Finally went to Del Mar yesterday...hey kids, this is horse racing, very good horse racing...and we went by the Coaster in lieu of driving and it was coooool...I did my normal...got a racing form...this time online...studied and had what I wanted to bet for the pick 3 and pick 5...pick the winners of the first 3 and 5 races of the day...what a trip as I hit the pick 3 and started to sweat out the pick 5...and yup, hit it...first time I had ever done so...only paid $232...but I had five in the race covered and the tops was $858, which came in 2nd...I'll go back next Thursday or Friday... Weird day in Pitt ...recently departed Ludwick got 4 hits for them...but we hit 4 dingers and scored 15...fifteen...10 +5...wooah...remember that the Pirates are in a huge dive...losing 10 of 11...cheers for the Pads as they have won in Pitt 7 straight times... Well, my oh my...the golf world gets it's Tiger back...kind of totally changed up... new look, new swing, new achilles, new manager, new caddie ...new results?  The Golf Channel did a panel thinger on him...and they boyz pretty much agreed he'd finish in the top 10 at Firestone this weekend...really?  My take, unless he has garnered 20 more yards of length and accuracy, he's only going to make the cut and be one of them other fellars... HOWEVER ...we'd all like to see him get back to his dominant ways on the course...just think he has been caught by a bunch of others... You Duck fans...if there is a more innovative coach out there more than Chip Kelly , I'd like to see him...this is what makes the Oregon team so fun to watch...and they begin at LSU ...speed against speed...absolutely a can't miss game... So the Pirates of Pittsburgh trade for some veterans for the close of the season, now that the youngins have got them where they are...sounds very similar to what the play station GM Hoyer , did to the Padres last year...how'd that work out mister?  I'll tell you, major folder...so the Pirates pick up Derrick Lee (good) and Ryan Ludwick (bad)...just watch the standings kids... On a real feel good note... the DBacks are making a run at the Giants ...now only one game back...there are a lot of doubters out there...yet, Zona beat SF last night and look for number dos tonight....hey, they hit a lot of dingers... VERY interesting... The debt ceiling vote is going on as I write...just wonder what would possess a politician to vote nay...unless, well, you know the answer... It's the last day of the trading season in MLB ...and none more awkward than Ubaldo Jimenez ...that same guy we saw when we were eating at Aqua Al2 the other night...as he was warming up to pitch against the Friars last night, there was a hot rumor that he was to be traded to Cleveland ....and the deal was imminent...he starts the game and is in a funk...walks 4 guys and gives up 4 runs in the 1st inning...gets pulled...starts hugging his now, former Colorado teammates, and departs...yup, to Cleveland ...of course, the deficit he left, was to be overcome by the Rockies against the defenseless Padres ... GG, this is an awful team ...and irony of sorts...the big hit he gave up was to Ryan Ludwig (actually Ludwick) , who also is rumored to be going to Cleveland ...his probable new teammate...we can hope... And the Heath Bell debacle...geez, it's been out there that he was going to the Rangers , Phillies , Red Sox , Cards , and now the Yankees ...article in the Trib seems t...
