Varsity vs JV

It was like watching the Varsity play the Jayvees...I'm talking the Celts and the Blazers...the difference begins that there is only one PG in the program...PDX has none, zilch, zero, nada...throw out Camby's 1st game in a new team...he didn't seem too happy being there, by the way...Boston could do pretty much anything they wanted and it was disgusting!  So many faults in the system...did it not seem that BRoy has put on some extra poundage?  Awful game...have I said this before, Andre Miller is a horrible PG...

In the aftermath of the Tiger speech, there are those pundits out there that say his talk was too scripted...OMG, what did you think it would be?  I say he did what he should have...and, more than any politician has ever done...and we pay them!  Hope it works out for him and well, them...

We're hosting a Friends party tonight...and I have to admit...I know pretty much nothing about the show...I've watched it a lot...but it's a mindless (brainless) 30 minutes...anyhoo, I figure I'll come in last...unless, it's a multiple guess thinger...

Celts/Lakers

The NBA regular season can be a bore...I'm not telling anything you don't know...it is one that needs to be cut by a third...but, last night a special one took place, with Boston visiting LA ...definitely had a feel for the playoffs...the Celts held on for the V...but, the Lakers were without Kobe....certainly significant...it is obvious that former Jail Blazer Rasheed is a negative for the Celts...well, got to figure LA is the team to beat...Boston heads on up to face the Blazers tonight...with the fresh face of Marcus Camby ready to add his stuff to PDX...my eyes are there...

So are you following the CPAC?  What happened to the TEA Party?  I can't believe I was ever a republican...what the hell was I thinking?  By the way, Sarah was conspicuously missing at your CPAC gathering...run Sarah run...

In about ten minutes Tiger will be addressing a select few about whatever he wants to tell the world about his private life...and everyone is going to turn in...

The match play tourney in the desert...all the number 1 seeds are gone...there is parity amongst the  PGA for sure...it also seems like Tiger won't be back very soon...

There is this article in the Trib today about disgruntled CB Antonio Cromartie of the Bolts...the writer said about him that " it is inconceivable that Cromartie doesn't want to be traded...."....well, don't use that word with him...as has fathered at least 7 children with 6 different women in 5 different states...and he is but 25....OMG!!!

Spring Training

Love this time of year!   Spring training and it all starts up again...I'm talking MLB and the Padres...a lot of optimism around here...stability as we have all our spots filled for the 1st time in 3 seasons...the watch is on Kyle Blanks as he fills a huge void in our power game...

I can't believe how many people showed up for Mardi Gras...and how quickly the crews cleaned it up...you'd never know it ever happened...

Never fails...I put together a new component system...now, I don't have sound to the TV...one bloody wire not back in the right spot...so I spend another couple of hours figuring out which one...

Trade!

Nope, not this guy...but the Trailblazers got bigger...picking up Marcus Camby from the awful LA (formerly SD) Clippers...PDX gave up oft injured Travis Outlaw and no D Steve Blake...good?  Yes, real good...size was needed in their patchwork scheme of things...Outlaw was and is raw at best...and Blake is a fish out of water...how on earth are those two going to fit in to the Clips?  I don't get their side of it...the Blazers still need a PG...who goes next?

Off we go to the political side of things...just what the hell is horrible Dick Cheney popping off for?  He is to go down as one of the top evil guys ever...yet, he still talks about what he would do...shut up!

Mardi Gras here!!!  It has already started and it so mega festive...it's to be upper 70's and well, going to be a blast...we're hosting a 15 people pre-function party prior to getting down and watching the parade and carousing...

Did you watch your Bachelor?  What a mess that poor sap has gotten himself into...funny, really....

The Next Big Thing

He has arrived...the next big thing in the PGA...as Tiger's drama continues (see today's NY Post), the tour is ripe for a taking...and Dustin Johnson is the one...a long, lean hitter, he proved it again winning at the treacherous Pebble Beach...it's a back to back there...he's got all the tools...he will be the favorite for the majors this year...mark my words...

I watched it, but I'm not sure what I was watching...the NBA All-Star game...the East beat the West...as LeBron and Dwayne led the charge...before 108, 000 in Dallas...it was strange...

Can't get into the Olympics...yet the US is leading after a couple of days...

Do you like your Big Love...such a great show on HBO...the plot twists and turns like no other...creeeeeepy segment last night, which made me wonder how real that stuff is....

As we got to our restaurant last night, our server informed us of what they didn't have...seems that they had 700 people for lunch...may have been easier to tell us what they did have...and we were at 4:15...think they were going to have major problems as the night wore on...oops for them...turned out fabulous as I had the lasagna and my companion had the chicken toscano...and the best  '04 White Oak Syrah we've ever had........topped it off with a chocolate raspberry mousse cake...with some coffee drinks...then caught our water taxi back to the Gaslamp and had a great time...Coronado is beautiful...oh, by the way...temp was 78*....

2 days 'til Mardi Gras here....who dat?

Happy Valentine's Day

OK, I don't know what you are doing for your mate, but...we are going out for breakfast at Soleil K....then, taking in some sun...then riding the ferry over to Coronado for a dinner at Il Fornaio ....and then taking a night cruise around the bay...yup, that's the way it's done...

The Aztecs whupped up on the Rebs yesterday before 9400 peops...the crowd is growing...
OMG...the NBA crap that was yesterday...3 point, slam dunk, skills...give me a break...
Speed skating...it's like roller derby...congrats to Ono for his longevity and getting a silver...you know him, the Dancing With The Stars gold medal winner...with the knockout Julianne Hough...
It was 80* as I was playing golf at Sycuan...it was awesome...nothing like the heat for these old bones...
For romantic blu-ray, there is no better than "The Notebook"...a little partial to Rachel....shhhhh, don't tell Marsh....
