At Pimlico RT ...leg 2 of 3...wait, I thought they had 4?...oops, so stupid...I know...no calls, please...as California Chrome is at it again today... the Triple Crown ...it's been years since a horse has won all 3...more likely to get this one...and that's how I bet it...I do have a long shot to keep your eyes and maybe $ on... Bayern ...just a hunch...but most of my cash is on Chrome... In the aftermath of the also rans in the NBA playoffs ...the top 2 of my likings are done...you know the Blazers and the Clips ...PDX resigned their coach for an extension...let's hope he gets a different defensive coordinator...and LA is floundering about with the ridiculous owner situation...as that will drag on for months...can't the owners get on with it and do their vote?...or will the "time will heal all wounds" theory be used...nope...this is a crisis in waiting... You heard of a spoke-less bicycle? ...latest and greatest invention...that folds up into nothing....

So, you're thinking of moving where it's like...better than where you are now...and you say, enough is enough...so where do you go?...the masses are going to... TEXAS ...it's big...it's way affordable...and you can get new housing...and the weather ain't bad...BUT...the number one place in the US of A?... the Villages in Florida ...where it has increased in population almost 15% in the last 3 years...and the avg income is $35 grand...so, pack up your golf cart (so miss mine) and all your belongings and get down to Gator land, kids... Finally the fires are getting surrounded...partly due to the massive attack by air and ground by the fire fighters, and partly due to mother nature, turning off the heat and winds...and...in the affected area, an arrest of two who just may have set the fires...thus far, there is one death, which changes the charges against the villains... I would be remiss if I didn't talk about the fires down here....there are 8 of them right now...mostly just north of us...as you see on this map...and with the Santa Anna Winds moving them all over the place, it's nearly impossible to quell them...the smoke has not filtered downtown...so it kind of seems surreal...back in the last major one...we had just moved here...2007...the smoke was all around us...and...there is a hint of some of them being set...ARSON...as they are too far apart to be connected...all very scary stuff...as of last eve, there were at least 30 homes destroyed...we need cooler weather and obviously, lesser winds...by the way, these homes are million dollar structures... You know I am not fond of the coaching of the Blazers ...as they got stomped and booted from the playoffs...last night...not saying that it wouldn't have happened regardless....but the defense they employed gave their players NO CHANCE to win...NONE...they HAD to have watched tape, r...

There is no perfect place on earth...well now...you can find problems where ever you are...BUT...this is dang close...you might not think so if you live in the brush fire area north of us, just east of famous Torrey Pines...to my knowledge, no homes were destroyed...Rancho Santa Fe...there were many scary moments, as the Santa Anna winds were blowing towards the ocean...my oh my, it's a dry down here... I'm kind of a Clipper fan...and not a fan of the NBA per se...odd things happen in the league...dominated by some questionable refereeing...don't get me wrong here...there is a lot of $ bet on these games...the ending of the LA/OKC was dubious at best...where some critical calls, and non calls benefiting the home team Thunder...pulling out a 7 point deficit in the last 52 seconds and getting the W...Coach Doc voiced his displeasure and will pay a humongous fine for saying so...too bad, as Horse totally agrees with him...don't fine me!... One of the things that I thrive on...is not what most everyone else I know does...what?...I'm talking the printed newspaper ...a staple for the last 100 years or so...but...with the onslaught of the modern thinger...this internet buzz...people are not buying and reading it...in fact, the latest stat is at...gulp...23% of the Americans do so...what?...and online?...just a scant 6 % more...in fact, most people watch the news in lieu of reading it...hmmm... I suppose it goes to my lurve of the sporting field...that draws me so much...because the TV sources do  more of a national coverage...and the local stuff is but a few minutes worth...so...depth comes from the printed source...in fact...in SD, the local rag, the Union Trib does a marvelous job of covering the sports...normally 10 pages or so... The lifeline to most papers is the local's advertisements ...without it, where on earth would they go?...you can do so online...but, the lack of readers on that part, doesn't...

It took until the dark part of the daylight to get er done...but German, Martin Kaymer , won the Players...not without some bizarre moments...as there was a weather delay (in Florida?)...with about an hour to go...he was breezing by 3 until then...came out and played conservatively and brought the field back into it...well, Jimmy Furyk...one of MY pix...I digress...hit a miracle putt on the island green on 17 and won...cool for him...and what about 20 yr old Jordan Spieth?...faltered a bit...he'll get there...he's still green, kids... You know when you get older...talking about that...you have your memories...that you seem to bring up more and more...and tell others about...well...you see you need to stay active , cuz nobody wants to hear me ramble on about what used to be...that's the beauty of this place we live...we are mobile and create new memories all the time...so important...right?... Speaking of miracles... the Clips were done...down by 22 early to the Thunder...

First of all, Happy Mother's Day ...if there is a reason for the season...there is no bigger and more deserving one than this one...listen to the recent NFL blokes who get drafted into the league and almost every one of them thank their moms...almost exclusively...and we are no different...there is no more than I can say...if you still have yours living in the here and now...cherish them while you can...we miss ours a ton...thankfully, our son is here with his...and this is a very good thing... Go figure the Pads ...as for the 2nd straight night...they have an uprising of runs...no one hotter than Seth Smith, who is batting like .350, surrounded by a number of .185 hitters...and yet...find ways to get a bunch of them scores across the plate...and have won...gulp...2 in a row... I can figure the Blazers ...who now are down 3-0 in their passive effort to the Spurs...it is beyond me that the coaching staff continues to play their D the way they do...and give their team little ch...
