Wait, don't ever bet...never, ever bet...on the Big Dance ...I'll bet that you have never heard of Florida Gulf Coast University ...as they ruined many other brackets...as they beat this little old hoops team, Georgetown ...quite convincingly, I may add...and on and on this thing goes...I have one of those other Florida teams winning it all.... Miami ... Innuendoes out of UCLA that after their loss, they are going to lose their coach to boot...'er, going to boot him...one of the reasons was that Bill Walton criticized him on air...what?...Bill was a great player, but a turrible analyst... SDSU beat Oky...geez, I had that happening, but was just hoping...and now they play FGCU ...there is a good chance of the win...do what the Hoyas couldn't do... This bloody cold is knocking me out... dayquil, nyquil, excedrine, liquids, and rest...cough, cough, cough ...eegads...does give me an excuse for watching every single game...some... OK, the most hyped team that ...

And with that, the Lobos ended my bracket chances... THUD ...went the MWC Champs ....as they got whupped by Harvard ... HARVARD! ...they play hoops there?...wait, that was where NBA'er Jeremy Lin played ... OMG! ...and I had NM getting to the final 4... what a stoop I am ...never, ever, bet on the Mountain...never ever... Nice win for the Ducks over the much highly over-rated Oky St...by the way, the Pac 12 looked dang good ...wins by UO , Arizona , and Cal ...who beat another MWC team, UNLV...you just never know... Louisville looked great...as did VCU ... as did the Big 10 ...not so the MWC...who had the best RPI for the entire country...which must mean again... that the computers are screwed up... By the way, Gonzaga , played like most of the collegiate scribes said they would... very poorly ...as they barely beat Southern ...oops, another of my final 4 picks...told you, I am awful at this Big Dance stuff... Idol ...OK, that they got rid of a guy...but the wrong o...

It's the singing show... American Idol ...where there are some very good ones in the mix...in fact, I think the best since Carrie ...really?...yup...I have a top 3 and... they are all gals...in fact, the top 5 all are ...but...that is not what the voting public will do...one or two guys will be  in the mix...not sure who... Let's go with this...there are going to be some very good weeks ahead...and the judges will have to save one of the good uns from the fan vote...maybe even tonight...speaking of the judges ...we tape it and fast forward when they speak...oh my... Survivor ...too bad that the re-grouped teams came out so imbalanced... the weak one will get whupped each and every week ...until the next change...the merge... Ah, the 1st day of spring ...the weather has been beautiful...and what has happened over the night? The Big Dance has started...the play in games, 'er the First Four they have been dubbed...with two very entertaining ones... NC A&T narrowly getting Liberty (?)...and the good one... St. Mary's dominating Middle Tenn St...dang they play great D...very fun to watch in this day in age...and the WAC people say yea!  "We're better than all the scribes have said..." In conjunction with the start of the aforementioned, is the NIT ...as the other teams play...you know the ones that didn't get in...the next level...in a different format...where the teams actually have home games...I like it...and...some surprises already...like Kentucky getting beat by James Madison...'er, somebody like that... Robert Morris ... BYU beat the Dawgs...who are turrible... Louisiana Tech beat Florida St...interesting... The Clips were up by 8 in the 4th at Sac...and los...

The optimism that has been exuded out of Padre land took a big hit yesterday...as 3B Chase Headley suffered a fractured thumb sliding in to 2nd...eegads!...that puts a big hole in the middle of the lineup...with Quentin day to day...our best 3 and 4 down...well...and with our potential starting pitchers just being average this spring...and the porches moved in...you figure it out... Some of you are asking about what I think about the Big Dance ...I gave you some teasers yesterday...it just might be the year that you pick by colors...or by your favorite mascots...but...it sure seems like if you go by chalk, it's the best bet...you're not betting, are you?...by the way, go to the betting line that Vegas puts out...that will really help you...go by that, and the Ducks are dogs...if you are trying to pencil them in your bracket buster... Dancing With The Stars ...nice beginning...have to admit I am real tired of the old guy being negative...these peops are trying their be...

Well now, did your team get in to the Big Dance? ...the massive D-1 Hoops Tourney...67 or 68 of the best teams in the country...I  mean c'mon, if you didn't get in...you have a better chance at the NIT ...it is still going on, right?... And the top 4 mentioned by Crazy Horse in yesterday's blog, are in the top 8...I will go through each of the regions and figure the correct choices...I am turrible at this...have no idea about the southern schools... The teams that have the best opportunity at getting to the final four... Louisville, Ohio St, Miami, Gonzaga, New Mexico ...here's the prob, 3 of those are in the West Region ...looking at the brackets, here are my revised thoughts, elite eight ... Louisville versus Mich St ... VCU versus Georgetown ... Gonzaga versus New Mexico ...and Syracuse versus Miami ... The over-rated ones are Duke, Arizona, UCLA, Florida... Bad mouth the US gals and we get one as the winner in Phoenix... Stacy Lewis , not only won it, but ...

If you could get by the TV announcers, you probably would have enjoyed the Pac 12 Champs , the U of O! ...as they thoroughly dominated the Bruins of UCLA ...and having watched them some 8-10 times, I will say that the offense they were running was different, quicker, and much more efficient...maybe it was the same sets, but this weekend they were attacking the basket...they always play hard...what made it hard to stomach was... the incredibly horrific commentary by the former UCLA, Boston Celt, SD Clipper, and PDX Blazer star .... Bill Walton ...whose constant banter and inexplicable ineptness was way too evident...and he kept heaping praise upon the Bruins up to the last 1:15 of the game...when it was wrapped up... BY THE DUCKS!... Today is the day that the Big Dance lineup is announced...did I say tourney?...that which is missing in only one sport in D-1...football...I digress...the selection committee has a tough journey this time around as there is not some clear choices or le...
