Merry Christmas, dudes and dudettes...it was a nice 77* at Sycuan today...played with my son and Putts...had an awesome time...just the most beautiful weather anywhere...
Sure, some of you were watching the NFL come to a near close...well, the Chargers are through...lost to the upstart Lions in Detroit...and for the good of all...naw, won't say it tonight...but, you know what I'm thinking...and the Jets got bebopped by the Giants...well, what do you say now, round man that calls himself Ryan...and, by the way, how'd your bro do today at Dallas?  Nasty...

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

It wouldn't be right if I didn't rant right before Christmas, now would it...and there are a lot of things that may need mentioning...like the Republicans in the House who begrudgingly passed the tax break for all Americans so they could go home for the Holiday...or wait, their speaker has it done, yet they haven't done so...or the K family that continues to flood the market with such deplorable items that you have to say "I can't take it anymore"...or anymore lip syncing pseudo Xmas songs by your fav, Justin Bieber...or the over the top, ridiculous production of the X Factor...or Newt or Mitt or Perry or Michelle or Ronnie...naw, I must stay in the field of football...the Maaco Bowl in Las Vegas...

The Good...the Boise State Broncos...ranked 7th in the last BSBCS poll...yet are delegated to the awful Maaco Bowl at Sam Boyd Stadium in LV...sporting a 13-1 record...and arguably the top QB in the land, Kellen Moore...his stats over his 4 years are awesome...and they win big games...albeit, the Ducks twice...which gets my nod for sure...just ask most of the Pac -12 how well they do on that issue...lambasted their opponent, ASU, 56-24...in the lopsided mess of a football game...

The Bad...the BSBCS...as the Bowl Football Association makes a mockery of the collegiate game...if you want a large charge, go onto their website and look at the propaganda they put out...as most colleges LOSE money in these 35 bowl games...the coaches do not...oops, but true...almost all the bosses have a monetary clause (Santa?)  in their contracts if they qualify for one of these bowls...and it is tiered...the bigger the bowl, the more cash they get...and, don't get me into the "donations to charity" crap...HBO did an expose on that and it's deplorable...oh, by the way, the other winner is....drum roll please...ESPN...and that's where the money is...but the schools don't get that...boooooooooooooooo....

The Ugly...the mess at Arizona State University...so the football team isn't winning enough...hey, they got a nod for the Maaco, didn't they?...so it was a mere 6-7 record...but, like BSU, got $1.1 mill...before they have to minus all the expenses...wait, that $ goes to the conferences...oh well...let's get back to the program...they feel that Dennis Erickson wasn't the savior...geez, he was heralded as that a few years back...and they hire this bloke that has been at 4 schools in the last 6 years...who philosophizes honor, integrity, and loyalty to the school he is at...just ask Pitt how that went in his one year there at the helm...I digress...selfishly I want them to stay bad, as this helps the Ducks out...no problem...this program is spiraling down, down, down...

Fun in LaLa Land

When I'm wrong I'm going to admit it...and I was wrong...the LA (formerly SD) Clippers made a bold and good move...acquiring the PG Chris Paul...it's because he wasn't seen on the west coast much...but I took in the Lakers/Clips game last night...and he is a very good one...as LA, is much improved...and fun to watch...big time...and I'm not talking about the purple team...he absolutely ate up all the PG's that the Lakers threw at him...I'm telling you now, get out and watch them if you can...they are fun, fun ,fun...

What is going on with the GOP?  It is running amok...just when I think they are settled in on a guy...he gets knocked off the throne...I suppose you gurl Michelle still has a chance, too...who doesn't?...in fact, get Sarah back in there...who knows?...still...the cost of running for the job is exorbitant...and they all can afford it?...when we all talk about the lack of $, they sure seem to be avoiding the dilemma...whatever...

FF...yup, the mighty Gaslamp Sun moves in to the finals for the title...thanks to the leg of SF's kicker...and it's down between the two teams that tied for the top spot in the regular schedule...and you think I know nothing about sports...

Housewives of Beverly Hills...OMG!..very unnerving episode about Taylor and Russell...the White Party segment...where the rich act very much so...have an elaborate gathering, as everyone is to be dressed in white...and yet, they all spent the entire evening in preparation for the couple arriving, to just then tell them they are no longer welcome...boo...they should all be ashamed of themselves..ALL of them...

Played at Morgan Run yesterday...rich and somewhat famous around these parts...private club that apparently didn't know I was Native American...you know, I look very Italian...and I must say...being a snobby Sycuan member...that how can their golf carts NOT have GPS?  I was lost out there way too many times...I know, I should have brought my Skycaddie, but, just assumed...well, you know...by the way, 85, and am playing much better...thank you...

So, it's getting to be a lot like Christmas...cold and chilly...as by the end of the week, the kids fly in...tonight is a dinner at the Mackles, tomorrow is the dinner with Puttses, Thursday is the dinner at the Strip Club...and Friday brings in the kids...oh yea, golf on Wednesday...pretty good week, huh...

Prez Guy I Have Left Out

In all of my GOP rants, I have left out an internet fav, Ron Paul...another bloke from Texas...Congressional cat that wants to be the Prez...he be a doctor...a baby doctor...that gave that up to be a politician...and the rumor is that he is the pride of the Tea Party...yet, nobody declares it...and, as I have stated before, the origin of the big money Tea Party is from that state...it all makes sense...anyway, the latest Iowa poll has Paul as the leader...really...

Did you know it costs over $4 million dollars to let our Prez O have a vacation in Hawaii?...

Survivor...what was the jury thinking?  They gave the $ to the gal...and all of the lying, cheating, cavorting, praying, was orchestrated by Coach...he should have won, hands down...and there was a good reason for parading the morose Russell Hantz back on the screen during the reunion? 

Break up the Bolts!  They played like dragon slayers (sorry Coach), as they manhandled the Ravens at the Snap Dragon Stadium....formerly the Qualcomm Stadium...just suddenly announced a few days ago...your fav leader, Norv Turner, called a brilliant game...as he battles to keep his job...boo...get rid of the bum...AND... the week of upsets...as the Pack gets beat by the coachless Chiefs, the Colts get win numero uno, and the Seahawks score 38...something was in the air....

I was thinking about back when I was coaching...at this time of the year I would be bolting to Sunriver for a brief getaway...after early league games, before Xmas, and in preparation for the real season of frays...it was always a great vacation and did not cost $4 mill...and...we were looking through a few of the things we salvaged from our junk pile...a couple of cassettes...which had an interview of son Cris after a BB game when he was a frosh...priceless...

Just why is your candidate, Michelle Bachman, still in the race?...I have asked that in jest and in serious mode...she can't possibly think she has a chance...who is funding her?...now I'm serious...she infuriates me more than any candidate than I can think of in the last 40+ years...in fact, I am trying to think of somebody that has even come close...nope...

TRADE

The Padres made their first bold move of the year...trading away their best and most effective pitcher to the Cincy Reds...in exchange for a reliever, another 1st baseman, and two prospects...so SD has a huge logjam at 1B...and the hot, very hot, rumor is that the GM's are scurrying about trying to land the recently acquired, 21 year old, Anthony Rizzo...here's the skinny...Matt Latos is gone...only 24 and with a nastiness that made him hard to figure out...well...the blokes that came in are going to play...I'm not doubting the positive in this one...just may be the ticket...there is a lot more shuffling to happen...

Watched the latest debate on the elephants...what on earth is Michele Bachman doing there?  Or...naw...the Newt factor is among us....very unnerving about the talk about abortion and all...so pious and pompous...boo...and...does it makes a rats ass who any newspaper editor endorses?...just who reads them?...I'm going to tell you, I have never, ever, followed any of them...so...the winner of the debate?...no diff...it's still a Mitt and Newt race...

Da Bowls...the Mountain West went 0-2...albeit the SD game was fun to watch...the Aztecs scored with less than a minute to get the V...but, hold the phone...the Rajun Cajun attacked the prevent D and got a buzzer beater FG to win...hate, absolutely hate 3 man rush prevent D's...don't the old school boys ever learn?...and the Louisiana bunch of coaches were a myriad of odd looking foos...

NBA...the pre-season stuff has begun...took in the Sac/SF game...and a look at Jimmer...who can score kids...but he is turrible on D...and the Kings have the oh so woeful Paul Westfall as their skipper...going to be a looooong year for 'em...on the other hand...my sleeper team in the west...the Warriors...new coach is Mark Jackson, and their direction looks very nice...watch out...and up in LA, domestic probs for your guy Kobe...which will be a factor in their demise...unless they make some lineup changes...

FF...I'm in the playoffs...tied for 1st in the regular season...and am in a donnybrook today...need big numbers out of QB Brees...and the Bolts host the Ravens...may be for nuttin...if your Broncos continue to win...
