Took in a West game last night and there is promise on the horizon for that program...they have a nice freshman who will be a good one...already have a fine scorer in Tae...bring back their injured Saba next season and they are in the mix... hang in there, Scotty ... Played golf yesterday in the cold and mush...greens were great, though...hit it off the fairways, duh, and the ball gets swallowed up... I think I watch more Blazers when I'm down South... Kurt Warner finally retired from the NFL...good for him...too many concussions and too old... hint, Brett ... I forget how big a house this is ...good in some ways, bad in others...what am I going to do with all this stuff? Have you heard Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now".... great, great, song... Where's my rain hat ?

I can't believe I've been doing this for 500 days ...somebody must be reading this stuff... Apple is unleashing their new gadget, the ipad ...by all the hype of it , it sounds great...dang, if I didn't just get Marsh a Kindle! I watched the Blazers play last night...still without BRoy and a host of others...but...their PG play is awful!  Miller and Blake are the worst tandem in the game...Is that too harsh?  naw... The NFL All-Pro game is this weekend, prior to the Super Bowl...it's all crap...no players from the top 2 teams... crap I tell you ... The San Diego Open is upon us...look for Lefty to jump out of the gate real fast...no Tiger and it will show at the ticket selling... I'm heading back up to the great northwest and the weather here is back to normal.. . crap . ..

Finally, some great news out of Padre land...they signed Jon Garland to a contract...all 6'6" of him and give us a legit starter...really is a great move!  He recently has been with the Diamondbacks and Dodgers... So tickled to see the beaut of an upset in college hoops...cheater Calipari and his Kentucky Cats got beat by South Carolina ...super game plan by the Gamecocks and they have a great little guard that befuddled the top ranked Blue all night... so fun to watch ... The weather skipped us by this time around and the San Diego Open is off and running tomorrow out at Torrey...Lefty will dominate... I'm heading back up to the great northwest ...would like a bit of sunshine ...

So I know I gripe about this too much, but...the BSBCS just announced where all the non-playoff moneys go...get this... a split of all the $ that came in... the automatic in BSBCS conferences ( 6 of them ): Big Ten...$22.2 million Southeastern...$22.2 million the other 4 conf... $17.7 million each and the rest, the low-lifes, that are not auto in... Mountain West...$9.8 million Western Athletic...$7.8 million the 3 other conf that  qualify split $6.4 million ... $2.1 million each This is a record amount of $ and you can see why the BCBCS doesn't want a playoff...the bigs just get bigger this way... BRING IT DOWN ! The San Diego Open starts tomorrow out at Torrey...no Tiger, of course...but Lefty is in and that will draw the peops... The early line on the Super Bowl is the Colts by 5 , with an aggregate of 56...seems about right... As much as I hate this, but Kentucky (guys) is leading the nation in hoops...with the likes of Calipari running them...everywhere he...

Let there be no doubt to the best QB in football ... Peyton Manning clearly carries the honor as he weathered an early barrage by the Jets and settled in to whup up on 'em...I didn't think he would handle all the physical stuff that they would throw at him...duh... And, OMG, how many chances can the Viks have to knock off the Saints ...and blow most of them...and finally lose in OT...it will be a showing that the Minnesota people will think about for a long time... Favre had a masterful game until his last possession... Colts vs. Saints in the Super Bowl...nice!  See D-1 football, it's all about a playoff system... A sad note that I must write about...the passing of one of my best friend's father...John Bartlett's dad, Ed. Sr....as I was growing up in the Chemawa Indian community the entire population knew of just one COACH...it was Ed Bartlett ...he was revered as the man...he was the classiest, most honest , humbling guy that we all knew...I'll ne...

Good Sunday morning everyone... I'm doing my blog using my MacSpeech dictate ... Let's see how it goes... If you haven't seen the CBS Sunday morning show you're really missing out... It's all good news, and really interesting tidbits on people, you have to take it in... In all I think bin Laden is dead... I think he's been blown up big time in our first surge... However, information has come out that he's taking claim for the Christmas crap... He doesn't show his face, and I don't believe it... News out of Iraq is that we're out of Iraq... The Marines are spun cerium ceremoniously finally out of their period.. Like don't we have more coverage there? The NFL playoffs ... As much as I want Bret Farb to win with the bikes, they won't if the Saints , in a blowout... And in the other game, the Jets are just too powerful for the Colts... I have the Jets by 10+... The Blazers beat the unrecognized rise of bull distance, that should...
