Kick Off

San Diego St. has the game of it's season tonight against the vagabond TCU Horney Frogs...yup, that team that has left the Mountain West for the Big East for the Big 12...or wherever...and the Aztecs are a 4 pt. dog...really interesting... Oklahoma and Texas...toss up in my book...hoping for the Longhorns... Nobody talks about my sleeper team, Oklahoma St...as they wallop Kansas... Speaking of the other OSU team, they travel to Nebraska...figure the Huskers... Or, the other OSU team, the Beavers hosting the other Stoops guy...a win for the Beavs? LSU all over Florida, even though the scribes are saying it will be close...naw... Stanford in a yawner over the Buffaloes... Arkansas and Auburn in a pick 'em... Beisbol...shocker as the Cards did in the Phillies...and the Brew Crew knocking over the DBacks...the teams that dominated most of the season get their fannies eliminated, NY and Philly...it's apparent you must finish strong... Time to turn on the tube...late...

Whew...the Ducks got it together and wore down the defensive line of the Golden Bears...subsequently got the win by...28 points...and the line was 24...and, my oh my, how the D turned away Cal late in the 4th to preserve the point spread...oops, the win...very curious...but the real deal is...the loss of nationally famous LaMichael James...dislocated his arm on a very gruesome play in the 2nd half...it's part of the game, yet still a big blow to the Ducks and...him... Alright, I did watch the final game of the Tiger/Yankee match up...it was a beaut and yup, I called it...Detroit had a bit more pitching...well, a lot more...and eeked out the W in NY...Cliffy is happy and off they go to meet the Rangers...my feeling is that they are much better than Texas...tonight's games in the NL are interesting as the east coast pundits want Philly and Milwaukee bad...real bad... I spent a goodly portion of yesterday...golf...watching...as Tiger was followed by the Golf Channel...the enti...

Is home field a huge advantage?  I'm talking in the collegiate football world?  According to the line...it's a 24 point game....Ducks over the Bears...geez, that's 3 1/2 scores more...really?  On a Thursday night to boot...well, it depends on if the crowd is boisterous and is filled...yup, it is so at Autzen...hey, you have 3 main teams in Oregon...the Ducks, the Beavs, and the Blazers...and there is a great chance of no NBA hoops this year...so, the peops get out and support their team...and believe me, there are a bunch of us down here that pull for 'em, too...I can't tell you how many times I hear "Go Ducks" when I wear my stuff around the GQ...anyway, it's on the tube tonight and we'll be watching... I am really surprised...your gurl Sarah...she's not running for the office of Prez...couple with that of the Jersey bloke saying no...it's pretty much left to the 3 top vote getters at this time...Mitt Romney, Rick Perry, and Herman Cai...

Mind Games

So my good friend, Snooki, and I were going back into time and trying to come up with old names of burger joints in our youths...and then I asked others from that era...and the results?  Well, the names that were given still didn't ring a bell!   Which brings me to the question, when do we start forgetting?  Snooki, being slightly older than me, obviously has lost a little bit quicker...but outside, of like real problems, like dementia...is there going to be a resurrection?  I ask you, is there hope?  So to try to keep my mind sharp (er) , I play Soduko, everyday...and constantly read the what happened way back when on this day in the sports page...and eat plenty of vegetables...maybe I need to do what Cary Grant did to stay so aware...according to Dyan Cannon... Which brings me to my next Q...when does the body become hopeless?  Sure you can adjust your face with botox and stretches and all...but is the cost of that prohibitive?  Or, is there anyone...

I know it's a bit early for this...but I have to act now for my costume...last year I won the prize for the best one...any thoughts?  I'm thinking it could be a political satire thing... DWTS...I can't imagine a better dance than the Vet gave and yet crusty Len zinged him...so he was only second...he's got something out on him...boo...and on the other end of the spectrum, Chaz Bono...just an awful performance...with something wrong with him and his pardner as they were not smiling a bit...nevertheless, a bunch of very good dances last evening... Have you been watching the group singing on NBC?  Very nice show that is acapella...I don't think there was a great singer in last night's bunch...but very entertaining nonetheless... Beisbol...OK, I did watch the last 3 innings of the Ranger/Devil Rays game...former Pad, Adams, had a rough outing in the 8th, yet Texas hung on...and did you see the Tigers won?  I told you so...they have strong pitching... The N...

There is this frantic group of Bolt fans that think that winning by a little is not enough...hey, the NFL has parity...probably more than in any of the pro sports...albeit outside of hockey...and with these huge human beings getting knocked silly every week...it can be so hard to figure...so when the W comes, accept it and get on with the season...so back to SD...now with a 3-1 record and leading the west...it is what it is...so far, so good...pictured to the right, the good old days...ie Keith Lincoln... My oh my, the Lions beating the Cowboys in Texas...huge upset, right?  And the fact that the Vikings are winless...wow, the crap will hit the fan there...there were a bunch of odd games and I'm telling you....NEVER BET ON THE NFL! Are you following the Amanda Knox trial?  It's a scary thing and it sure appears that the evidence is just not there to convict...but Italy is a whole different situation...geez, doesn't the Mafia rule there?  How can anyone expect real jus...

It's a big day here in the southland....as the Bolts host the Dolphins in a blacked out affair at 1ish...let's be honest here...SD is not as good as the pundits say...and to get a W will be a huge accomplishment...it's an easy schedule, for a good team...this group has to win to stay alive...I suppose that's what all organizations say... So I watched a gaggle of college games yesterday...one thing is for sure, the Alabama Crimson Tide is the real deal...the Gators just got run over...in the desert the Beavs got bounced again...Wisconsin the pride of the heartland as they pulverized Nebraska...Air Force upset Navy, on a taunting call (real)...Michigan (Hoke) lambasted the Gophers, 58-0...no Ducks and no Aztecs... I'm adjusting to the mild weather here...you know, being a Maui guy...have to wear a jacket at night for the Sammi walk...by the way, the food commodities on the island are very expensive...$6 for a loaf of bread...an indicator...booze?   Same as here......
