Sometimes a team has just got "it!"...and this KC Royal one has IT!...peaked at the right time...timely hitting...and a very strong bullpen...play great D...and will use the small ball...hmmm...take note Padres, you could, I say COULD do this too...as KC won at SF and grabbed the lead at 2-1...definitely NOT OVER, but makes you more of a believer, right?...hmmmm... The Ducks offense trounced the Bears...but what concerns me, is what has all season long...we are so lost on D...we do have LBs, right?...so poorly put together...and is a huge lingering doubt as we get closer to the finals...we can't always score 60... Did catch the last half of the Blazer/Clips game...hmmm...two things...PDX is better, not defensively, but overall...and LA is worse...and floundering...I know, it's just preseason...but the signs are there...everywhere the signs...should be part of a song... Morning kids, as we are back from a mini-vacay ...this time in Indio, with our hosts, the US of A country travelers, Larry and Barb Gahr ...94* and it was, well, hot on the course...to say they were gracious is an understatement...so much fun! Got back in time to watch the Bolts / Broncos ...no match my friends...as Denver right now...I mean RIGHT NOW, is the best team in the NFL ...we are not bad...but the Orange has both a great O and a great D...Peyton was purnt near perfect and voila...another win...we, on the other hand, are decent on O but woefully weak on D, especially at LB and DB...ahem, but the my FF team has 3 wides from Denver and I got a LOT OF POINTS...I digress... Maybe I am a bit off base here...but the Housewife of NJ...the Giudice fam ...to get all that prison time....hmmm...makes more sense to fine the heck out of them...have house arrest...have them work to replenish what they didn't pay...than to put them with real criminals...I'm just saying...as bad ...

The night belongs to Peyton Manning ...as he surpassed Brett Favre...for the most TD passes thrown ...and some...as the Broncos continue on to their destiny...I see them as this season's fav for the champ ...not only is the brightest of all the QBs...but has the quick release that is so important...and 4, yes, 4 good wides....and now they are using the tiny RB from SDSU...a growing trend in the league...couple that with a much improved D...there you go... One interesting fact is that the KC Coach Reid , has an incredible record coming off of bye weeks... it's 14-2 ...the victim this time around?...yup, the Bolts...it was a close game...the diff was a last minute FG...BUT...showed the problem that we have down here in SD...not a very good D...we were there...but our tackling was awful...don't blame the coaches on this one...and a mighty mysterious penalty called for a facemask...the replay was brief...and def inconclusive...and was deep in KC's territory on a long 3rd...

Remember the cartoon Duck Dawg?...the spelling may be wrong...wait, that was Deputy Dawg ...but... the Ducks whipped the Dawgs last eve...and continued their trek to get back in the top tier...of the best of the best... Our frosh RB, Freeman , from this area...well, he's from Barstow...just a hop and skip east of here... had a huge game ...was it 4 td's?...at least 3...and showed more maturity for a true freshman than any other in the land...well, I can imagine that... It was a strong showing...and the best in a while... Other stuff... Baylor and Oklahoma , each got beat and I say "bye bye" to their chances...can't lose this late in the season...and the same for your team, Notre Dame ...who put up a great fight, yet, still lost to FSU...both really good teams, I might add...well, I did... So... UO should climb a few more notches ...and that game in a couple of weeks, looms so large...Stanford...just be a doozy...and we will be there!... My golf. .....
