No strike

Image
Well, the NBA avoided a problem by signing a 2 year contract with their officials and thus, NO STRIKE...there is history about the problems with that union...gambling seems to be an issue as was using their flight tickets for things...not a fan of these guys...well, in fact, not a huge fan of many of the NBA players... Is the only offense Army, Navy, and Air Force allowed to run is the antiquated, boring, error prone, triple option? A lot of talk around here as to where the Chargers could move to...they want a more modern stadium...there has been many memos about Chula Vista and Escondido...I fear the new one built in LA (endorsed by the Guv) that may take the Bolts up there...NFL teams have a way of leaving cities for others (Colts, Rams, Raiders, Cardinals...) Yankees close out the Angels today...sorry LA, but you will have no one left... The Dux are 10 point favs at Huskie Stadium...this Washington team plays everyone close and I see taking the points...that is if I were a betting g...

Just get it right

Having coached for so many years...and having thought that at times I didn't get the right call...if there is an avenue to get the right call made and leave no doubt...then use it! Baseball has always fallen under the stupid statement of it's tradition...OMG, times change just because the people who put it together way back when had their vision, it's a nice view to have another better vision...technology has been the biggest change...use it...NOBODY disputes the call when it shows on the replay what really happened...the NFL uses it, the NBA is adopting it...now it's your turn MLB... the Pix... Florida over Mississippi St...duh Oregon over Washington...more hope than belief USC over Oregon St...20 1/2 pt. dogs, really? BC over Notre Dame...bye bye Charlie Alabama over Tennessee...one of my misses this year was on the Vols... 29-6 for the season... Snook, where the hell you been?

Rocky Colavito

As I wander back in my past and think about the history of baseball, as I see it...I think of my favorite player of all time...Rocco Domenico Colavito, Jr....aka Rocky Colavito...yes he was my hero...the HR hitter playing mostly for Cleveland...yup, the Indians (twisted)...a team still named the Indians...I've already gone there... Anyway, my older brother was a devout Yankee fan, thus I was against any thing he liked...Rocky was a long ball hitter, had a monster arm, and was loved by the public...he dropped out of high school to become a big leaguer...actually a NY native...took him 6 years to do it, but was established as a star...went from Cleveland to Detroit to Chicago to LA to Cleveland and finally ended on NY...that's maybe accurate... I had his baseball cards and they were coveted by me... And now the rest of the story... As my interest lessened in college I lost track of what had happened to him...I got married and me and my first wife took a trip to Southern Cali and ...

400th Post!

Image
Say It isn't so Bethenny! Oh no! Rumors are she is preggers and is engaged...the last cougar that wouldn't give in... So this is my 400th post and I can't believe I used the pre-mentioned blurb as my lead in... The Bolt's Turner kept his job yesterday...the GM Smith was getting most of the heat...regardless, there must be some type of move while the season is still correctable... The Yankees are smoking hot and the Angels are a minor burp in their quest for the Series rings... Without Tiger and Lefty nobody cares what's happening in the World Series of Golf...or whatever it's called... Did you see the Beavers are a 20 1/2 point dog at USC? 74* and rising...

Back...

After a brief 2 week vacation I'm back to Bolt country and things are not very Charger friendly...a bye week for them and they come out and stink up the home field is an indicator of where this team is going...if they keep the present headmaster...watch for a change to be made today... Odd loss yesterday for the Yankees at LA ... Stayed in Vegas for 4 days and had a great time with my Orygun buddies, Rick and Dennis...I actually made a little moolah and...it sure is easy to not the see the outside if you get entrenched in the games and all...prior to that in Orygun securing the casa and played golf with Cross and Gahr (cool) and had hospitality by our great neighbors the Morrises... Oh yea, my Pix...5-0! and now move on to a nifty 29-6 record...take that Vegas! 72* here...
