I suppose it's time I talk up the other side...of the super bowl...the Saints ...really, look the two top teams the entire season were the Saints and the Colts ...at one time they were both looking at perfect seasons... The coach of NO ?  None other than a former San Diego St. Aztec ...his story began after his playing days concluded in the WFL or something like that... SDS had an opening as a grad assist. and they were looking far and wide...circa '88...lo and behold a call came in from London...yup that London...from Sean Payton saying he'd like an interview...that's where he finished up playing...gave his references and said check him out...he persisted and SDS checked him out...he called again...they said you get here in 5 days and we'll give you the interview...he flew across the pond, drove across the US in a beater, literally pulled up to the interview in a smoking car...in the 5 days... SDS laughed and signed him on the spot...and the rest of his jour...

Hey, I have been pondering this for a couple of years now...how does Mike Dunleavy keep his job at the Clips?...not anymore, he was fired as coach yesterday...he's done more with less every stop he's had in the NBA... sour grapes for his efforts at PDX ?  Maybe... Watched the Blazers survive against the Spurs last night...missing many key free throws it appeared that Portland gave this game away...but alas, SA mysteriously didn't play their star Parker at the end, and PDX won... weird ? Can anyone figure the stock market out? Now Toyota has probs. with its huge money maker, the Prius...oops Finally...finally...finally...the Bolts are severing the ties with LT ...a great running back in his time...but no more....hopefully they draft 5 running backs and get at least one to stick... As we were walking at 9 pm last night with Sammi , I realized why we are here.. .shorts on and a gentle warm breeze ...

As the time gets closer to the Super Bowl , the peops have begun their own hype on who should win, who may win, who will win...let me tell you right now I am rarely correct...so, I think it will be Peyton Manning and his Colts ...so get out and bet the farm on the Saints ...the over under is at 56 ... wow ... I'm not going to lie...the weather here in the great northwest has been mild ...but rainy ...my bones need the warmth of the sun...hard to get motivated to get out and do much...let alone golf as Scott Cross does all the time in this... muck I still can't believe that the PGA can create such a bit of turmoil about the U grooves... And then, Pro Scott McCarron goes out and calls Lefty a cheater... gentleman's sport ... I have not a newspaper since I have been here...will not read the Statesman... The one thing I hear around here is the method of operation ...whether it is personal, business, state, or country...the topic invariablies goes to taxes ...in Orygun the measure 66 & 67 passed...or is that 67& 68...that puts more pressure on peops who make more tham $250 grand a year...and also, businesses...which is the rub...this state needs a sales tax ...there are many people here that settle here, 'cuz the lack of one...and it costs the state a lot of $...'cuz these people have no housing...I'm being kind...however, it should be a balance between the sales tax and a reduced property tax... and I'm not even talking about the $3.8 trillion budget that Prez O has brought up...OMG! The Blazers have won again... The San Diego Open was won by a lad from Orygun... Ben Crane ...who's notoriety was that he was a slow player...no longer...interesting, his thing is now...he never looks at the leader board...in fact, one of his playing partners congratulated him as the winner...And Ben didn't know!  I can see the theory... NFL All-Pro game ...just like the NBA version...no D...41-34, AFC... More later ... and it's now later... Don't get me wrong, but... Beyonce is not a great singer...nor is Taylor Swift ... great singers are the 5 that paid tribute to Michael Jackson (albeit in rediculous 3-D)...but, that is the youth movement of the day...it's OK, just not great... The PGA has created a mess...they have taken fun out of the game...by limiting the type of wedges that the pros can use...they have banned the infamous U grooves in lieu of the V grooves ...this gives the player less chance of spinning the ball and controlling it...a real joy for the spectators...but the PGA says that the ability of that shotmaking is too much an advantage to the long hitters who can spin the ball, even out of the rough...yup...it is a scream to watch the ball jump all over the place... Lefty is probably the best at it...it will be missed... How can the Blazer's Andre Miller score 52 points in a game?  Guarded or unguarded I can't believe it...he's old, slow, can't jump, has the flatest shot in the game ...wow The weather here in the great northwest was great today and yup...I hit the links...
