You know the severity of the British Open ...with all the blokes complaining on the course and all...it just hit me...it's what I was playing in Vegas...remember the replica of the best (worst) of all the Scotland's golf courses ...where I said it was the toughest course I have ever played?...ah ha...I put one and one together and now...I get what the real golfers are saying... As they slash and flail about...through 18 holes of near misery...to be the champ...and I fear that no one but the final winner will say it was worth it...the creme has risen and it's the likes of Tiger, Lefty, and well ...you put the name in as the other...and who will probably win it...there is no safe spot...so the blokes just punch their shots and hope it stops... It is, however, great TV...and it is on right now... Need I say that the Pads lost last night?....of course, it was a disaster...gave up 9 runs...and then made a small rally in the 9th against a no namer...this is a sorry bu...

If you are a golf junkie, then you are going to lurve the ESPN Channel ...as they have been showing the British Open  since about 1:30 am...really...and I turned it on about at 6ish....and witnessed the closing of Lefty's and Zach's round...both under par...and Zach Johnson is the early leader ...at 5 under... Mickleson bogied the last...for a 2 under...and then talked about the set up of the course...not too happy...it's a different way of looking at the game...bounce most all shots up... Tiger? ...started brutally...hooked a 3 wood so far off line that he had a drop to keep, er get, his round going... ESPY's ...not a fan of most award shows...as you know...and I tried to watch some of it last night...nope...the interview of LeBron James...eegads...him declaring himself a superstar and all...just maybe these guys need more time in school...think before you talk... Johnny Heisman ...put a mike in front of him and you get something similar to LeBron...and he had to ...

So you think pitching doesn't dominate the sport?... the MLB All Star-game turned into a showcase for the elite pitchers in the league...paltry hitting by both sides...geez, I would have thought we were at a Pads game...wonderful set for the retiring best closer in the biz, the Yank's Mariano Riviera ...and he pitched well...still in the low 90's...and got the MVP ...good on him... The aftermath of the Zimmerman trial keeps going on and on...as the jurors are now speaking out...hey people, they are normal, just like you and I...and are not pros...so they just go with what is presented to them and they make their best judgments...I think that 6 is not enough, but I don't write the laws...and my oh my, there are those who want to make this a racial thing...is this the same group that cheered when OJ was sent free?...wasn't that a racial thing?... Del Mar opening day...they have like 45 to 50 grand at the wondrous place...been there, done that...just too craz...

Either you are a baseball follower or you are not ...there is no in between...and tonight's version of the "classic" is set in NYC...er, Met's Stadium...and there is always a set of problems lying around...like the best National League pitcher is not starting the game...so what?...well...the Bum's Kershaw feels slighted...as he is, in fact, the best...but the Mgr...of the LA hated Giants, Bochy, is going with the Met's best, Matt Harvey ...I think a good move...the PEDS thinger is hanging over the game...ie our own star, SS Everth Cabrera...and THAT will be talked about during the lulls of the game...baseball, nulls?...what?...and whomever wins the game, then that league has the home field advantage for the World Series...which has benefited the winner of the crown the past 3 seasons...OK, so win the game...stupid...it should have NO EFFECT on the best team...it's a showcase...and really, who the heck cares who wins or not... Hi Kids! ...had the other kids here for the weekend...it was great...although I was feeling punky, we still had a good time...rode bikes at PB and the weather was beachitis....throw out the Padres debacle... Speaking of SD , we rebounded with a big win against SF and Zito...10-1...what?...4 dingers and life was grand...go figure...one day no hit, and the next we look like the kings of swat... Anyway, the All Star break is a welcome relief... Del Mar opens up on Wednesday...'tis the season for me and mini-mees...the jockeys are the dominating force for my betting...and the super star Joel Rosario, is here for two days...so all the trainers will line up to get him on their hosses...Mike Smith, Rafael Berjarano, and the list goes on...even Chantal Sutherland will be here... Zimmerman trial backlash...there are those who want this to be a racial thing...awkward...as Zimmerman himself is not white...so what gives?...it's just the city of Sanford, Florida, against the blac...
