Chaos

Image
Good morning kids!...after a nice night out at Humphrey's, watching the legend, Brian Wilson , and his band in concert...and yup, Bill Walton was in attendance!...and spending lots of time watching the pixels of the US Open...other things popped up...my take... Utter chaos ...as MLB has found that some blokes have broken the system to the "fan vote" for the starters in the one all-star game that has benefits to the winning side...ah yes...the victors get the home court advantage for the World Series...hmmm...crazy rule, says me...anyway...the Kansas City Royals have every one of their starters as the lead vote getters in the American League side...well, they found  a guy or group that beat the system...and stuffed the ballot box, so to speak...and the league dropped 60 million votes....what?...now what?...you think that doesn't happen in Idol?...or DWTS?...hmmm...simple solution...one fan, one vote...duh... Brian Wilson ...first of all...this guy is a musical g...

The US Open ...day 1...up in Tacoma...geez, I watched a lot of it...the morning guys had it easier...the "greens" were moister...the afternoon?...brutal...and let me be the one that says it...nobody else really will... the course is a disaster... One of the things that the pixels can do, is improve what the reality is...there is no doctoring for the GREENS! ...er, I thought they closed down Battlecreek...I digress... these putting surfaces are the worst that I have seen. ..the Vets said they had seen stuff like this way back when...well, not now... Different types of grass just may be the culprit...whatever the reason, it should not be used for a US Open...I can understand the rest of the course...it still is a joke...the slope of the fairways and all...just a huge Q mark as to why... However, all the players play the same thing...thus, there is no discernible advantage for anyone...perhaps, the long hitters...as the "fairways" are wide...I dunno... The le...

So I turned on the US Open Golf T in Washington ...like the state, you feeble brainers...and it's hosted by Fox ...what?...first time I can remember them doing golf...the expert guy is none other than the Shark, Greg Norman ...how apropo...is that even a word?...anyway...with all the shark bites on the other coast...there is finally one on the west...in another way, thank goodness... The track itself looks to be a beaut...very similar to the ones over the pond...you know, the Atlantic...very odd to see the players have to move the ball around this type of course...it's fun...for the spectators and the viewers... Oh by the way, the Sonos system is in...clarity is spectacular...we still have some tweaks to be done...this afternoon...and we will be set...good stuff... The new regime of the Pads ...so far disastrous...lost 16-2 to Oakland...2 td's...and also lost the CF Myers for 2 months...wrist surgery...the wheels are a falling off, my friends...I'd like to gi...

Champs!

It was a short week ago, and Horse was complaining about the lack of coaching by the Golden St Warriors ... Coach Steve Kerr stepped it up...made some adjustments...and they won the final 3 games...and thus, THE TITLE! ...the best regular season team turned out to be the best playoff team...fitting... Lost in this, was the steady play of the King ...as he was a dominant figure in the Cav's success...and as great as he is, he can't win the games himself...he has to develop a post up game...because 35 feet away from the hoop he is wasting away...and in the end, hurt Cleve... Fun game and a fun win for a deserving bunch of blokes... Just a short wait...and the US Open starts up tomorrow...at a course that many of the pros despise...ah ha...music to the ears of the PGA blokes...and to me...and it will take some guy to be able to bounce approach shots up to the greens...and withstand errant hits...and make miraculous recoveries...and of course, putt lights out...I picked 5 i...

Preller's Game

Image
You HAVE heard of the Pad's GM , right?...the dude who restructured this team in the off season...made quite a name for HIMSELF!... AJ Preller ...I'm not going to give a pix of him...in my mind, that position should be behind the scenes...this is what he's done... Brought in 3 new OF's, a 3B, a utility guy, a C, a starting P, and the best closer in the game ...of course, the new owners, gave him money...which the previous GM blokes did not have...and yet...he kept the same on field manager and his staff... The 65 game results?...a very average 32-33 record ...and some of the acquisitions have not played up to expectations...and the strength of all of the seasons since we've been here...the starting pitching...has been way under par...the hitting is better...the closing staff has been a disappointment... The one guy that has been the on field manager the entire time we have lived in San Diego is Buddy Black ...at times, this blogger has shown frustrations in ...

One of our great joys...boogie boarding in Cocoa Beach...Florida ...for those of you who are not aware  of this...it's riding the ocean waves in on a styrofoam board...much like the real surfer dudes do, except they are standing up...we are lying on our bellies...the name should be belly boarding.. And, one of my keys, is to always be in the middle of a lot of people...not on the edges...and never in the early morning or in the late afternoon...prime time for these critters in these warm waters to feast a bit...well now... Things have changed...the critters, er, the SHARKS, are becoming much more aggressive and are coming closer to shore...in the past few months there have been many attacks noted...yesterday, there were two in North Carolina...and like the 40 year old movie warned us...they are out there...in SHALLOW water... NBA ...did you like the game?...of course you did if you are a GS fan ...the Warriors stayed small...did not even play their 7 ft center, Bogut, at ...

Bam!

I have not been spending a lot of space, er, blog time, talking about the Pads ...mostly a paragraph...right?...not today...the warrant is out...the talk is here today, kids... It was one of the better games of the season...last eve...both pitchers were on...hitting their spots...getting the outside calls...and whizzing thru the lineups...it was 1-1 forever... The Bum's Greinke was magnificent...as he has a dominance over the Pads...and he was at his best...real reasons for offensive futility...Buddy usually gives that for a reason for a loss...this time he had every right... SD had it's own Camelot going...a Kennedy...and he was back to being the guy that we got him here for...crafty and sneaky fast...and mowed down the very expensive lineup that LA trots out... This lasted until the bottom of the 8th...Kennedy left after 7....the spotless Maurer waltzed thru the 8th...and then...BAM!...with 2 outs, Justin Upton at the plate...Greinke still there...Upton hit a bomb.....
