No Mo TomKat

And they thought it would last forever...the marriage of Tommy Cruise and Kate Holmes...NOBODY is talking about the Scientology part of it...my sources say it's at the root of it...ha ha, TMZ...where else would I read crap about it?

The heat wave back east is now affecting the PGA thinger in Washington, or close to it...no fans allowed today...what?...Tiger must love that...or will he?...he does thrive on the wave of emotion, yet, he won't acknowledge any of the fans...odd, huh...

Hot rumor is that the Pads are close to moving 3B Headley to the Dodgers...and they, finally, sent C Hundley to the minors...after struggling to a .166 batting average...it's been a month late in my book...and bringing up a much heralded young prospect catcher...might be permanent...it's a brutal game...

Lamar K is moving back to LA, albeit to the Clippers...does he still have it?...hope so, but their problems are on the D end of it all...not sure he helps in that aspect...staying in LA, Gasol and the center are being shopped, but not at a bargain basement price...the Lakers are not dumb or frugal...

The GOP must be huddling on the Obama Care fallout...seeings that Mitt already tried that in his "state" a bit back...where do they attack?...there is no way the Demos will let that clip fade away, showing Mitt saying just what the Prez is recommending...by the way, is there a more despicable guy than Boehner?...oops, too much commentary...

Got my packet on Medicaire and the possible supplements....OMG...you have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out...how much money did it take for the authors to write it up?...confuse the public and it is then successful....

OK, my leg is still not up to par....and I am on my 2nd week of no golf...this is NOT GOOD!

Fallout

And the GOP has hit the road running...if they get their guy in, he'll go above the Supreme Court and squash the "Obama Care"...there you go, you have your debate topic...didn't Mitt try this health reform when he was the guv?...oh well, here it goes...

The Blazers drafted for their PG concerns...I am all for it...but the bloke from Weber St?...oh well, let's see what he's got...and another center...OK, let's now get a coach and get it on...

Apparently nobody wanted the Laker's Gosol...man, I'd a taken him in a blink of an eye...he can play...the others are just maybe's....I'm just saying...

When the O'Malley's owned the Dodgers they were the class of the league...they sold it to a conglomerate, and LA hasn't been the same since...a lot of anticipation that they are going back to their roots and start up the Pads with their old enthusiasm...hope hope...

2 weeks til Del Mar opens...I'll go the opening week, but not opening day....geez, will be in Vegas...yup, back to the Mirage...short hop and loads of fun...

Last working day for my son at his dental practice, where he has been for about 5 years...and moves on to Montecito next week...so proud of him...still, it is hard to leave the people he hired...

Beautiful out today and I'm still a limping...please body, get back to good, please!

Obama Care

Talk about a misnomer...the Supreme Court...you don't know where I'm going with this...voted to keep the infamous "Obama Care"...it leaves me, speechless...well, not really...I was surprised...there are so many unanswered questions in this bill...but, I guess they felt that every single one of us Americans have the right to have health insurance...and it makes the big biz companies squirm...and yet, each state has the right to alter it?....so confusing...this is chapter 1....

You who think that the Housewives of wherever is a big waste...you are probably right...but we are glued to the tube...and there isn't much on...and the spectacle of the goof balls is too much to pass on...I keep thinking, do they actually watch themselves and like what they see?...wow...

If you think that the BCS solved their money grabbing title fiasco...you are wrong...as they added two teams to the mix...and why not add six?...I still find it unbelievable that the "elite college presidents" have such a tough time dealing with such a morally tough issue as high dollar collegiate football...

The Padres are so close to being owned by somebody who wants them...really exciting times for all of us in SD...as positive money will come in and this ship will be saved...really, it can happen quickly...buy a few outstanding blokes, and voila...contender!...

Do you watch the Today Show?...apparently, the male anchor didn't like the female anchor....and he said, either she or me...speculation...and Ann Curry got the axe...I don't know...there are so many anchors throughout this TV land...she seemed fine to me...I watch GMA, anyway...

The NBA draft...the Blazers have two of the first 11 picks...should get some decent talent...please new GM, you need a PG!...never forget the pick of Arvidas Zabonis way back when...it was great fodder for us at hoop camp...turned out to be a good one...now, about the Durant one...eegads...

Time for a bike ride!

BSBCS

You know my feelings about the collegiate football championship...D-1 type...the only system in place that does not have a true playoff...well now...the college prezzes (the elite 12) have accepted a 4 team playoff!...starts in '14...good for 12 years...let's see, that would make me 78...don't like the sound of that...WELL...it's a bit of a good thing...really, it should be 8...and the provision that says that the champ game host, is dependent on the high bidder...well, Dallas's Jones, has it all but wrapped up...forever...OK, it's a step in the right direction...but, why will it takes two seasons to put it in place?...bloody bowl games, I reckon...

Here's my take on the Supreme Court and the Arizona immigration law...the one part that seemed unconstitutional to me, was the one part they upheld...the "looks like an illegal" one...if this is true, why then couldn't the authorities adopt that for the "you know whos" at the airport?...I'm just saying...

The NBA draft be tomorrow...and the teams are jockeying about...er, trading blokes to get draft spots...high ones...so what are the Blazers doing?...I'm still wondering about the big bucks Lakers...have seen little movement there....it seems that the Houston Rockets appear to be the big movers...trying to land the Magic's Howard...

The Pads threw their 13th different starter yesterday, 13!...and he was a 35 year old recent retiree...really...you can guess the outcome...old time Viking, Jed Lowrie, homered off the bloke...good for him...and...remember me talking about the up and coming young star, Anthony Rizzo?...well, we traded him to the Cubbies and well...he is back...he ripped up AAA, and started with a bang in the bigs...geez, move our fences in and he's be doing the same here...by the way, Lefty's group is said to be owning the club as soon as this weekend...

Thank God, we don't have anything like the Housewives of Orange County...if there is a bigger mess than that group, I'd like to see it...no, wait, would not like to see it...are you watching?...

Hump day...

Late breaking news...the Beavers of Oregon State...yup them, have scheduled a game at Michigan...what?...well, it's not until '15...maybe, they'll have new guiding by then...

Summer of '12

Not the summer of George...get this story...and it's all true...
The Yankees and Mets are the rivalry of New York...you are one of the two...there is this little known reliever of the Mets, Frank Francisco...who in his own way of firing up his fans, called the Yankees "chickens"...unbeknownst to him, a fellow player pranked him...and he thought that the Yanks sent over a chicken to him...and they named it "Little Jerry Seinfeld"...by the way, he got a save...and the chicken got it's reprieve, and was sent to the Farm Sanctuary...temporary at best, I'm sure...

The dismantling of the Bosox has begun...as I alluded to yesterday, Kevin Youklis, was to be traded...in the middle of the game!...got his walking papers and was dealt to the White Sox...geez, Crazy Horse was right on...as he will fill the void at 3b...and out goes ODog...

Crazy finish to the Travelers in Connecticut...as SD native, Chas Hoffman, blew the lead and tourney with a water ball on the 17th...not easy to win out there...and an Aussie, Marc Leishman, won for the 1st time...

The Olympic trials are in Oregon....in Eugene...track capitol of the world...and some of the blokes that are moving on...have steroids past...I'm out there on this...they all have some inordinately horrible excuses of why and how...

The Padres won another series...well, it was the M's...and move on to Houston and...get this...are underdogs for the last 5 weeks...

So the banks in Greece affect the banks in Spain, which borrow from Germany, which affect the Brits, who need our support...and the stocks take a slight dip....and we ask, what?...

Time for a much needed bike ride...

On The Other Side

As I have read back a bit, I have sensed a little negative writing on my part...what?...calling out the inadequacies of various sporting teams that I follow....dang it all...mostly the Padres...anyway...I have decided to go to the other side...well, for just a few sentences...

In a few months we are going on our annual jaunt over to the greatest island ever, Maui...I'm the type of guy that repeats the good stuff...and this is that...we stay at the Kaanapali Shores...just north or east of the Embassy Suites...and it is awesome...two pools and the timing is near perfect...school just starts up....you know what I mean...snorkel, play golf, sunbathe, eat, and drink...can hardly wait...and I lurve the excursion to Lahaina...always 82*...

OK, that's it for the good stuff...you know there is this storm brewing over in Boston...the Bosox went and hired this fiery manager, Bobby Valentine...and they started right off...LOSING...not a good thing there...well, anywhere, but especially there...since they have $ to buy players...and coming off a so so season, where the rumors went crazy about their demise, like pitchers drinking beers in the club house, as the game was going on...ha ha...baseball guys doing that?...c'mon...I digress...one of the most beloved players of the last 5 years is or has been replaced, Kevin Youklis...he's been injured and all...and now...the spat is in the newspapers...as the Mgr. has not told him that he is sitting...but he is...so turmoil...and the trade is imminent...high drama...I expect Youklis to go to the White Sox...they have been band aiding their 3B with the Padre reject, Odog...belting it at .160...purrfect fit...

The lack of playing small ball...by the Padres...it's no secret that SD is the worst hitting team in beisbol...in fact, most teams salivate at getting to play 'em...that pitchers who have been blasted by others, come in and pitch gems...so, our brain trust keeps swinging away, maybe thinking that we'll break out of our prolonged slump...well, how's that working Buddy?...too many times we pass on moving players up with the sac bunt...and end up striking out with runners on 1st and 2nd...put pressure on the opponent's D with the runners on 2nd and 3rd...I can give you way too many examples of this...boooooooooooooooooo....

I am officially old...OLD...I just got in the mail, my Medicaire sign up...geez, I can remember when I was 18...now, 64...when I get older, losing my hair, many years from now, will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I'm 64...or, I can just look at my body...get the carry bag and do just that...pull a calf muscle and limp around the GQ...so, this fine Sunday, I will just lie around the condo, and wait for my OLD body to heal, so I can go out and DO IT AGAIN!

The Afterglow

Good morning, all...we are back from the mini vacay....thx again to the Morrises for such great hospitality...the reason for the season?...t...
