Happy 4th of July weekend!...am golfing in the am tomorrow, so will do my two day thinger now...and then have two parties to go celebrate...er, watch the fireworks...and eat and drink... The country is on alert as there has been threats...always...there are always threats...this is what these people do...as the current, er past, leader of the group got taken out yesterday...it's a necessary evil thing we do... BTW, the group that sang "Only In America" , was none other than Jay and the Americans. ..thought that would be apropos....of course you KNEW that...oldie but a goodie... Because we live on the bay....block away...there are always fireworks set off....throughout the year...unknown reasons...but the one on the 4th is a doozy...remember my story of a few years back...when the powers to be accidentally set the whole thing off at once?...loudest boom I've ever heard...lucky no one was hurt...other than the pride of the guys... Well now, guess who's up before the crack of dawn?...yup, the Horse...and what's on my mini-mind?...the ABSURD amounts of money that these players are signing for in the NBA ...I know, you will tell me...it's a hot commodity...sure, I suppose...yet, why so much?... When a level 3 or 4 guy... like the 3rd or 4th best player on the team...gets somewhere between $5 and $10 MILLION a season , it makes you wonder...who is paying for this?....the average ticket price ranges from the low of $30 in New Orleans to the high of $132 in NYC...multiply that by the number that attend...times that by 41, the # of home games...and the numbers don't add up ...throw in the price of food and beverage...and merchandise sold...not even close... The rich cats...the owners...find a way to make it all go ...and they MAKE money...must be the TV cash that gets them over the top...it does in other sports...build it and they will come...apparently so... More absurdity ...and probably humi...

It's a Manic Monday ...what?...the Bangles...and who could not remember them?...as we approach yet another end of another month...my, how time just speeds up... The 2nd escapee has been captured...close to the Canadian Border...and that whole area sighs a huge one of relief...now, the state has to get in there and clean up the prison... After doing chores around the...wait, I have no chores ...we did take the car to get the plates done at the car dealer...and we did hunt for an RV book at the book store...but...you really can't call them chores, can you?...maybe so... Friends ...as you leave an area and are home based in a totally new state and all...the one thing that you lose...is your old friends...time marches on...and what you had in common is now poof...you try to stay in touch...but things make it harder and harder to do so...I must say, that my blog gives a glimpse at what we are doing...but the other end?...no clue...which is the beauty of Facebook...where some people post what is happening in their lives...but, really you just drift apart...sad... Which makes the RV trip we are about to make, bittersweet...meet up with peops that we have been apart from 9 years...and with the reunion, 50...eegads...and I have kept in zero contact with any of them blokes...should be a quick night...especially sin...
