$1.28 Billion Reasons

The awesome Padres erupted for 10 runs in a W over the Twins out at Petco...something like 43,000+ fans there...well, that is amazing...both things...the 10 runs were part of a 5 home run barrage...that is super, but what is not...how can the opposing manager keep his starter in for so many blasts against him?...'saving the bullpen' is pure hogwash...ruining the psyche of a young man, is a concern...but, many of the beisbol blokes do just that...boooooo...

Not to be overlooked...which I have yet to comment on...is the pace of the home runs hit by the Yankee, Aaron Judge...now at 41!...their lineup is such, that the opponent can't pitch around him...so, he gets his pitches...add to that, the new Yankee stadium is a Cracker Jack...small box...launching pad...man, he sure seems like he is gonna break the highly coveted 60 mark...in the non-roid era of this time...

This is pasta weekend...last eve, made the most bodacious Mac and Cheese...4 types of the dairy stuff...baked it, to finish the delicatessen off for 20 minutes...bodacious...and tonite?...the homemade by moi, lasagna...with a twist of a layer of pepperoni...hmmm, what you think?...spinach, ricotta cheese, special sauce with sausage and burger meat...mozzarella...man, we are gonna beef up for this weekend...add a bootle of the red...perfection perhaps...we shall see...

Friday Fish Fry

The Good Ol Days

Were they really, 'The Good Ol Days?'...before the web net...the computer...the instant messaging...Facebook...the AR-15...the 8 track, the cassette, the CD...the drive thru burger joints...contact lenses...color tv...the cell phone...and on and on...before all that...was it better?...

The music was on the radio...dadio...most of the cars and trucks had 'em...am was the only venue...vinyls were the ones we bought...45's and 33 1/3's...you had to dial up the tele (a landline, you heathens) if you wanted to speak to someone....er, ask out for a date...take her to a burger joint, where you actually got out of your rig, and walked up to a window...maybe the date was to a drive in...like theater...in by midnight, or else...

Most peops went to this thing on Sundays, called a church...and believe me, there was nothing open on this day of the week...nuttin...the family watched TV, black and white...life was so simple...back then...and...we all had just ONE TV...one...

To find out stuff, you had to go to the city library...you don't even know what the dewey decimal thing is, do ya?...if you didn't read the newspaper, you were out of it...fuggit about politics, you were given a few choices and you had NO IDEA what they were really like...

It was a high probability that you smoked cigarettes...at least for awhile...wore penny loafers...had Levi jeans...poodle skirt for the ladies...Pendleton shirt for the guys...take a gander at old Beach Boys album covers...that was real...how we looked...

Money...coins were what we had...which bought a lot...coins...25 cents for a gallon of petrol...5 cents for a Coke...shoot, 5 cents for everything...and we had very little coins...going to college was a dream...to set you free...
