Think the 13th ain't mysterious?...just ask highly ranked Clemson and WSU about it...as they both tumbled in their matchups last eve....oh my...the former to Syracuse ...what?...a program resurrecting...cool...and the latter to the Cal Bears ...what?...who the Ducks recently throttled...and the Cougs just did a number on UO...go figure...on any given night... Tonight ...the game of the season for the Aztecs ...as they host the entire state of Boise ...wait...the blue field boys...a win and SDSU finally gets some national recognition...maybe...as does the stud RB, Rashaad Penny ....named in some as a Heisman candidate ...the Stanford RB is, and we popped him a good one...baby steps...baby steps...however, them Vegas blokes keep dropping the spread...down to 6...what do they know?...hmmm... I have been hesitant to comment on the family released from the terrorists in the Pakistan area...so skeptical to the reasons for him there in the first place...hiking?...in that area...

Morning, ya'll...it's that date of dates today... Friday the 13th ...of course, it just has to be in October, right?...ha ha...you one of them out there that are superstitious?...back when...I was coaching, I tried everything...same this and same that...silly things, really...but... There are some high rises that don't have a floor 13 ...or some players would never wear that number...a black cat cross your path?...walking under a ladder...throw salt over your shoulder...the list goes on...you fear any of these?...I dunno, I am skeptical... Talk about your demons...think the entire DC Nat's don't think they have them?...that beisbol team just can't get over the hump...really...in yet another loss, when it counted...to da Cubbies...in almost a never ending game of...maybe futility...so Washington's season is over...and C moves on...well, I think the better team won...for whatever that means...didn't that game finish past midnight on the 13th?...not ...

MLB Playoffs are alive and well right now...the elite 8 are being whittled down to the top 4...with one game to go...the Nat's and da Cubbies...nice... These games are a best of 5...and in the AL a beauty was the Indians / Yankees set...where NY came back from 2 down and won it...terrific pitching and timely hitting will do it...however, if the game is favoring NY in the last 2 innings, it is OVER...as they have the Best in the Biz as it's closer... Aroldis Chapman ...throws it at least 100mph...hmmm, just like he did last season, as he led da Cubbies to the title... On they go to face the Houston Astros ...a real hot team with plenty of hitters...should be fun...but these games have gone on so long...for the NEasters, the weather is a huge factor ...just awful, and cold... Witness last night's fiasco of a 'beisbol' game ...with the Nat's and da Cubbies...driving rain storm...and the game was played on...geez, it almost looked like there weren't an...

LIBRARY !...you know, where all them books are (were) stored...and where the encyclopedia was... periodicals ... cards that showed where most anything pertinent that you had to look up...was... daily newspapers (in print) on a rod, neatly placed where anyone can read...of course, you had to have a Library Card ...$5 maybe for a year...shoot, maybe for life...and the fines...you be late with a book, and you got dinged...right?... Quiet... the shhhh of it all ...if you wanted, you could seek sanctity...get lost in a book, or whatever...or, be seen...too...depended on what your agenda was... They were everywhere ...a city one...all schools had 'em...a state one...the list went on...written history of the people and the country...make that, of the world...all at your fingertips...well now, times have changed... Morning, kids ...yup, still under the weather...but better...a bit...chest cold is not good...duh...but, I did watch a bunch of them beisbol playoffs, that I slighted in yesterday's brief blog... The Cubbies / Nats match is a good one...looked like a colossal goof up in LF could have cost C big time...as Washington's P Scherzer was no hitting 'em...he gave up one, and then was pulled...hmmm...and da Cubs pulled it out...and probably will march on... The Bums closed out the DBacks in 'Zona (again!)...did they stay outta the hot tub?...said they would...the Yanks and the Indians in a donnybrook...toss up...think Headley will see the field again?...ha ha...ofer what?...the Astros have something special going on...versus them Red Sox... More info let out on the Vegas massacre ...that the assassin scum shot the Mandalay security guy BEFORE he did the killing rampage...the lapse in time to get to him, by the police in question now...I dunno...easier said than done,...

The excursion to the north land is now over...unfortunately, not without landing a chest cold, fever and general malaise...slept 24 hours upon returning...egads...the head ache will not subside, dang it...probably take a few days for this to pass...well, enough about moi... My host, the Snookie, was great...well, he had a back problem...but the stay itself, was...the reason for  the trip...the Duck game...was not...as UO was saddled with a 3rd string QB, a frosh...you can guess the results...going against a team that just beat the mighty Trojans of USC...the O was limited to just a portion of their offensive plays...too predictable...and easy pickings for the Coug D...this Duck team has to hang on, until they get their QB back...might be a winless one on the path... In my non-stop dozing yesterday, I did see a bit of the horrendous match of the winless (see above) NFL blokes...the NY Giants and the LaLa Chargers...a win for the Chargers it was...I must continue to say this......
