CRAZY HORSE

I know it's early....but the media did it's pre-season pix for the Pac-12 Football Season ...and in the north , it is the Ducks and Stanford, again...interestingly, the Beavs are ranked 3rd...ahead of UDub...hmmmm....and in the south, UCLA over ASU...and the Trojans 3rd.....fresh off of a vote of confidence for their coach...ha ha...kiss of what?...I think Zona is going to be much improved...watch out for them.... Eegads, the Pads got drilled bad at the DBacks...10-0...remember I said that this was a make or break series...well...just a hint of what is on the 2nd half agenda...and an article in the Trib...how Gregerson is coveted by others ...really?...let's do it...whatever the trade is, take it... The star RB out of the Vikings, Adrian Peterson , said that there were lots of usage of PEDS in the  league...calls it common use...yup, that sport will be next...and it will change it loads...especially in the offensive line...I'm just saying... There is a speed ...

It's that time of the summer, that the MLB teams are just messing with ya ...they get your spirits up by dropping hints of possible trades...how the new guys are going to fit...and make your team that much better...if you look at the other side, the teams are saying good riddance to the blokes that are leaving...as far as SD is concerned, the new management has said all along that they were going to improve this squad...well...there has been no movement...thus, by not moving, it is better?...what?...a lot of talk about certain teams wanting one or two of our closer guys...ha ha...you name the price and they are yours...one week to go... With all the goof ball play, we slide into Arizona....where now...seriously...we make or brake our season...what?...it's true...we sweep them and we are right back in the race...hard to believe...too many holes in our starting staff to do it...but we all can dream, right?... Big Brother ...well now...if you follow it, you are as bored as ...

The latest version of Forbe's Magazine ...has the ranking of the top colleges and universities for 2013...not that you or I went there...or that we could have afforded it...and the number 1 was no surprise... Stanford ...but...sandwiched between the 3rd best, Princeton , was the this smallish college from Claremont Cali...yup, Pomona College ... number 2 ...it's been forever, that I have been touting how  hard it is to get into that school... OK, it's where my son went ...and it taught him how to study...I'll never forget his question to me one eve in his 1st semester there... "dad, do you expect me to get straight A's?" ...telling me how rigorous the courses were...not one student graduated from there with a 4.0...in his class...yet, most all of them entered with nothing but A's...different world for sure... And he goes back often...and is very proud of his school...as I have been... this ranking just solidifies what I have been saying now for 1...

So I am not like a Rex Reed ...you remember him?...but...I can have my own thoughts about what I see and hear...right?... Crazy Horse knows...and I promised you a review of the concert we went to last eve... The venue... Sycuan ... absolutely wonderful! ...smallish setting...terrific sound...all cushy seats and backs...like what you would find in a theater...a whole gaggle of ushers and guiders...a bar inside for those in need of such a thing...and the rest rooms within walking distance...and you don't have to leave the theater to go...which all leads to a more subdued setting... Sara Evans ...it has to be our 4th or 5th time seeing her...no no, no stalking...however...I must say she may be the best looking 42 year old around ...she came out in shorts...kind of a gamble...naw...she rocks...and her voice?...deep and downright dynamic ...started the set with a non-stop belt of her earlier hits...she had an 8 piece band behind her...a good one...she finally got the mike and sho...

Ooh Baby Baby ...see yesterday... the Brits have their new in line king...3rd in line...yet to be named son of Kate and Willy...this is BIG news...what?...just what do they do?...c'mon peops...of course we have the K fam, so I guess we are equal... I don't think the Americans would buy into the Crazy Horse family as it's honorary 1st one... The Bachelorette ...did you see the voice of the last guy coming?...dang, he sang well...she seemed a bit feisty when she dealt with some of the blokes she voted off on the "Bachelors Tell All" session...hasn't she got them enough?...ha ha... but I watched it... So, it's Sara Evans this eve...out at Sycuan...not the best seats...but not real sure cuz we haven't been at that venue before...this is like the 4th or 5th time...she's that good... The Pads won...scored decently (5) and got great reliever work...yes, ie Gregerson, and Gopher Street...and this leads me to...the ban... Baseball's 1st MVP...

I was thinking back in my time...way back in my time...about the great singers that passed through my ears ...and realized that there were a whole gaggle of them...really good ones...and some go unnoticed for the most part...like James Taylor , for example...he has had so many wonderful songs to sing along to...you get the idea... One of them is legendary songstress, Linda Ronstadt ...my age to boot...her claim to fame were hits like Blue Bayou , You're No Good, Different Drum ...amongst others...she actually started in the country field, went pop, then dabbled in the classics...all very good stuff...my favorite of all?...her connection to Nelson Riddle and his Orchestra ...check it out, kids... Of course, I am into real songs now...not the synthesized crap that the record companies are putting out...so, the country people are easily my favorites...must be my age and stuff showing through...are you going to iTunes?...if not, I hope you have a good site...I'm all mac, so i...

Well now, I had a prediction right, for a change... Phil Mickelson, alias Lefty , won the British Open ...shot a final round 66 ...that's right, in that pasture land called a golf course...oops, I'm not bitter...I just think it's a ridiculous set up...hit it on the ground and hope it misses all the gopher holes, called pot bunkers...Tiger?...never got it going...and the doubters will be singing the "over" song on him on the pundits shows...you know which ones...fugget about it...he's still way good...but...Lefty is on and it shows...very popular win...abroad and here... What?... the Padres looked like a real team yesterday!...methodically beat the league's best, the Cards...as the pen (minus Gregerson) held up...ie Gopher Street...timely hitting and good D...here's the deal, can we win 2?... Started the 1st season of "The Network" ...actually through 3 episodes...it is a great series...stories within the stories...get on board, kids......
