US Open

Image
It's weird to see the very best in the world can do at a golf tourney is level par... the Open in Frisco ....fantastic weather, very little wind, speedy greens....should be a menu for premium scores...naw...it's a survivor only course, this Olympic, built in the 1860's....what?...wasn't that when the Civil War was going on?...and yesterday...part of it was led by a junior in high school, Bo somebody...fact is...it will be one of them gritty guys who are going to get this...Padraig, Furyk, McDowell, or...Woods... Yup, tied at the top is Tiger at one under...hey, it's going to take a bloke with a great penchant to forget the negative...quickly...as they will stumble at times...but have enough length and shot making to recover... Cris and Leila are trekking over there to watch today's action...man, am I jealous... The Pads gave up a 5 spot in the bottom of the 1st...yup...so the game is over after one right?...it ended up like 10-2....why oh why is C Hundley...

Facebook Recruiting

There is this little item that has barely made the sports wire...catch this about college hoops recruiting...that there now is a rule that the colleges can make contact with their recruit, after their sophomore year...really?...sophomore?...and, here's the best of it....they can make unlimited contact through social media...Facebook or Twitter....are you kidding me?...there's always a way out...OMG! The Heat win one at OKC...I told you it was a toss up....really believe it will go seven...and the last shot by Durant to tie the game...did LeBron get away with a foul?...not if you are ABC...ha ha...nothing ever surprises me...where is Violet?... The Open in Frisco...Tiger is in the zone...can he win it?...don't see why not...the bloke leading had 22 putts...what?...I have more than that after nine, usually...Lefty and Bubba, wooah....somethings wrong with Phil...not sure what...and Bubba has been a wreck after winning the Masters...there is a lot of golf left...629 yards ...

Purr-fection

Image
Do you know how hard it is to pitch a purr-fect game in beisbol? ...crazy hard...get all 27 blokes out...you need some luck, some great pitches, and some great defense...and Matt Cain of the SF Giants ...did so last eve versus the Astros of Houston ...get it out of your system before visiting the Pads .... And SD ...what?...two straight wins at Seattle...yet, scoring but one run...all they needed...still, abysmal on base hitting for the Pads ...when do they send Hundley down to find his swing?...turrible... The Open has begun in Frisco...the elite group of Tiger, Lefty, and Boomer ...early scoring is lead by Tiger...Lefty bogied the first 3 holes...sounds like Crazy Horse on a GOOD DAY. ..live telecast starts a 9 am on ESPN ....by the way, my son is going there on Saturday...happy father's day...oops, I'm happy for him... It is official... Dr. Cris has bought a new (to him) practice in Montecito ...adjacent to Santa Barbara....it's a combo group of 3 dentists......

Round One

Image
Thunder! ...Just like the pundits have been saying....and what Crazy Horse has been saying... Lebron has issues with pressure...and Durant does not...as OKC whupped the Heat in round one...nothing more than holding serve...and that's all they have to do to win the title... Miami started marvelously, using all their weapons for a substantial lead at half...and poof!...they went one on one and lost their mojo...and the Thunder turned the momentum their way....and Durant and Westbrook were tough in the last stanza... So the headlines?.... poor James needs help....what?... poor James needs to pass the ball...he is not the same as the big time closers as in the past....as I alluded to yesterday...he wants to be, but is not that type...sorry Heat fans, but it's true...so says me...don't get excited, as they have all the tools to get a win tomorrow... and ABC (and the NBA) would lurve if this would go seven... And the beloved Sonic fans in Seattle , reportedly a...

Stuffy Golf

Image
Back in '98 there was this fledgling golf pro from Stanford...no, not Tiger...that had this debilitating injury that made him use a gulp ... golf cart! ...to compete with the rest of the blokes on the PGA Tour...well now, it became a huge deal to the purists...like even the legend, Jack Nicklaus...to say "no!", he has to walk like everyone else... and yet his leg injury was beyond the occasional thing...this issue went all the way to the Supreme Court!...yup, who ended up giving that pro the right to use the cart... As time wore on, so did his leg...and so did his game...bounced around a bit, ie. the Nationwide Tour...then he quit competitive golf altogether...ended up as the golf coach at the University of Oregon ...where he is to this day... AND ...he went out and tried to qualify for the US Open...and MADE IT! ...and now, all the rumble about the golf cart garbage resurfaced...and the Golf Channel debated it...again...and one of the hosts actually said it was an a...

Be Warned

Be very wary...kids...there is a pattern here that is downright scary...the latest burp by the GOP nominee (he is, right?) Mitt Romney...that Prez O needs to heed the call of Wisconsin...that there is too many government workers....especially firemen, teachers, and the like...wooah...I have tried to be on the fence...BUT...more statements like that and I can't be...in fact, I just may get involved... I have said for years, that the groups that he is talking about are the most important ones that the public's taxes support...and need...in his little part of the world, where the most money exists, he may not need what the everyday person needs...he can buy whatever he wants...especially the presidency...or can he?...it may be time that the common man rises up and puts a stop to what appears to be headed our way...stay tuned... On a much more benign item...what on earth is LiLo thinking?...she just runs amok of the law and thinks she can get away with it...her latest of runnin...

OKC and Miami

OK, the best team won ( the Heat )....the younger, faster, and deeper team moved on...in both the west and east...and, I have to think that a whole lot of people are pulling for the underdogs, the Thunder (Supersonics)...by the way, the city of Seattle is still hurting due to the departure of that team 4 years ago...such is the plight of very rich people, playing with the lives of the very average people...I digress... Have to think this series will be a toss up ...I know this is like waffling...naw, I can make a case for each team... The Belmont ...even though the injured horse "I'll Have Another" couldn't go...it was still a beaut...with "Union Rags" doing a marvelous drive on the rail to win it...one of my favs, Johnny Velasquez, piloted the hoss... Last week was one of the strongest in the last 5 years for the stocks ...go figure...as Europe falls flat on it's face... Going to settle in and watch some golf ...man, I was turrible yesterday....
