The word 'Raging' has taken on different meanings over the past decade or so ...slang had it's time with it...but right now, it has a more severe meaning in our son's city of Montecito ...where there are RAGING waters everywhere....coming down the mountains of that area...so much so, that the inhabitants were evacuated...including Dr Cris and his clan... There were extreme fires in the area a few years back (5?)...followed by heavy rains...and the RAGING went on then, too...not a good combo, and the rivers of water came rushing down the mountains...all the way to the ocean...well, the rains have returned...the land has not settled yet...and the RAGING waters have returned, too... It is the land of many stars, so to speak...Oprah, Ellen, the Prince and the Princess, Katy, to name just a few ...Ellen posted in one of the web sites, her view of it all by her pad...it can and may be devastating... Over the years, I have talked about the mind set of MO-MENTUM! ...happens everywhere...politics, especially..yet, we usually relate it to sports...which is the one I am going to go with today.. .the Golf T n Maui...at the beautiful Plantation Course at Kapalua...where the player, Colin Morikawa, was breezing along up 7 in the final round, and even at 9 over the distant Jon Rahm... Seemed like this was a foregone conclusion...and then...mistakes happened...to Colin ...missed shots, horrific wedges...and then he couldn't stop... the negative momentum ...it happens, kids...at the same time, Rahm had caught fire...birdies, eagle, birdie, and at the same time, Colin had bogey, bogey...and in the latter part of the round...the 9 strokes had vanished and Rahm was leading...and won...by 2... Golf is a hard, sometimes, cruel game...it's all about you ...in depth, the Morikawa family has roots in Maui...ran a restaurant on Main Street in Lahaina...one of my favorite places on this earth...

Good morning to you all, this fine Sunday, January 8, 2023 ...wherever you are....how is this new year treating ya?...do you have resolutions?...still doing them?...sure glad that the fiasco in DC has come to a close...well, sure, temporarily...it was great pixel watching while it lasted...this football thing has kind of taken over, since...who makes the playoffs is key for today...and way out west, like waaaaaaayyyy out west in Maui, the golf T is being supremely handled by one dude, Colin Morikawa... But, today, I am into purple ...like 'Deep Purple' ...bear with me a tad.. .am going to learn ya a lesson ...this was a pop song from the '63 and '64 era of tunes...a very unique sound that was the collaboration of Nino Tempo and April Stevens ...even a number 1 hit!...alas, some of you heathens are crying foul right now.. .'Deep Purple' is a band ...true, but not the one I am referring to...that one had 'Smoke on the Water' as it's memorable song......
