I must be in a bad mood...but I have some rants to get off my chest... Just how many times can a team go to a pitcher that is struggling...STRUGGLING... Luke Gregerson has destroyed the Pads 4 times in a row...this time giving up a grand salamy...c'mon Buddy, rest the poor feller...he's in a slump...leave him on the bench... OMG Mel Gibson ...I learned many moons ago just because you are an actor that doesn't make you a good person...and this sap is not...he has a long record of crap and I pity all the poor kids he has to help raise...he is a very fertile man... BP ...and pretty much all the over-earning oil companies...the latest fiasco in the gulf continues to remind us that it's all about the money...and not about the people...and the environment... LeBron ...this is a twist...I am not blaming him for doing what he did and moving to Miami...I am bewildered about how much money any of these players can make in this economy...is this the world turned upside down?...

Did you get your wish?  Was it that the King was going to join a Wade-Bosh group to make them the new Big 3?   in Miami? The whole scenario that ESPN bought into was a garbage thing ...so much filler and crap...the blend of those 3 fine hoopsters will be the highlight of the preseason and all...not sure about their young coach (former PDX Jesuit star) Erik Spoelstra handling the pressure... I can't imagine just how more MLB people are not being gaga over Matt Latos ...he threw another gem last night in DC and held the Nats scoreless thru 7...and even hit a dinger! ... Headley had a great night and the Pads salvaged one of three there... Bell did  get the nod for the All Stars, and joins Gonzalez ... And the Blazers continue their look for a GM ... what?

So I was thinking about old, fun, movies, that make feel happy and make me smile...and there is some type of reunion ('tis the season) of the best musical show of the era... Grease ...John Travolta ( he who couldn't miss) and Olivia Newton John starred and it was a pleasure from the get go...OK, they don't all have to be fun stuff, but the epoch films were so , that they transposed you back then... Another that I absolutely love... American Graffiti ...with the all star cast on a typical "gut" night...so cool and the music was legendary...Ron Howard,Cindy Williams, Richard Dreyfuss...the innocent off to college feeling...the chase...all wonderful stuff... A Bronx Tale ...DeNiro's first...the Doo-Wop in this flick is awesome... A Hard Day's Night ...the Beatles...as millions screamed...at the screen! Woodstock ...just a day in the life of...every Vietnam protester on the east coast... Apocalypse Now ...just some military boys doing their duty in Vietna...

So all of you NBA fans are wondering if the scenery is going to change much... King James is going to make a grand announcement to where he is going to sit on his throne ... Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh are hooking up in Miami... Amare goes to the Knicks...the Mavs and Hawks stand pat ...soooo, where does the King go?  I think it's the Knicks or staying at Cleve ...and you poor PDX fans, the Blazers still have no GM and are what they are...a mediocre team that has no PG ...too many negative thoughts about their management and ownership... As the MLB All-Star game approaches the list of players that can't perform adds up...for the Padres , that may be the ticket to get to the pitchers there...the fan vote is a bust and Heath Bell will not get it...too many easterners who actually give a hoot about it...I am hoping Matt Latos gets the nod as Gallardo went on the DL for the Brew Crew ...one guy there for sure, is the skipper Buddy Black ... You probably have no comp...

Did you watch your Bachelorette saga last night...1st of all, Ali has some real lulus to pick from (have I said that before?)...and due to the lack of chemistry and boredom, the show picked itself up with the triumphant return of the odd, former couple of Jake and Vienna ...as they called each other out as incompatible...it made for high drama, well, sort of...neither one is a prize, so you pick your poison ...would Jake and Ali made a better couple?  Talk about mindless entertainment... The debate goes on about the baseball all star selection process ...you know, the money power teams never ever have a gripe about this...'cuz they always have a bunch of their non-deserving players picked... money talks... The great northwest is in a heat wave!  Poor cold SD is in the upper 60's...don't get burned! Waxed the Solara , and boy does it shine...

Just a quickie...but my disgust with the voting for the Major League's method of selecting the all stars is a joke...the starters are not voted on by merit, rather than by a popular vote by fans...many of whom are rounded up and are given items for casting votes...to vote for their teams...say, if you vote 25 times you get a free tee shirt...OK, I am incensed due to the lack of players that get the nod from the Padres...the team with the best record in the NL...with the top pitching staff in the league...surely, the best bullpen....only Adrian Gonzalez, and zero, none, zilch, nada, yup, no pitchers from the Pads...I am disgusted...
