The Reviews

Image
Oh my, the trick of it all...doing a live "Sound of Music" ...basically a form of the stage version ... NOT a reproduction of the Julie Andrew's Movie ...and many critics had a problem with that...obviously never seen a play of it...so... Crazy Horse's review?. ..which, in fact, is the only one that counts, right?... Carrie Underwood was sensational ...her voice was spot on...and the show it self kept my interest throughout...here's the deal... I wish they would have had an audience ...to react...to the singing and the dialog... to those who didn't like it, you had the option to change channels...I hope you did... you didn't pay a nickel for your seat ...ha ha...me?...was amazed at the abilities of that girl... Nelson Mandela ...the passing... fantastic journey ...even though he was incarcerated for way too many years of it...and his legacy will include the breakdown of racial barriers...which white people have always had an issue...he has helped it j...

The Hills Are Alive

With the SOUND OF MUSIC! ...the remake.... LIVE ...starring Carrie Underwood ...tonight on NBC ...this is a can't miss TV special...without a doubt my favorite musical...saw it in a high school production and was hooked... THEN ...saw the Julie Andrews version...really...will tape it on my DVR and pop  some popcorn...doesn't get any better than this...unless... You are a Blazer fan ...as PDX whipped another big time team, in the Thunder (Supersonics)...that's back to back huge wins against quality teams...believe CH, they have all the parts...defensive stoppers, 3 point shooters, penetrators, and a closer ...now... LA has changed so much that he is THE MAN! ...didn't think I would ever say that... RIP CITY is back.... Survivor ...great twist...and the show always keeps me guessing...are you still watching it?...it's still great TV... villains, good guys, and floaters ...who dominate the vote...ha ha...smart stuff...you can't come on too strong, too soo...

TROUBLE

Image
Monster word, huh...you are in TROUBLE , mister...the TROUBLE with that is...double TROUBLE ...you get my drift...this time it applies to the Brooklyn Nets ...formerly known as, the New Jersey Nets ...moved the franchise...and got themselves a gunslinging owner...well, he throws his $ around...from Russia...really!...anyway... they hired a rookie coach ...who had never done that job anywhere.... ANYWHERE! ...believe me, it is an acquired trait...one thing is to play, it is a totally different thing pulling the strings... Jason Kidd ...and he is floundering...yes, he has had a bunch of injuries...and they went out and got some veterans to make them a solid contender ... RIGHT NOW ...but these blokes are old and brittle ...and the team is losing ...like lots...and now even worse stuff... he fired, er reassigned, his right hand man, Lawrence Franks ...difference of opinions...Franks had been an NBA Head Coach, twice...read between the lines, kids...yup, TROUBLE in Brooklyn ... You ...

The Real Deal

The Blazers versus the Pacers ... the two top teams in the NBA ...really?..check it out, my friends...it's true...and it was in the Rose Garden...wait...it is no longer called that...what is it now?...starts with an M...whomever pays the best bucks get it's name on it...I digress... From the gitgo, it was a terrific game ...both teams playing well...extraordinary...and it was easy to understand why they have but one loss...with 5 solid starters...with the best big in the biz, in Hibbert ...and the best shooter in the entire league in Paul George ...of course, they are not talked about much...from Indiana...you know... NOT NY OR LA... And PDX , counters with the best PF in LaMarcus Aldridge ...and in the discussion for the top 5 PG's in Lillard ...with the other parts fitting well... Game close at half...and the 2nd half it was legendary ...great plays and clutch shots, by the blokes named above... the Blazers persevered and it was the best game I've seen in...

72*

I'm not lying...it was a great day... 72* ...and we took a bike ride around the bay...got asked to go sailing, but Marsh had property to show...so the water trip was out...finished the deck lights...and we are officially festive... Speaking of officially... OUT ... the Bolts ...lost at home to the Bengals...boo...the game was blacked out here...as it was 5,000 tix less than a sell out...just as well, as we could get out and do stuff, in lieu of sitting in the lazy boy and being frustrated...no news anywhere on the game as it was going on...we have a horrible O coordinator...it's true... Downton Abbey ...starts back up next month...on PBS...lurve the series...and can buy the entire season 4 while it is being shown...do that...and watch at your speed... Do Re Mi ...get the soundtrack tomorrow...you will be thanking me... SDSU hoops beat Marquette and won the Wooden Classic...very athletic... PDX had a strange game vs the Lake Show...won it...but had huge leads twice...

Bye Bye BSBCS

Image
You want your rivalry games , do you?...and these were beauts...a full weekend of them...and the topper?...the unimaginable finish to the Tide/Auburn one... Game tied...one second on the clock, via a replay...and the Tide attempts a 56 yd FG...after missing all 3 of their tries in the game...bring out a different bloke to give it a go...'Bama said it was their long distance one...he kicks it, a bit short, and the Auburn lad catches it, and runs it out of the end zone...all the way to the OTHER END ZONE! ...108 yds...and Auburn won ... knocked the Tide off the number 1 perch in the BSBCS... and maybe, just maybe, put Auburn in the title game...cuz... Ohio St is vulnerable ...even though they beat Michigan... they are in a sorry ass league ...and the Wolverines had their chance to throw their game into OT...instead...they scored a TD with 30 seconds to go...and if they kicked an Xpoint, it would have gone to that OT...wait, the home team coach, you know the guy that bolte...
