it could be a category 4 hurricane!...like 140+ mph winds...we watched a broadcast out of there, last night...where the reporter was right in front of our building...and get this, at Alan Shepard Park...which is the name of my pappy...I digress...set to hit maybe Sunday nite?...around then...and yea...one more thing...from the Orlando airport (MCO, why?) via the highway to Cocoa Beach is called the 'beeline'...I can't make this stuff up...

I watch with some interest the UCLA football team...as their coach is Chip Kelly...who was part of the resurrection of the UO pigskin prowess...he added some extreme speed to the makeup of the Ducks...excitement...then left to try the NFL, in an aborted attempt...settled back in the collegiate ranks down here is LaLa Land...and curiously, the swagger and speed from his coaching is...gone...weird...they played at Cincinnati last eve...and were quite frankly...awful...the line was porous...and the Bruins are now 0-1...

The nowadays Ducks...have been part of a transformation to strength...beefed up dudes in the line...the speed of the team, has gone the way of the real power house teams of the SEC...the theory is to maul the opponent in the pits...gotta go with their thoughts...we will see the results on Saturday nite in Arlington...taking on Auburn...the line has been steady at 3 1/2 which still bewilders moi...got a call from my Duck expert last nite, and he seems to think...he really does...that one of the better blokes we have, just may be injured...and the Vegas boyz know this, but the public doesn't...hmmm, that in itself is mighty shady, if true...my confidant is Snooki, who you must trust...well...

Funny how stories get out there...one had to do with the La Lakers...back in the Kobe/Shaq days...that the two were constantly feuding...there were rumors of that, then...but no reporter would stick his or her neck out and put it in print, or talk about it on the pixels...well, now there are no holds barred...some dude let it out that he too had a confidant...that said that there was a sign that the team used, to freeze the ball from Kobe...as the bloke would shoot the rock too much...ha ha ha...love it...

The lil worman, and I did walk over to the off track...had some lunch (tasty) and some cool beverages...as it is hot and muggy here in the Q...not like 115* or anything like that...but, hot for us...and bet on Del Mar...stayed for 3 races...and the ponies were not nice to the Horse...listen, kids...I take great pride in reading the racing form...2 of the 3 races, my prime pick was in the hunt for the first part of their race...and then faded to DEAD LAST!...last...OMG...it was a sign to get outta there...which I did...there are days like that...

The Futures are up...again...have no clue why...so, if you are in the stock mood today, go ahead and make some cash...if the pattern I see, holds up...on the other hand, another store going to go bye bye...will declare bankruptcy...Forever 21...the hits just keep right on a coming...

One of my least favorite people in the world...well, the US...is Donny, Jr...who tries in vain to mimic his daddy...talk trash in his Tweets...you know the drill...likes to do the 'bigger than ever' crowds that want to listen to him speak...well now...got his comeuppance in a 'big draw' in Pikeville, Kentucky....stumping for the Repub Guv Matt Bevin, who is seeking reelection there...thanks, but not thanks, Donny Jr...7,000 seat stadium, and maybe, just maybe 200 showed up....ha ha ha ha....

Odd to not see any PGA on the pixels...I guess they really are through for the year...wait, for the season...they have that bloody wraparound thang...well, you could watch the ladies in Portland, Oregon...they are still at it...

Hey, it's a Friday...find some fun things to do...maybe a nice swim...some bubbly...a rib eye...garlic mashed taters...and a strawberry cheesecake, figuratively speaking...

Throwback Thursday

Are you one of the 51.5% of the USA that are on Facebook?...hey, I know that some of you in the Horse World, are not living in this country...but you can respond as well...my point is that there is a great chance that this social media site, may be the most popular viewed everyday item...in ALL of any media...ie, TV, radio, newspaper, or any other web net production...absolutely amazing...anyhoo...many dot their weekly calendars with this catchy ditty...Throwback Thursday...where the masses post pictures and stories that have been back in time...in fact, that's what the site does regularly...shows what we posted from years back...

Keeping with this thought...we happened on a new to us pixel thang...'You Tube TV'...where you can search out and find TV shows and concerts from way back when...the pix is great...as is the sound, well, it's totally dependent on the taping from the date...duh...alas, up came the one and only, Rodney Dangerfield...'I get no respect'...as we watched a number of his performances from the BEST late night talk shows of them all, the Johnny Carson Show...talk about your throwback...to top it off, we laughed ourselves silly with the 17th Anniversary Special of Johnny...hey, it's not like that any more...nope...none of these dudes come close...

I have been talking dirty about the number of awards that Miranda Lambert wins at all these country awards shows...yet, her new album that is about to be released...is...gulp...pretty dang entertaining...as I have heard some of her snippets....also, the Taylor Swift recent release...like totally pop, and hardly country...which are extremely catchy...she has it all figured out...there are some really really good tracks...just thought you'd like to know...

The mighty Padres ended up losing to them Bums...went OT...and the difference is the lack of a quality SS...who's throwing error led to the loss...his 5th in 8 games...ah, AJ, can you see what is happening?...it's not that hard...move Manny to SS, and put Ty France at 3B...and sit the little guy, who is totally outmatched at this level...duh...

For you who are collegiate football fiends...this is YOUR weekend...yes...so interested in the Duck game...as all of us who are followers are excited by this year's product...hard to say, this, but it just may be a 'must win'...egads...and the point spread remains at 3 1/2...what do the Vegas boyz know?...

How about this...Emerson College...hey, you know how collegiates can be...ha ha...want to run a parade...a Straight Parade...geez...really?...

Time for some hosses...as this is the final week for Del Mar...looks like I am going to the off track...leaving around 1sh...anyone interested?...half price beer, dogs, and tater tots...

We are in an age of saying, writing, or delivering anything you want to...praise the web net, mostly...as one can get their message out as quickly as the keyboard writes, and the 'publish' is hit...just as intriguing, is that there can be absolutely no foundation for anything that is written...or said...can be nothing but lies...maybe accusations...but, hey, it's out there...

I bring this up, as the format used by Trump is no more than what I just described...he found that in his last election campaign that he could 'get out' his messages, without ever seeing the eyes of the people that are reading his Tweets...nobody could jeer him, or cheer him, for that matter...and he also found he could say 'anything' about anybody...and there was no retribution...none...

It did not stop after he was elected to our highest political position in our land...as most of us, thought that he would then go 'presidential'...nope...he then realized he could do the same, and claim immunity cuz of 'executive privilege'...thus, the Tweeting continued...in fact, multiplied!...there are sources out there, that have caught him in over 10,000 lies or partial ones...flat out...the numbers are staggering...so much for presidential...

In summation on this topic, I will use the line that was prevalent in the classic 'Seinfeld' Show...this is the character George Costanza talking to Jerry Seinfeld, "Jerry, just remember, it's not a lie if YOU believe it..."....ah, thus, using this line of thinking, Donny, the orator (of sorts), believes in his heart (if  he has one) that he is telling...the truth...

The mighty Padres stunk it up last eve...losing by a whopping 9-0...sure, at home...to them Bums...and curiously, AJ, the miracle GM (to some) picked up another OF from the waiver wire...a bloke from Oakland...hard to figure, as we have a glut in the outfield...need a SS in the worst way...whatever...it's not how I would put together a squad...some may call it, a 4.0 on the stink-o-meter...

Curious...is what Great Britain is going thru...as they elected their own version of Donny, Boris 'Badinof' Johnson...in his desire to Brexit...the reason for his gain of power...he asked the Queen to shut down the Parliament...egads, I didn't think she had any real stuff to do...other than to be curtsied to...and look down her nose at the commoners...what you don't learn every day...well, she must be in the magic wand biz, as she is closing down for the month of September...think Boris has started Tweeting yet, like his American twin?...

I am lost on Bachelor in Paradise...like who picks whom, when you have same sex lovers, as well as heterosexual ones?...where does she stand?...I'm sure they will figure it all out...but, they haven't had the highly touted rose ceremony since they have changed to program...

Trump just tweeted that Puerto Rico is one of the most corrupt places on earth...I'm going to say this right now, fuggit about the Puerto Rican vote in 2020, Donny...

It's always fun to hang with old friends...ah, not in age, er, people we used to live by...yup, I am not speaking of the advanced years...wait, somehow I have screwed this up...anyhoo, show them what this whole area is all about...Nancy Boy and BoBo...who are not the same sex, but...egads...enough trying to be funny, Horse...it has been loads of fun...the Morrises...fantastic friends...

The VMA's did their award show...sure, Taylor Swift won some...as always...she just released a newbie album...or, a CD, hmmm, maybe a streamline set of songs...very catchy tunes...Taylor is a master of that stuff...which is treating her bankroll quite nicely...

The mighty Padres won the first game of the Bum's set...what?...4-3...listen, kids, it is a rare day that SD wins the first game...call me confused...

I just saw the line on the Auburn/Oregon game this weekend...favoring the SE school by 3 1/2...take a peek at this for the next couple of days, to see if there is a trend...really, I am a bit surprised...what do the Vegas boyz know?...

The weather down here in SoCal is the perfect time of the year...as we did the dinner cruise last night...gosh, it could have not been better...the food?...cooked on board and was terrific!...we sat out on the boat's deck for the last half hour or so...and we have come to the conclusion of conclusions...after all our bantering about, of selling and moving, to...Nashville, east SD, Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, Bend...amongst other places...we have decided to STAY!...the cruise reminded us of what is here, that we haven't been appreciating what we have...right here in uptown San Diego...yup, we will travel to the other places...when the desire hits us...

We have a 5 minute jaunt to the airport...the train depot is just blocks away...year round golf, in mild weather...so many restaurants and bars all over the place...the mighty Padres a small walk...Del Mar race track a short drive...the beach 10 minutes away...hey, just too convenient to give all this away....yes, sirree, Bob, we are digging our heels in...and we own the condo...

Today is a Trump free zone...I will not bring up any absurd thing that he has said or done...Tweeted...blurted out...this is my promise to you...

You know when the Bums get to our ball park, they are drenched with the 40% Padre fans in attendance, 'Beat LA!'...but, when the mighty Padres go to Chavez Ravine, there is absolutely NO chants of 'Beat SD!'...none whatsoever...in fact, I reckon nowhere in all of beisbol, do the Pads have to endure such shenanigans...

Poll time...Monmouth U released a newbie for the Demo candy peops...2020 leaders...it's just like a long horse race...lots of jockeying...it has Bernie and Eliz at 20%, and Joe at 19%...Kam at 9%...don't freak out, kids...as the 'poll' has a sample size of 298!...what?...put it in the 20,000 range, and I think it would have much more merit...I could release a Horse poll...the sample size would be 4....counting the miracle Mackles...

So, we had lunch at Jrdn in PB yesterday...one thing that stood out...the number of beach goers with tattoos...some are like everywhere on their bods...I guess it's cool...but, at some time in their advancing years, those tats will droop and run into each other...have they not thought ahead?...ha ha...

5 years ago...we met and watched the legendary Zombies perform...pictured here were them, Rod Argent and Colin Blumstone, with the equally legendary Chapmans...

It's Only Make Believe

Say, do you think that Donny actually said this?...that he wanted to fire nukes into the hurricanes to break them up...ah, even, he...would not be so stupid to throw that theory into the mix...a weatherman, not so much...so, yes, I agree with him...that he didn't blurt that statement out...well, not in public...maybe to his cabinet, only...a better question is, how many people are still in his inner circle?...I digress...

He is trying to throw his ample weight around in the G 7 Summit meeting...suggesting that the Russians be allowed into the select group....there you go, the G 8...might there be some type of payback for the Russian support (?) for the Trump election?...just what do they have on him, anyway?...rumors are rampant...

Am I still talking about him?...he tries hard...to influence the rest of the G 7 to have their next conference in Mira Lago...like Florida...hmmm, is it for sure that they won't boot him out?...dang, that would mean that we, the USA, would be x'd out, too...can't they just ban Donny, only?...

Furthermore, he is suggesting that China has been trying to contact him...'millions of Chinese are outta jobs, cuz of my tariffs'...what % of his statements are true?...ha ha...inferring that they were hurting, and want to sign a peace treaty...Bejiing says it is fake news....they haven't made any calls, whatsoever...

OK then...

Boz was bluesy...had a bunch of newbies in his band...and they were dynamite!...however, he didn't play my, er his fav, somebody's fav, 'Midnight Train to Georgia'....he finished his set with a Chuck Berry song...fun...I have said this before, but...who figured out the spelling of George?...how about Jorg?...this pix of us 'on the wall'...

The mighty Padres stole one from the Bosox...scoring all their 3 runs in the 1st stanza, and that was all that was needed...3-1...the other highlight?...the Pad's management pulled a stunt on all them Red Sox fans in attendance...played their beloved 'Sweet Caroline' so they could sing their hearts out, and in the chorus, switched to Rick Astley...dang it all, that would do it for moi...and that's why SD won the game...

Rory emerged from the tight pack for the top prize in the PGA finals...$15 million bucks...good on him...but, really, that is way too much cash for what it is...sorry, dudes, but it's true...

Fallout from the Andrew Luck sudden announcement of his retirement from the NFL...leave it alone...some say he is too young, at the age of 29...what?...he has been battered, bruised, bed ridden, and out for a full year...shut up!...he is doing what is best for his own body and mind...you take your sorry arse out there, and let them 300+ lb lineman, pound on your defenseless bones...

Today, we take our guests on the PETERman Bus Tour...yes, it's a misnomer, kids...we take 'em in the rag top...and show all the sights and sounds of the greater area of San Diego...they are first timers...should I start with the homeless camp (s)?...ha ha...are they only in SD?...right...

Finish the nite off with a dinner cruise...for ya'll that have done this, it is special...or, even if you haven't, believe me...

Lightning

Nothing scares the Horse more than LIGHTNING!...you hear the thunder, and count...to guesstimate how far away the earth bolts are away from you...BAM!...such was the predicament in the PGA Final T in Hotlanta...the officials got the players off the course, and then recommended that the patrons, er fans, do the same...there is a HUGE difference...the players go into the club house and shelters...the fans have to scatter about...maybe to their cars?...somewhere...but, do NOT cluster underneath a tree...yup, and that is actually what happened...the strike was a tree and the electricity, Mother Nature's fury, carries thru the ground nearby...at least SIX people were struck...egads...

One of our adventures, semi yearly, is to the condo in Cocoa Beach, Florida...our week usually takes in July 4...and, it almost always has a thunder and lightning storm included...we've been on the golf course, when one could see the blackish clouds roll our way...I make a beeline to the car and to get outta there...most people call me crazy and juvenile...witness above, I am not the two things that I get accused of...nope...top it off, is that the condo is RIGHT on the beach...and the waters are full of sharks...right where we boogie board...man, where can we go?...my theory is to boogie in the middle of the pack of fellow boarders...

Yesterday was an absolute banner day for Crazy Horse...over 200 hits...not sure, but that has to be one of the best ever...I have been witnessing an increase in my readership...double plus...and I thank you all...I hope I can make you think a tad bit more...maybe, you get your news, in Horse form...please please please, drop me a note...er text...er email...and ask Q's...if you don't understand where I may be coming from...

My blog title of Bingo, was induced by the G 7 meeting in Paris...for your info, the countries (7 of them) that are considered to be monetarily trend setters...are...the UK, France, Canada, the USA, and the 3 countries that formed the enemy of us all in WWII, Italy, Germany, and Japan...my how times change...back not that long ago, we were trying to kill one another...keeping that thought, is that Vietnam is now a destination spot to 'get away'...you think in time, one will venture to the Middle East to Iran...to sun ourselves on their beaches?...now, THAT'S the domino theory...

College football started up....I lurved it...the schools, er universities get together...and it's a joyous sight...my take...Florida (ranked in the top 10 in the AP) is not even close to being as good as the 11th ranked Ducks...won over a very young Hurricane squad...and Hawaii beat Arizona...late last nite...should have been by loads more, but they self destructed to the beat of 6 turnovers....yes, I watched 'em both...

Stunning was the announcement of the 4 time all pro QB of the Indianapolis Colts...and the alumnus of the Stanford Cardinal...Andrew Luck, who said he is retiring from the game...29 years of age...the injuries have taken a toll on his body AND mind...enough is enough...word leaked out as the team was in another of those ridiculous pre-season games...and get this, he was BOOED off the field...c'mon people, show some class...or lack of it, as they did...

Another tuff night for the Mighty Padres...lost yet again to the Bosox...and the 1B Hosmer will have trouble sleeping...as he had 2 mighty great chances to win the game for us...bases loaded in the 7th and two on in the 9th...and came up empty both times, in a 5-4 loss...have I told you that hitting a baseball is hard?...it is...

The T in Hotlanta has resumed this am...looks like it is a 3 dog race...Koepka (again!), Rory, and Xander...JT has fallen off the top of the charts...you do know the winner gets $15 MILLION BUCKS, right?...what?...something about that, doesn't seem right...I think that a portion of the proceeds should go to Tiger's favorite charity...as he is the ONE who has made that all that cash possible...

One of the joys of living down here in SoCal, is that year round we can see performers do their thang in the great outdoors...tonight it is Boz...like in Scaggs...joining us is our former neighbors from Keizer, Orygun, and now fellow Californicators, Nancy Boy and Bobo...we are going to show them the sights and sounds of San Diego...

The Tea Party has emerged!...as they have propped up a candy man to run against Trump...I knew it...the Repubs have to have another choice...might there be more?...Joe Walsh, out of Illinois...yup, I love it...absolutely LOVE IT!...his comments, speaking of Donny, "You can't believe a word he says. Again, I don't care about your politics.  He's nuts.  He's erratic.  He's cruel.  He stokes bigotry." now, THIS is what I am talking about...
