Two More Days

The debacle is near end...the waste of money, by trump, is now over...his lawyers have done all they could...spent whatever $ he would throw at them...and in his final hours of his incredible attempt to STOP the will of the people...the VOTE...the Supreme Court SHUT DOWN his last futile effort...Democracy has been preserved...and off we go...

His ego, bruised and shaken...the calls to the state's attorney generals...the rounding up of his totally bushwhacked Reps from the House...the intimidation of them and whomever will still follow the loon...it was all for naught...sure, he may try something else sinister...'Jared, get me Putin on the phone'...REALITY is, that he is done...KAPUT!...there is nothing else...pack your bags, buster...

And please, stop sending Jared and rolly polly Pompeo over the pond...like anywhere...the countries won't listen to those lame duck reps...ah, just what is Jared's title anyhoo?...the minister of madness?...wait, that has already been taken by Guliani...

The NBA has begun it's short, very short, preseason...11 days worth...and alas!...we must go to the Portland Trailblazers...they were on the tele last eve...vs the Sac Kings...OMG!...the coaching staff must have been reading the Horse's blog...for the 1st time in 10 years...drum roll please...PDX was hedging (double teaming) the pick and roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...oh my...I nearly jumped off me couch...well, I didn't...but, purnt nearly did...

This entire 'back to school' thing has had enormous impact on the numbers...of people infected with Covid 19....how can it not?...protect all you can, it's a mere disaster waiting to happen...especially in the colleges and universities...where many are boarded up together...if you live in one of their zones, YOUR life is affected...yet, the money speaks...the 'leaders' say to OPEN THE SCHOOLS!...almost a death march...apparently, youth can fight the virus...but, the family that they are in, can't...just another example...

Coach K...the hoops boss from the elite school in North Carolina...you know it, Duke...has suggested that perhaps, the basketball season shall stop...cease until...well, the virus is in check...some others balk, calling his comments team based...cuz,, he might have an inferior team this year...how many games have been canceled, postponed, or rescheduled due to one or both of the teams, have had too many players or coaches...with the virus?...

Would you send your son or daughter away to school in these times?...or shelter up and wait this out?...

Is the vaccine imminent?...the FDA approved an 'emergency' release to the Pfizer product yesterday...not exactly know what that means...I can assume that the health workers will start their process of inoculations...and, the word, er, rumor, is that the rest of us...will get the OK, by next week...I keep asking this...where is the Moderna product?...suggested by the powers to be, well, Dr Fauci...that you and I will get one of them...when?...that is the burning Q...

BUT, in the interim...we 'PLAY ON'...the games continue...in hoops, I watched a crazy hoops one...where the always down, Portland Pilots, beat the OSU Beavers...in Corvallis...interesting, as the PP team is coached by the former Blazer, Terry Porter...listen kids, it's all about the players...and he has recruited some good ones...this was no fluke...they are not down, but UP!...

The always entertaining football game, matching the Dawgs of Washington and the UO Ducks...is a no go...Covid...so many players and coaches, to elude the virus...it's a near miracle to be able to field a team...right?...which leads me to the notion of a national championship playoff...ridiculous...play what you can, and call it a year...but a champ?...get real...

And...the continuance of brilliant coaching and winning ways of the SD Aztecs hoops...went into Arizona St and beat the Sun Devils...the red and black, play terrific defense...if you like all out play, try to catch them on the pixels...

We need some good news!...well, here you go...the FDA is (might) rule on the Covid 19 vaccine, the one from Pfizer TODAY!...let's get it on!!!...this, after yet another record breaking day of deaths from the virus...over 3100 Americans died!...I know I keep beating this item, but where the Hell is trump while this is going on?...you, who are his believers, doesn't this bother you at all?...despise the bastard...

Many are concerned about who gets the vaccine first...it has to be the health workers for sure...imagine that job of theirs...watching so many people die...trying to save lives...without a doubt, they must be the first in line...have not heard from Moderna...are they close?...as much as we can get our country vaccinated, the better we are...duh...

I read where a Floridian pastor was encouraging his parishioners to NOT get inoculated!...lord, please help him and them...where do these people get off?...

It would be beneath all of your quality minds, if I gave you the best of 2020...cuz, it has been a horrific year...perhaps I should say THE WORST of 2020...everything pales to the Covid 19, easily number 1...there is a 2nd and 3rd...but, all related...the tragic numbers of people who have been infected with the virus, and then...the worst part...the deaths...we are in the blitz of a lifetime...that will be remembered forever...if we can make it through it...

The lack of leadership in our country has made it even worse...absolutely no guidance as to what to do...in fact, just the opposite...what trump has said, and done, has made the dire situation inferior to all standards of life...the release of the memo that he rejected the money for the virus aid in the summer, that Pfizer just then turned into other directions...ah, countries...is more of an indication as to the unfit ability of this guy as president...it just piles up...

As he continues his attempt at a blockade of the people's wishes...the Biden/Harris win...somehow, he figures that the will of the masses, will turn...the Supreme Court just dealt with one of his last ditch injunctions...to overturn the vote of Pennsylvania...ah, it went out in 5 minutes, 9-0!...it's over, donny...pack your bags and get OUT!...NO MORE of your shenanigans...get your arse out of the White House...tennis pavilion and all...

Back to the Horse list...as we took a bike ride thru downtown yesterday, we noticed the impact of the LOCK DOWN!...there is no one around...the restaurants and bars are all shuttered...many have just cleared out...no mas...there are street people roaming about...but, their numbers, are down too...gone where?...wherever there is no shut down, I reckon...how's it in Arizona?...we tried...we ordered a breakfast from our neighborhood spot, Richard Walkers...we were the only one there...just a matter of time, kids...and this would be number 2...

The travel ban...stay put...mask up...social distance...don't meet with anyone...so hard to do, as we are people...that need people...ah, yes, Barbra...your song...well, it's a must...until we all get the vaccine...if there is enough to go around, thank you donny...from where our condo sits, we can see the endless line of airplanes come into SD...that too, has been dwindling...a lot...number 3...my list stops right there...

So, we need to make the best of this bad time...get out and exercise...golf, ride bikes, swim, walk, or...if you live in the snow zone...do what Snooki chose as his song for the day...take a 'Sleigh Ride' by Johnny Mathis...absolutely one of the best Christmas singers there is...I have at least 3 vinyls of his for Xmas...

Football...they are trying to play...each and every week, there are more players infected...so the games are canceled...ah, nobody wants to play Ohio St...they could get into the playoffs with only 4 games played...ah, what?...this idea of a championship is absurd...chalk it up as undoable...and wait for next year...in the NFL, very similar, but they play the games regardless...does Dallas play the Chargers?...the only chance for either team to get a W...probably would end in a tie...

Hoops...from what I have seen, the Big 10 (14) has some quality teams...really fine ones...and in the NBA....the Beard (James Hardin) wants a trade...I would pay to watch a practice session if he went to the Spurs...and he had to adjust to Coach Pop...priceless...

Have you ever looked behind your TV/Stereo drawer (cabinet) in your living room?...all them wires and whatever...connected to what?...the cable tv, the blu ray, the internet thinger, the CD player, the Apple TV, the turntable...ah, what have I left out?...all to the sound system...how does this work?...it's a mess...I had a regional manager from COX out last year, and he said 'don't touch them' if it is working...ha ha...well, my Xmas present to myself, is that I have a mister fixit dude coming out this am...to clean all this shit up...lordy, I hope he knows what he is doing...

The grocery stores are open...as are the restaurants...that is, for carry out only...the bars are kaput...the parks are done...at least we can ride our bikes, and actually sit on the benches this time around...the last time, there was actually police tape all over...everywhere...where one could not go...how'd that work out?...

The eyes are all on the UK...as of today, they have started their mass inoculations of the Pfizer Covid 19 vaccine...probably the headlines for most of my 23 sources this am...YES!...hopefully we are soon to follow suit...right?...

Yet, your guy trump...nary a word about it...the 'leader?'...OMG!!!...he is still trying to sabotage the Nation's vote...as I have queried often, 'has he no shame?'....ha ha, nope...the most selfish bastard that has ever taken hold of the White House...

The Holiday Season?

Never in our generation, has this just smacked us right dab in our faces, right?...as we brace for yet another SHUT DOWN!...this will last a minimum of 3 weeks, as we were told yesterday...closure of most everything...stay at home, is the decry...well, here in SoCal...which is from Santa Barbara all the way down to us in San Diego...yup, including LA...we are all in it together...it's absolutely debilitating for the businesses...all of them...in this festive of all times, the Holiday Season?...no longer that...

As we absorb the news from our Guv, the idea of what that pompous ass of a leader, trump, did in Georgia is beyond comprehension...held a revival there, last eve...gather up his forevers, in his normal manner...subjecting all of them, to the horrors of the Covid...maskless, and certainly, not social distanced...as he continues his rant on election fraud...beating the drum to get more money for his debts...wasn't he there for support of the Repub candy peops?...right...

That figure that he is wishing for...is now at $207 million...in the fine print of what YOU give to him, YOU forevers...75% of it, he can use for whatever he wants...the DJT...YOU must realize that, and want to help the poor _astard out...swell, YOU are doing just that...congrats...

As I mentioned yesterday, after the UO/OSU game is over...so is the football season...the Ducks, got beat at Cal (as Dandy Don would sing 'turn out the lights the party's over')...and the undermanned Beavs put up a fight at Utah, but succumbed...this Covid season is just a blur, perhaps a blip on the screen...

Ohio St and 'Bama are the two teams that are destined to fight it out for this season's crown...ah, like most every other year...so it seems...throw in Clemson, and there you go...hey, that jovial coach from LSU...who won it last season, is a far cry from that now...looks more like a jackass...it's easy to win, but hard to lose...

It's so difficult to not see your kids...well, our kids...the vid phone is priceless...we had scheduled a trip there for Christmas...but, alas, that has fallen thru, due to the shut down...

We are so dependent on the television...now...perhaps, more than ever...

Food?...equally dependent...on whatever we have frozen...we call it 'dumpster diving'...cuz, it's at the bottom of our refer, and we (she) has to bend over to search for the items to reheat...ha ha...

We spent hours yesterday afternoon...on the deck...listening to classic Christmas music...Dean Martin, Johnny Mathis, Doris Day, Connie Francis...with a fire and a couple of bubblies...that's all we have now...gosh, that seems so sad...it wasn't...

I would say less than 10% have decor up...with all the condos surrounding us, that is NOT NORMAL...have people just given up?...or, are they at their other living space?...

Try 'Emily in Paris'...Netflix...it is a diversion...and that's what we all need right now...

The Boeing Max airplanes are back up in the skies...egads, let's hope they have the instructions...of course,  can't see us flying for awhile...

The Beard to Sacramento?...a feint rumor that has surfaced...can't imagine...

Interest in this?...NFL stuff...the NE Pats are in LaLa for the matchup with the Chargers...even with the lack of talent, HC Bellychick will out coach this Charger dude...21-17...chalk it up...Browns will get mauled by the Titans...Vegas Raiders at the winless Jets, a Jimmy crack corn game...new coach at Detroit, so a win over the hapless Bears...and the Washington (skinless) football team to get pulverized by the unbeaten Steelers...take it to the bank...
