Collision Sport

Normally I am in agreement that the rules of baseball are historically pretty solid...and as technology has improved (or even been invented) it should be used to correct the failed calls in the game...or justify what was called...a red flag or something would be OK...or even, somebody up stairs calling down to review a play...it's not like the game is break neck speed...
However, there is a play that must be eliminated...the collision of the runner and the unprotected catcher, bracing himself with the impending doom...it's near a criminal act that needs to be abolished...hey, I know a bunch of your purists who say that it should remain...I say get your fat ass down there and YOU take the hit then...GET RID OF IT!
The play that has ruined SF's catcher, Buster Posey, is just another example of such an example...

Memorial Weekend

Apparently the weekend now begins on Thursday...not too bad, huh...so it's a little golfing, fishing, traveling, picnicking, eating, praying...well, it's a full boat of options...

Hey, it's cool that Scotty won Idol...he was the pick for many a peops throughout this land...and I think he can make it...Lauren is a cinch to boot...I had a thought that she would win from the outset...I have not watched the final show yet...was it good?

The Mavs did another number on the Thunder (Supersonics) and won the series 4-1...bring on the Heat, I say...geez, I can't believe I'm pulling for the Mavs...

The Pads GM still makes the case that the hot prospect Rizzo is not ready for prime time...really, it's the options business...can't bring him up till June 1 due to money concerns...why can't they just say that?

This seems like a Sunday to me...

NBA Playoffs

Really, I don't care who wins this playoff season in the NBA...do, however, feel it will be the bloody Heat and the Mavs...and that, my fellow friends, will be a very good series...the Bulls, have no offense...at least none that I can find...if Rose can't go one on one, nuttin happens...and OKC, is a year away from being real...and Westbrook has to back off and listen to the coach...that being said, I rate the remaining two as a toss up...

Did you catch the finals of DWTS?  Hines be the winner, and of all things, your gurl Kirstie, came in second!  What?  Chelsea was much the better dancer...bah humbug to the public...how could you?

As I am writing this, Idol hasn't barked out the winner yet...like I have been saying for a bit, that Scotty is the prohibitive fav...just like Chelsea, the final showing has little effect on the outcome, I fear...as Lauren was better last night...hey, they both are money makers in the future...a sidelight, I would have liked to hear Pia move on and that was a too bad moment...

The bottoming out Pads scraped a win this afternoon against the Cards...Latos finally got a win, going 8...off they go on the road, and none to soon...you think I'm negative, you should hear the folks around town...

And the shuffle begins

For all of you Padre fans...the shuffle begins...that's right...the underachievers will be sent down to the minors and the deserving youngsters will be brought up...or so you'd think...doesn't happen that way kids...it's about who has options to bounce around...just so happens Will Venable has such a match...not necessarily he is the one that needs to go...and they bring up a kid from double A....never heard of him in any of the blurbs...odd, huh...the major goofs have no such clauses and have to be dropped, outrighted, traded....and the Pads eat the contract....you put faces to the deserved and then the real change begins...stay tuned...

Idol tonight...not since Carrie Underwood performed has there been such a prohibitive favorite to win Idol...Scotty has the huge lead, so says many of the polls...and the underdog, Lauren, has the benefit of the afore mentioned Carrie to help her in her song...not bad...either way, these two youngins will be $ makers...mark my word...

Happy Birthdays

It's my good friend's birthday, Laurie Snook....and I say happy birthday to her...but it got me a thinking...just when did this type of festivity first begin...so I did the normal seeking online...and, of course, it is controversial...the different faiths take credit and pretty much say it started before the birth of...wait, not all believe in this...OK, I say we all need special days in the year...and why not the birth date?  But, there are those of you out there that don't want their ages posted...so, is there a time to stop the celebrations?  And if you go by the extravagance of the Housewives of Beverly Hills...stop it...I know I look forward to it...so this Hoff, is for you, Ms. Snooki...

Mark you calendar...get ready to download your Kindle...get on ibooks for your ipad...tomorrow is the day...the release of the expose of your gurl, Sarah, is hitting the market...and the rumor is, it's not too flattering...geez, is that a possibility?

And now it's a closed door meeting for the Padres after their latest debacle...a 3 game sweep at home for the Mariners...where the awful SD'ers scored a whopping 1, ein, uno, one, yet, yup, one run in THREE games...as the journey continues on for the most futility in the history of the game...well, Bill Walton, that may be a bit severe...as the time gets closer to actually bring up the young guns to salvage the season...you see, it's all about the $...if the GM brings 'em up too soon, they have to pay more...and you, the fan, must keep the faith...well, Padre's brass...you need to do your job and get the right guys in here, so the public will watch the team...it's now a guessing game, who first to get fired?

Horsing Around

I never, ever, bet on a horse that is over heating, aka washed out...and if I followed that pattern I would have never bet on Shackleford, the eventual winner of the Preakness...the 2nd leg of the Triple Crown...sure, it's easy to figure after the fact...but, throw in 14 hosses, that all have chances...tough bet, my friends...and, at Hollywood Park yesterday, the pick 6 was hit for, get this, $733 grand...

Oh my, the hapless Padres...shut out at home, again...6 times this season already...some sort of all time one...and the Mgr. Black says he can't put a finger on why it is happening...OMG...they are turrible...turn away, they are hideous...I told you yesterday about the consistency of the sublime and ridiculous SD squad...K'd 13 times, 2 errors, and zero runs scored...can't put my finger on it...!

Hey, the Mavs are for real...as they rocked the Thunder (Supersonics) at Oklahoma City...jumping out to a huge lead and held on...very similar to the race by Shackleford...

The runners are lining up for the Repub side of the Prez race...however, I'm not sure if I have ever heard of most of 'em...
