The Reverberations

Well, wasn't that something...the Old Man vs the Con Man...which may just disgust some of you...as the results of the Debate #1 are in...you know, I have been saying this for some time...I wish we had younger candidates...they are out there...but, both parties are stuck in neutral...the results, Horse...trump appeared much more vibrant...Biden was seemingly, an elder...at times, kind of sad...BUT, trump continued his lying streak...too bad, as he had the perfect opportunity to be above all that...and look presidential...he did not...so where are we?...

Rumors are out there...that the Democrats are seeking a newbie to get in the mix...Gavin of Cali, and the gal from Michigan...downplaying VP Kamala as a replacement...I dunno...listening to Prez B today, at his rally...he seemed back to normal...weird...I am just not sure he can last 4 more years...Father Time has hit...I feel the same about trump...he is a walking heart attack...thus, my concern about the aged candidates we have...that's not policies, just the health of some very old politicians...

Missing the debate, due to the Boss and I at the Little Big Town concert...they are simply marvelous!...so many hits and they have a blast...thus, we do, too....will say the seats we had were divine...at a table and no blocked view...the venue...the San Diego Country Fair...is humongous...and yes, we dipped from our diet...shame shame shame...then, the worst part...the exit...the most unorganized traffic chaos...literally took us a half hour to get to the freeway...and just like Orygun, no horse races...boo...

The mighty Friars went on a monstrous hitting event in Boston...scoring 9 runs in the 5th inning...9!...2 homers...and it is amazing the boys are at 4 wins in a row...keep chugging along...what is so surprising...is that 3 starters are injured...next man up...

Haven't talked much about the glamorous people....you know, the in crowd in LaLa Land...ah, well, there is little to talk about...JLo and Ben, are at odds...duh...the KFam keeps posting pix...and, for the sports nuts, the Lakers drafted LeBron's kid with the 55th pick in the NBA draft...Bronny...out of 58 picks...he's not worthy, but that's their problem...guess that's the hidden meaning of today's blog...

Today is 'National Camera Day'...I still have one...it's a beaut...Nikon...but, it is so much easier to use the one in the iPhone...right?...and less cumbersome...and takes great pix...

Wrapping this up...I now know how many of your Republicans feel...you don't want to switch parties...will vote for your candidate, whoever it is (whomever?)...and I have the same feeling for the Democratic Party...will vote for the candidate, just because...we can do better...right?...right...

The Debate

As we witness the two presidential candidates from the two parties we have in the USA...DEBATE...it's what the politicians dream of...to be the lead characters in the Nation...on a debate stage...they train for this, their whole lives....and in this case, as elders...to tell the truth, as they see it...it is up to you, to judge...it shall be carried on the teevee everywhere...no in house audience...Biden vs trump...in this blog today, I shall not influence you one way or the other...the Horse will leave it to your very own discretion, to come away with a feeling of who would better suit as the president for the next 4 years...

The NBA Draft...apparently, the GM's felt like I did...3 of the first 6 players chosen...are from FRANCE!...the new hotbed of hoopsters...wait on the gals, they have some fine upcoming ladies, too...amazing...outside of the draft, now...expect some major trades...in my might Carnac crystal ball, I think Golden St, LA Lakers, LA Clippers, and ?, all shaking and baking...

BTW, I like the name of the Houston draftee, Reed Sheppard...but at number 3?...he is yet another player from Coach Cal, which is a large number in the league...as I have stated often...he has had so many NBA kids, and never wins...but, man he can recruit...

The Friars swept the Brew Crew...and now head east to take on the Bosox...and then Texas...iff, we can survive, just may cut into the bloody Bums lead...tall order, as Jr is said to be out a month...

Car mechanic talk...took the Beetle into a dude who knows what's what...to change a front light bulb on these cars...well, I looked at YouTube...nope, can't do it...this guy can...and did not charge labor....and talked about the non-fire up on the Lexus...he knew exactly what it is doing...a hot start...referred me to a car shop that deals with only Toyotas and Lexus rigs...and as, he said, they are much cheaper than a dealer's mechanics...so, today, I call the dude...

This is our date at the San Diego County Fair...and to see Little Big Town in concert...the thing I miss about fairs, the ponies...anyhoo, will see how much we can eat, to stay on our diet...they do feature a deep fat fried Ding Dong...at Chicken Charlies...not sure of the odds of us NOT eating a pronto pup...

THE soccer team I do watch...is the ladies USA Team in the Olympics...and to be chosen for it, is a mystery...this year, one of our best...was left off...Alex Morgan...wonder why?....so many people are asking this, along with the Horse...

A Bit Too Far

One of the problems, of adjusting one's diet...is the alteration that we make to some tried and tru favorites...one is the In'N'Out cheeseburger...it's been 2 months since we have had one...well, in fact any burger...yesterday, was going to be the breakage of that record...BUT, we were to get the 'Protein Cheeseburger'....the outer walls, were not the buns, but lettuce...you know, like what you get at many Chinese restaurants...'lettuce wraps'...it's not the same, kids...in fact, it is a disaster...messy, and just doesn't taste even remotely close to the bun wrapped...the Horse recommendation?...steer clear, and gobble up the extra carbs...

Now that I have you in a tizzy...there has been a nationwide recall on some of your favorite ice creams...listeria...man, I hate that...that makes one hit the potty too often...and really, can kill you...soooo...find the article, and see if you have any of the ice cream in your freezer...and dump 'em...listeria happens when whatever is not cooked enough...I joke it is ptomaine, when Boss heats up canned soup...not long enough for the Horse...

Which makes me take a 2nd look at all the food out at the Del Mar Fair, that we are going to, tomorrow...

The Todd Rundgren concert...my review...unbelievably odd...not even sure if I have ever seen the likes of it...decent band...the acoustics  had it hard to hear his voice thru the wall of sound...in that venue...the last time we were there, had no problem hearing Sara Evans...weird...he would kind of walk like prance, on stage, L to R...with no real input from the fans...?...guess he thought it would be cool...we did not know ONE song...were waiting for 'I Saw The Light', or 'Hello, It's Me'...nope...it was too much, and we hit the road, Jack...the bar for eats and drink, and the venue, was very good...the product was not...

Soooo...are you bracing for the 1st Prez debate?...another odd thing...the 2nd is not until September...so, one has to be good...yes, we are to tape the bloody thing...as we are going to be at the Fair...by ALL predictions, this will be the most watched debate...EVER...

Shocking...as the oft injured Friars...have 3 of their starters, on the IL...and are still producing...beating the Nat's, 9-7...Profar, who right now is on the All Star list, hit a grand slam...reminder, he hit the nite before walk off double...has been a huge mainstay in the lineup...

Today is the NBA draft...watch again, as I told you...for some key names from FRANCE...the new outlet for guys and gals hoops...really...for you forever Blazer fans...you have 2 picks in the 1st round...hope your GM does his job well...

Finishing for today...not sure if this is jealousy or not...but, seated in front of us...was all this hair...and yup, they are all guys...

The Heat

The heat, my gawd, the heat...was the Horse's cry out at Singing Hills...90+, and no wind to speak of...water water water...can't imagine the 115* at the Morrises in Indio...what is it like where you live?...I even had a floppy hat on...still, near unbearable...thing is, I used to love it...has to be that I have entered into the elder age...of life...ewww, that sounded awful...

I am officially a fair weather fan...guess this whole Blog today is about the temps...as the Horse patiently versed through the 9 loooong innings of the Friar game vs the Natty's of Washington...like DC, Washington...the state has no MLB team...oops, they do have one...the Mariners...my bad...anyhoo, Donald Duck for most of it...and then, in the top of the 10th in OT, the visitor scored 3 and I went to bed...ah, later on, I read that...the Padres came back and won it, in the bottom of the inning...yup, the Horse gave up...missed all the excitement...Profar the hero...

NBC is carrying the Olympic Trials, out of Eugene, Orygun...my stormy side (sorry, Bozo), is that the production has too many things, other than the competition...gets boring...BUT, the 100 meter dash for the guys...the winner, and head hyper, was the Lyles guy....what is with all the self promotion?...makes it hard to root for the speedster...

Hockey...Florida won in the 7th game...ah, I did not watch one minute of it...not a teevee van...ice hockey in Florida?...is there ice in that state, ever?...

Speaking of trump...the debate with him and Prez B...is lurking...2 days to go...even the forevers will watch CNN this time...if they can figure out how to work the remote...off of FOX...

Did you see the opening act of the LaLa Lakers intro to their new HC, JJ Redick...?...is it just me, or was this almost...like a redo for SNL?...like a joke?...my mighty Carnac crystal ball, says this is a big mistake...big mistake...hurricane size...

The dynamic duo, Boss and I, are heading out to El Cajon, for din din, and the concert...Todd Rundgren...do you know who this dude is?...gonna pay for an Uber ride...just in case, JT...the lad is my age...officially an elder...yet, younger than both presidential candidates...

More on the Boss...with the new menu we have been going to...she has taken pride in making the suppers appealing...plan plan plan...not an easy task...guess I will keep her longer...well, she will keep me longer...

The life of a pro golfer...ebbs and flows...Jordan Spieth was on top of the PGA World just a few years back...now he can't make a putt...that's what goes...the putting...and then you become an announcer...or a caddie, as Scottie Scheffler's caddie has made $2.63 million bucks this season...and Spieth has made $2.5 million...as a player...hmmm...still not bad scratch...but...

The Idol

The truth...all we want is the truth...'you know Jerry, it is not a lie, if you really believe it is true'...used to be, that one had to tell the truth in a court of law...to the judge who was the patron saint...well now, I am not so certain that the people who make life decisions, are on the up and up...never before, have I doubted the validity of a judge...now, I do...am I different than any of you out in the world?...are my thoughts the same as yours when it comes to this topic?...how did this happen?...sinister ways have imploded the system that we hold so deeply...the answer, is that politics have invaded our truths...to the point, of making the entire scene a macabre...of what we used to call...justice...

Witness the upcoming presidential debate...how many lies and partial truths, will come out of the mouth of trump?...as he will gush over things that will rally his forevers...that is, if they watch...yes, I am taping the debate...will he show?...which is still a burning query...

My blog title today, just happens to be about my IDOL...another takeaway from the great show, SEINFELD...which never diminishes in comedic relief...even tho I have seen all the episodes over and over...and over...but, I have a real fondness for the character, Puddy...as I too, can stare straight up at the ceiling...and think about nothing...cleansing my brain, I say...as the Boss will ask 'are you really not thinking anything?...that's right...nothing...it's my little get away...he actually is David Puddy in it...his real name, er, stage name is Patrick Warburton...born in 1964...really and this is where we part symmetry...he is a conservative...

Woah, what is going on over at Petco?...the fab Friars have won 3 straight over the division leading Brew Crew...have we awakened?...tell you what, our 21 yr old CF, Jackson Merrill, is the real deal...has hit 7 home runs in the last 10 games...the Pads go for the sweep today...

Another round of the W today...with CC and Angel going at it...as per usual, it shall be a highly watched event...the league keeps growing in interest...this one is in Chi-town...

The Celtics just won the NBA Crown...and the first Q out of one of the pundits mouths...'what are the chances next year?'....please, foos, let them enjoy this one...right now...tomorrow is another day...

It is Sunday, and you know it...Monster Sudoku Day...going for my 46th win...hmmm, it is really called 'Sudoku Monster'...whatever...
