OMG! ...7 straight losses... the diving Padres ...speak up Buditch...it's a colossal collapse by 'em...can't hit and now can't pitch...as they make their way through the east...first of all, losing a series to the hapless Marlins is as low as you can go...the Floridians think of Miami as a joke...then the spectacle in Boston...well, it is absolutely embarrassing....one of the the beat writers for the Trib called this out...a devastating trip...before it happened...and it is... OK OK OK ...I have let it burn me...but, Headley finally had a couple of hits... actually got a dinger ...and SS Cabrera got back in the lineup...two positive things...and for all the horrendous happenings this time around, they are still bet 4 or 5 back...I choose not to look...but if Gregerson and Gopher Street are still our closers, no lead is ever safe...that is, if we ever get another lead... And I have yet to gander on them due to the trip...a good thing...cuz nobody carries them bac...

All right All right ...for our last day we got the great weather and the great waves!...so what did we do?...We were boogie boarding ...good golly it was fun!...the waves were strong and long...the perfect mix...and the amount of energy that you use up is unimaginative...if you haven't done so on the Florida coast, you are missing great stuff...so we took some boards laying by the pool...hope the kids didn't miss 'em too much... Caught the early morn flight back today...and I am all screwed up on the time ...been up since 4, Eastern Time...which is 1 here...so...I am so tired...right now!...it's like 5:53 now...but it's not... Got back to read about the horrendous efforts of the Padres ...5 straight losses...last night's fiasco was highlighted by going against a bloke with a 9.50 era...and we got but one run...of course, we had the tandem of Headley, Kotsay, and Hundley going...combined 0 fer 11...tonight at Wash...see if Buditch can find an excuse for ...

We got some good weather in Florida ...finally...and we had a nice time at the pool...and a long jaunt on the beach...when it is good, it's really good...as we passed a gal who was sitting on the deck, and she said "been coming here forever, and this was the worst, EVER!" ...amen, sister... I can't tell you how much time is given to the Zimmerman Trial ...every station carries it live...pre-empts everything else...really...and so we watch it...and if the prosecution is finishing up today...then I don't get the case they brought forward...reasonable doubt?  big time...but, you have a small jury, so, I guess, you never know...and the defense hasn't even started... I have read two books in 3 days...and I haven't done but one in the last half year...my 2nd was a Grisham, "The Confession" ...crazy good, fast read, and I'm sure a movie in the making...I always try to guess where he is going...he drops hints...gives me impetus to start writing...

And yup, we woke up to more RAIN! ...geez, give us a break...well, we got a morning of sun yesterday...not so much thus far today... It's like being on the north west coast ...wait, that's a name for whom?....eegads...one thing I failed to mention in our flight out here...Marsh lost a filling...when we weren't served much food...she resorted to munching on some of my trail mix...so...she went to get a temporary fix at a random dentist here in CB...2 hours later...she gets the hole patched with more than she wanted...by an elder DDS...we were going to wait to get 'er done by Dr. Cris...oh well, we had the time... One thing we do have...time...and I am reading the book on Paul Anka..."My Way" ...did you know he dated Annette Funicello? ...the it girl in our time...and he had an obsession with the "Rat Pack" ...as he was there with them blokes...and if you believe him, he was right there, too...anyway, interesting read...especially in his beginni...

The local ball team, the Brevard County Manatees , scored 6 runs in two innings....and then the storms hit...cancelled the game...until today... fuggit about it ...another bad day...they are a Brewer farm club...oh well... Speaking of local...we were watching the sports report on one of the Orlando TV stations...and they were calling the Miami Marlins as the worst team in all of baseball ...saying what a joke they were ...really....and in the next sentence said they hit a grand salammy and beat San Diego...and the gal reporter, responded with... "well then, what does that make the Padres?"....duh..."they are the Padres, right guys?" ...absolutely no respect... And the storms keep right on a coming...one after the other...really...we can't even lay out in...well...in the sun...wherever that is...cuz it's not here...supposedly we will get some tomorrow...I am not kidding we went to see a flick yesterday ... Greetings Horsers ...from way over here in Florida! ...well, it wasn't without a gaggle of odd things that happened... We had never taken the red eye before...left at 10:45 at night...thankfully, a non-stopper...so... The cabbie that picked us up... his first day on the job ...and...he couldn't get the Prius started...a sign of things to come... There were a few people at the Alaska terminal ...well...we were in the quick line...seeings I used miles and got us 1st Class Tix...but alas, our line didn't move...and 30 minutes later...we got to the agent...it was her first day on the job , too...another rookie...we made sure our bags were sent to Orlando... The flight was delayed...25 minutes...OK...and when we actually boarded...we had to wait a bit more...the crew wasn't there yet...so the departing ones got us all set until the late peops arrived...
