As we are lying on the beach yesterday in 80* weather I surmised that it doesn't get better than this in May...I think about how close it is to get here...that I walk 3 blocks to a Padre game ...that every type of restaurant I can think of is right below my condo ...that at 9 pm I wear shorts and a t when I'm walking the dog...that my wife walks 1 block to her work ...that I am not working ...that I have over 30 golf courses near by , and, they are affordable...that I have a concert venue that begins in June that has great acts (Humphrey's)...that my dog is regular again...that I have an NFL team in town that I can call my own...that the bay is 2 blocks away...yes, it doesn't get better than this ... Are you watching the PGA this week? It's the Players and Lefty was up to his old tricks... military golf and he really did great to keep it at one over...an Orygun boy, Ben Crane , has the 1st round lead... Tiger is in the field... The Padres pulled ...

The Padres can't seem to get any hits ...thus no runs. The same formula ruined a masterful 12 K outing by Jake Peavy and the Pads got whupped 3-1...see you have Kyle Blanks who tore up spring training and is now doing the same in AAA...maybe bring the lad up and make some hay...but hey... Hockey in the NBA ...with the fights and all in the playoffs it has become a gladiator thing...I think it is funny that this is what it has come to...the Lakers doing their version of playoff basketball is a joke and, quite frankly, not much fun to watch.... American Idol ...not getting the votes was the girl...who had a marvelous rendition of Janis Joplin's Cry Baby ...the mass public likes the clean cut Kris boy...not my cup of tea, but obviously is for many others...still think that Adam is a can't miss ...the others...no way. Thank goodness for Brian Giles ! Clutch double in OT produced the winning run as the Pads split a pair at home. Great pitching from Will Geer and Heath Bell preserved it.... Jake Peavy goes tonight and I'm heading over... King James won the MVP in the NBA ...yup and he deserved it...the Cavs whupped the Hawks in game no. 1... American Idol ...it's the girl and Adam all the way...of course who knows what the masses come up with...but those two can actually make a CD that I would buy ... Did you watch the Dancing With The Stars last night? The level of play has increased and there are 4 who could win ...one that will not is the cowpoke and he has danced his last dance. Cheryl Burke's partner and Bachelor Girl are the favorites .... Rubber faced Joan Rivers and selfish poker lady Annie Dukes ... Just what is the appearance fee for these "stars?"...what ever it is it couldn't have worked worse for Melissa Rivers ( rubber faced, too ) as she came out looking like a spoiled brat, paranoid, and generally a mess ...what on earth were the Chicken of the Sea board members doing not taking Clint Black's jingle version? Which leads me to, Annie going off on how great she is for out dueling Clint in the jingle contest... gag ... I could just change the name of Peavy to Chris Young and write the same article...as the Padres go down without any hitting... It is a broken record...and get this Bud Black rests Headley and Giles and moves Kooz to 5th in the lineup! OMG !!! Sit Kouzmanoff will you!!! By the way, did you see the NBA did not discipline Rondo of the Celtics for their win over the Bulls yesterday... what money ?
