Pretty much chalk yesterday...here goes... Cornell over Temple ...east coasters, but not Big...yawn Gonzaga over Florida St ....looked like a real contender, size, speed, shooters... Mizzou over Clemson ...the Tigers over the Tigers...errrr, Clemson poorly coached in the basics... G Tech over Okla St ...thank god they don't run the option... Cal over Louisville ...wooah, big speed by the Bears...hell of a year for the Card's Pittino... West Virginia over Morgan St ....I thought I heard Oregon St...and wondered how they got in...oops, my bad... Wisconsin over Wofford ...yup, the only team the Bads could beat... Duke over Ark Pine Bluff (really)...the Blue Devils in a laugher and are spot on... Purdue over Sienna ...my issue is why the Big 10 has such high seeds for such a crappy conference...every year same situation... Texas A & M over Utah St ....man, how many teams are in from the great state of Texas? Mich St. over New Mexico St ....bad beating bad Ohio St. ...

So you know I can't pick 'em, but I can talk about 'em... Tennessee over SDS ...the Aztecs showed the worst offense in the Dance and didn't deserve the win...but the Vols are NOT good and will get knocked off next... Ohio over Georgetown ...shocker and out goes one of my top pix... Northern Iowa over UNLV ...ugly Betty Kansas over Lehigh ...boring and chalk BYU over Florida ...the Tabernacles bells are ringing KSU over North Texas ...jerk coach wins the 1st...Prez O has this team a contender...what does he know? Murray St. over Vanderbilt ...is this Arthur Murray?  big win, nonetheless... Butler over UTEP ...flying under the radar, Butler has had a bunch of wins...watch out...oops, I just whammied them... Kentucky over ETSU ...OMG, wtf , and KMA (kiss my ass)... Wake Forest over Texas ...Deacons are always going to master the Longhorns... UDUB over Marquette ....Pac 10 knocking off a Big Easter...yeh!...maybe the scribes were in bed too long with the east coa...

So if you like hoops, you're in for it for quite a while as the Big Dance cranks up today... SDS plays the Vols in Rhode Island and this is red and black day around here...didn't I do this before?  Anyhoo, the CBS channels are the beneficiary of this marvelous set of events...and they love the idea of a big upset...as I have said before anyone can win this, thus no upsets...watch for the MWC to make a splash...and the Pac-10 to belly flop...and the Big East to do the butterfly...what does this mean? I played the best golf of the year yesterday...made a bit of an adjustment in my irons and felt sooooo great...by the way, it was 87* at Sycuan and was an awesome summer like day...shot an 80, doubling the last hole...OK, it was just fine as I had 17 good holes...and won $... The Pads scored 16 runs yesterday against the Royals...but did give up 14...most of them at the end in mop up duty... NBA...the quirk of the schedule as the PDX team is off for like 4 or 5 days...ho...

They all sang Rolling Stone covers...and for the most part, better than the Jagger versions...why not do songs from the Irish to honor St. Pat's day?  I digress... Crystal remains the boss, but the screamer did well...so did the young lad, the guy goldilocks...they all had decent moments...I think it's the young gal that should go...but, I can't figure the voters out thus far...by the way, Simon's comments to Crystal were off base... As the vote draws near for the health bill , each side is revving up their parties to draw the passion of the people...OMG, I hate the politicians... they can all go to Hell , if there is one... March madness ...the tourney, unlike in D-1 football...yup, same schools, same presidents, but governed a different way ...oops, let this go...so all the scribes, television sportscasters, internet gurus, are giving their take on who is going to outlast everyone else...and that's the way it's going to be... outlast ...the east bracket appears to be the toughest to win...and, if you go by the tv geniuses, the Big East is THE conference this season...so you probably should pick one of those teams as your champ... Syracuse ?  naw, too many injuries... Kansas ?  naw, too slow... Duke ?  maybe, so well coached... Kentucky ?  maybe, but hate the cheater coach...that's the number 1 seeds...I never ever get it right, so I'll pick and just shake my head as the process goes on...where are the DUIx ? This also is the time that the coaches get fired ...if you haven't won for me lately, you are gone...figure it will be a record number this next 2 weeks...so AD's rev up you...

Remember when... Jake Peavy was a Pad?  Now he sits his wares with the White Sox and is their number 2...he's had a nice spring thus far... LT was running against the Jets in the playoffs, just a few months ago?  Well, egads, he's signed with them, and is their number 2 running back... The Aztecs win the MWC tourney and still only get a number 11 seed in the Big Dance...and UNLV and BYU have lower seeds... The Big Easy did win in Florida...easily... The 2 top female horses were to meet for bragging rights...but the east coast filly is off, so the match race is off...boo I'm not a fan of famous people who are famous cause they are famous...hint... Jessica Simpson ... Watched the Pads play yesterday in the Cactus...CY looked pretty good and Kyle Blanks looks like the real deal... Mid 70's + all week here...and this afternoon we are hitting the beach ... You have a grand Monday ...

I'm not sure it's happened before, but both the gals and guys from SDS won their conference tourneys ...sweet wins as the gals came from nowhere and beat the Utes , and the guys beat the hometown Rebels ...the results?  They're in their respective Big Dances!!! So as you can expect, a lot of euphoria around here for these accomplishments... Like I told you before, I have seen a lot of collegiate hoops in this past week and I just haven't seen a dominant team out there ...so anyone has a chance... So I spent a bunch of time out at Balboa working the kinks out at the course...let's be honest here... I'm 62 and still trying to find my game ...when I finally stumble on it, I'll be too old to actually put it to use... Why oh why can't we always be on daylight savings time ?
