Deserved

Much to my chagrin...the Bums, now the Dodgers, beat my team...deservedly so...man, shutting us out for 2 2/3rds games....well, if that isn't a beat down....on they go...to face the NY Mets...I stand with the west coast team...GO DODGERS...

Now, my other hope...the Ducks hosting the Buckeyes...today a 4:30 kickoff...another underdog...please, oh please, UO....don't get shut out...can't go thru that again....ha ha...yes, I think that the Ducks have yet to play their best....perhaps, this is the day...this OSU coach has a knack of blowing big games...

Kind of funny...we dressed in our Padre gear, for our din din across the HWY....def in LA Bum territory...and we made the management turn the game on....weird...and get this....there was 2/3rds capacity filled at the bar-b-q joint...and not ONE LA cap or jersey on...we were the only ones that seemed to care...but, back at the RV park, the fans were tooting their bloody horns for the Bums...must be MAGAS, too...

I laughed at the news, that VP Kamala is releasing her medical report...like trump will do the same...he is a walking heart attack bloke...one Big Mac away...hey, didn't he say he was going to release his taxes?...ah, that was like 10 years ago...still in audit, I reckon...and he is asking for more protection...like in the sky, too...I did see that Prez B warned Iran, that an attempted assassination on trump by them, is an act of war...

Hmmm, wasn't it back when Oswald supposedly, the lone assassin, killed Prez JFK, an act of war, too?...that is if he was a Soviet spy...oh, right...he did that out of his own thinking...all alone...

Here We Go

The lead...the Friars at the Bums...game 5....winner take all...move on to play the Mets...the loser?...golfing in the morning...the line clearly has LA the favorite...I figure that is probably right....home game...with them big bats...hey, it's what they play for...to win...am hoping for the best...

We are on our Cosmo trip...ran into a gal from Salem...no kidding...small world...knew many of the same folks we do...at our fav bar stop in this town...Shimzy's...just a hop and step...well, a run across Hwy 1...

I read about your guy trump....doing Bozo things...addressing his revival in Detroit, Michigan...and get this...he insults the city...while there!...the narrative is that he does this in primarily black cities...naw, he isn't racial...he is about to enter the desert...like Palm Desert...hmmm...wonder what keen words of wisdom he will lay on those people...

Game Day in Eugene?...cool...man, I bet this will be a doozy...figure the game will be too...tomorrow...4:30 pm kickoff...that is better than the 8 pm slot...much much better....I kind of feel like the same way I do about the Friars, for the Ducks chances...underdogs, but hopeful...

The one thing that we have found on all our camping...er, RV trips...the people are generally very nice...and all have the same thing...getaways...and LOVE fires...we got wood already for Carp...Pismo, too...

The WNBA champ series...dang, Sabrina's team blew a big lead in game 1 and lost in OT...at home...in NY...

In the aftermath...the storm in Florida...terrible, and loss of life and property...devastating...just weeks after the previous one....has to be scary...in the near future, too...

Foggy here...and won't get much warmer than in the 60's...today...bike ride in our plans...

Back to LA

The delight of catching a game with your son...makes no difference of the outcome of the game...just to be there was so cool...rad...awesome...the bomb...far out....well, far out was the play of the home team Friars...had a game to lose, and that's what happened...the fans?...raucous...the team?...flat...and the deservedly winning team?...the Bums, well not last nite, they were the Dodgers...won the game with terrific pitching, defense, and booming bats...all that the Padres did NOT HAVE!...so, back to LA for the decider on Friday...let's hope the real Friars show up for that one...

Over on the other coast...the hurricane that hit Florida...turns out it was massive, but not the turn of the century one that some were predicting...just now looking at the destruction left behind...that state is so vulnerable for that storm surge....and it will only get worse, I fear...warm waters....

I keep wondering the why's...very little coverage of the Ohio St at Oregon matchup for Saturday...what is the reasoning?...am curious about the 3 1/2 point line on it, too...guess we shall just have to wait and see...have my PNW reporter, Snooki, on the game...to give you first hand info...

A hint from the Horse...nobody is mentioning Indiana...take a peek at their scores...they have been walloping all opponents...Nebraska is next for them...then, the Dawgs...if they get thru them, then we have a new team to be looking at for real...

An observation...being at the game...is diff, much diff from the comfy confines of the couch...the exhilaration from the crowd, is cool...but, guessing where pitches are, is frustrating...so used to instant replays...at home...and nothing, ain't nothing cheap...at the ball yard...$20 buck beers...however, being there with your son...no price too much for that... 

Bedlam in the Gaslamp

As you might imagine, there is a feeling of...euphoric bliss...in the Gaslamp Quarter...here in SoCal...ah, well, south SoCal...San Diego...as the game 3 of 5 set...the Friars rode a humongous 6 run 2nd inning...to a WIN...against the hated Bums of LA....yup, them fat cats of MLB...sporting some of the best bats in the game...oh so hot, Jr...Tatis...led the way again...outstanding was the relief corps...and well, here we go...one game to get...

Our son, is arriving today....and we jaunt over to Petco Park, for game 4...terrific seats...and will wear our best Padre gear...yes, maybe, just maybe...we can get the W....and move on...to the winner of the Mets/Phillies series...for the National League crown...let's not get ahead of ourselves....we have to win one more...

That's the positive...here is the negative...

The storm surging towards Florida in the Gulf....of Mexico...cat 4 or 5, depending on the timeline...it appears to hit land, this evening...central coast of that state...early signs say that this may permanently change the coastline...that bad...as highlighted on most of sites that I read in the am...this is early, kids...and the season for the storms...is just beginning...the gulf waters are soooo warm....that triggers all this mayhem...

Bob Woodward...the journalist...you recall Woodward/Bernstein....'All the President's Men'...the unraveling of President Nixon...terrific flick...he is still at it...and has a new Prez that is in his sights...yup, trump...and has a new book out...'War'...which hits the book shelves on October the 15th...man, that date sounds familiar to moi....and for sure, the Horse will get it...then report to you what is...there...donny and his henchmen, have already let out, that it is filled with lies...he should know best, about telling lies...

VP Kamala Harris had a full day of hitting the airwaves....on 'The View', then on Howard Stern's radio show, and finally, on the CBS late nite, Stephen Colbert...not avoiding the press, like trump is...BTW, she was terrific on 'The View'...yup, we watched it...

BTW, we voted yesterday...when do you?...

'Your Honor'....is a must see on Netflix...we just finished the 1st season...man, oh man...must see...

Strange...when the #2 and #3 teams in collegiate football square off...it is usually HUGE...like non-stop coverage and predictions...Ohio St at Oregon...and I am telling you NOWHERE am I seeing the pundits get after this game...why?...just don't get it...we shall be in Carp, hope my tele can pick it up...

Think the NY Jets aren't a mess...already?...fired their HC after a 2-3 start...hey, these owners are rich fat cats, who use the team as tinker toys...spoiled affluent brats...who treat their employees as pawns...didn't donny have an AFL team back when?...ah, right...USFL...fits the mold perfectly...BTW, the QB of the Jets?...Aaron Rogers...ah, think he was behind the dismissal?...not a fan...

This is the time of the year, that all these pro sports overlap...here comes the NBA, the NHL, with the already going NFL, and in the playoffs are the WNBA...and the MLB...seems that these sports are too long, right?...

Playoff Vibes

Ah, the beauty of sport...where we can, as fans, enjoy intense rivalry games...none better than the Friars and Bums...both of these squads want to win...especially against one another...bad blood?...maybe...in beisbol, there is that chance of a 100 mph fast ball, coming at you...which usually triggers the avalanche of emotion to erupt...let this be known, ON THE FIELD...not in the stands...

Used to be...there you go Horse, talking ancient times...people showed up at these games, dressed in suits and derby type hats...well, that was a ton of years ago...then, it progressed to casual wear...and just a few of the garb that said YOUR team's name...but, they did have the home team's caps...NOW, fans come in full regalia...many, very similar to that their team wears...ON THE FIELD!...

Alas, game 3 is now in our town...our city...San Diego...probably the most crucial game to date this season...duh...my son and I have tix for Wednesday's 4th...wouldn't it be nice...if we could get tonight's match up...you know, like win it!...be classy, San Diego...

The impending doom of the storm that is heading towards Florida...the Cat 5 one...the path is straight head on to Tampa...where their mayor warned her constituents 'if you stay you will die!'...enough for me, I would head on out...just not sure where to go...inland?...I guess...north?...man, I am sure glad we sold our property there...in this past year...

Hey, how about another hot ticket...this Saturdays game....football...as Ohio St invades Autzen...as it has turned out, the numbers 2 and 3 teams in the land...the Buckeyes are 3 1/2 point favs...always a problem for moi, for the home team to be the dog...ah, underdog...drives up more intensity...I'm not sure that the Ducks have played their finest ball, yet...which just may mean, a superior effort...Snooki has tix and will be there screaming his knads off...shout out his tonsils....does he still have them?...

I had this dream that I ran into one of my former refs...and he told me that he didn't like me...I got news for you, buddy, I don't like you either...

My brain freeze...I did not write yesterday, and thus...did not talk about the 10-2 whomp of the Bums on Sunday...the LA fans got gnarly and it was uncomfortable...for the Friar, standing in the field of play...that was what was triggering my first 3 paragraphs for today's blog...

One more thing about the Tom Jones Concert, at SDSU...the crowd was almost all geezers like us...and walking thru the campus, there were soccer games going on...kids at parties...dressed, well, I already covered that...a lot of life, outside of the concert...cool...

Speaking of cool...it is nice to see the KC Royals beat the Damn Yankees...BTW, whoever changed the name of the Cleveland Indians to the Cleveland Guardians...well, this guy or gal, should be tarred and feathered...name them after trump, the Cleveland Convicts...

Interesting line of thinking...the Russian economy is staggering...which could lead to what went on when they invaded Afghanistan...ran out of money, and thus couldn't get enough ammo to continue on...perhaps, this will save Ukraine, too...

Let's look at this...trump won't do another debate...and now, he won't go on 60 Minutes...listen, Dude, you are not going to win over the 'undecideds' that way...thing is, there are no undecideds left...so, maybe him bypassing them, is justified in his thinking...but, he doesn't think...so, he is afraid...Bozo is afraid of talking...blabber your way thru your revivals, makes no diff what you say to them...they are already in your corner...

Crazy World of College Football

If I told you that Vandy would beat the #1 ranked, Alabama...you would have thought I was CRAZY!...well, I didn't...no way, Jose...BUT, they did!...amazing, thorough beat down of the Tide...the only rolling was the roll over of the Tide...shocking, if you were just scrolling thru the scores...however, I was watching it...and it was highly deserved...think there isn't more and more of this?...with the bloody lack of screening of transfers...anyone can go anywhere...parity is upon us...

Tennessee went down too...the Dawgs beat Michigan...Texas A&M snacked Mizzou...Minneeesota beat the Trojans...BUT, Miami U came from 25 down and escaped from the Bear's caldron...39-38...that was way too late for the Horse to gander at...so, the Top 10 should be mighty interesting...especially with Ohio St visiting Eugene this next weekend...think that the Ducks and their fans, won't be going CRAZY?...

The party at the home, turned sour...as the bats of the Bums proved too much for the Friars, in game 1...Shohei was the big bopper, like he has been all season...we made some costly mistakes...and to beat them, can't do that...game 2 today...a must win for the Pads...

Lost in all the above...my FF team is 2-2...and need some poof from the new starting QB for the Horse...yup, Coach Gomer Pyle has inserted Bear's youngin, Caleb Williams, in the lineup...a risky move...but, he felt it was time for the lad to showcase his skills...

Back to college football...I still sense that the Duck win over Boise St, was a bigger thing than most people gave them credit for...the BSers are better than what the analysts said about them...that they got early in the season...it's a good team...

Gonna finish with this...a tidbit from here at the Home...we all got a notice to use less soap when cleansing...?...when we do our laundry and shower down our beautiful bodies...say what?...causing suds to back up in some drains....thus, if you San Diegans about town...smell some very rich cats roaming about in the upper echelon franchises...that aroma is the elite of the Pinnacle...
