How about that for a sarcastic Saturday!...MLB is nearing their highly publicized 'wild card' games...almost disregarding those teams that have won their divisions, outright...and get this, the 'wild card' games are just one!...imagine, in all of beisbol, the series goes at least 3...but, they change up and make this a one and done...stupid...what is this, high school?...where they indeed only play one game, and not a series...OK, should be a best of 3...get with it, MLB...and no, the listless Padres did not make it...horrific collapse...expect pink slips everywhere, but where it should go, the GM AJ Preller...yes, I am redundant on this...

Some dang good matchups in college football today...Oregon (giving 8) at Stanford...the Dawgs at OSU...Arkansas at Georgia...Michigan at Wisconsin...Cincy (favored?) at Notre Dame...Ol Miss at 'Bama...this will be a big weekend for movement in the Top 4...we shall see...well, might be...

The GOOD Month

I stare at my title for this Friday, and wonder why on earth I said that...cuz, I gots to pay my bills some time today...that's after going to work this am (golf)...getting a flu shot and a shingles one (no. 2)...this afternoon...and find some time to rest up...eat and drink something...interesting, as 'they' say to drink 16 ounces of water prior to getting the vaccinations...will beer suffice?...Rainier, of course...

The word on the street, er on the web net...is that there is a Covid 19 pill in the works...rather than get inoculated, the swallow of the pill...wonder how many non-vaxxers will go for this?...

Our new iPhone 13 pro max phones are now here and in use...thinking that normal people would have them up and running in less than 30 minutes, it took us two hours...and the sync to my iwatch took an hour, to add to that...just for your info, if that's what you are gonna do...everything appears to be transferred, thanks to the 'cloud' whatever and wherever that is...'it's up there'...

Have you ever stopped and thought about the technology that we are blessed with?...the way these computers and phones now work is simply amazing!...the speed and accuracy...lord...'we take it for granted now'....

The passage of the funding for the government happened and signed on by Prez B...how often do we go through this?...like at least once a year...

This just hit the Horse wires...Supreme Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh has tested positive for Covid 19...is he inoculated?...all my sources are now on it...'but he shows no symptoms'...of the Covid or being a judge?...

Prez Jimmy Carter just turned 97...PBS did an awesome docu on this former USA President..he was and is amazing...brilliant...worth watching, kids...

A very fun and entertaining NFL game on that network, mind you, last eve...the winless Jax at Cincy...the two top draftees going at it, for the past 2 seasons...won by another FG....at the buzzer...you KNOW my thoughts on this...compared to a hoop game...it is tied and you trot out a guy (or gal) who has not played in the game...he shoots a free throw to determine the outcome...c'mon...play on...oh yea, Jax is still winless...

Please answer me this...why would health officials REFUSE to get inoculated for the Covid 19 virus?...why?...what do they know, that we don't?...or, well, I just don't get it...enough for them to lose their jobs...are THEY afraid of the needle?...?????????....

Horse's Top 10

I think you are all in the need of a vagabond top ten list of something...we seem to be obsessed with numeration of the best and worst of...anything...Letterman made a name for himself doing the gig...which I always looked forward to...especially, when he had people reading off the stuff...ah, do any of us consistently watch the late night shows anymore?...Letterman, Leno, Carson, were the ones we would stay up for...now?...anyway, I digress...it's time for the Horse's Top Ten crapola for the day...it's just one man's opinion, and you may differ...that's OK...I mean, you may have voted for donny, and I'll never understand that...

10.  Britney Spears no longer has a conservator watching over her every moves...so, is the judgment of a judge...how old is she?...c'mon...but after trump, naming so many new judges throughout the land, I am not too trusting of the system anymore...are you?...what happened to the vote of the public to get these people into the land of the gavel?...

9.   The picture of the mother and son, who died after falling from the 3rd concourse at Petco Park, is absolutely disheartening...not sure if you can judge (that word again) much by a picture, but it just breaks my heart to see it...was it an accident?...how could this happen?...too many sketchy things let out to the public thus far...

8.   The NBA...pro hoops kids...is mandating that all the players and coaches MUST be vaccinated...and there are blokes who still say they won't...what is wrong with these guys?...they must be afraid of the needle or...they are totally ignorant...which might be the combination of the two...and if you tell me it's because of religion beliefs, you need to check out that religion mighty closely...

7.  The Gabby death...it is so disconcerting how little is let out to the public...as to how she died...the coroner says she was killed...but how?...where did they find the body?...and the continuance...not being able to round up the fiancé...Dog is on the case, now...is this a symbol of how incompetent the police department in that area actually is?...listen if this sort of thing happened in Turner, Oregon...the case would be closed by now...

6.  We have this Netflix obsession with the show 'Longmire'...the way we see it, it had to have been on Natty tv...not sure...do you know?...have you seen it?...but, it does have breaks in the telecast, that sure appear to be advertisement times...inquiring minds want to know...

5.  The new iPhone 13 will be in our hands today, so the shipment thang says...am really interested as to what the camera will and can do...differently...Boss Lady has an older phone than mine, so she will really be intrigued and happy...and we know we have to keep the BL happy...

4.  Not sure how this works...but ancient Senator Mitch McConnell just announced that a government funding deal WILL go through, thus, to avoid a shut down...he talks, and the rest of the pack listens and follows suit...wouldn't it be a joy, to see these 'elected officials' make their minds up ALL BY THEMSELVES?...maybe that should be !....

3.  You forevers can turn away on this...but, the two new books about the demise of trump...are out, one this week and the other next...and the Horse will get 'em and read 'em...one mighty say, why?...he is out of office...yet, his impact is still being felt...he was worse than I thought...and that was really really bad...worse than that...I wanna read it...then, I will tell you all about it...

2.  I promised to not write about the sad Padres...but, dang it all, this one was a beaut...up 9-6 on the Bums last eve...the management brought in a relief pitcher that has been banged around real well the past SEASON...the rule is, that if you bring in a RP, he MUST face 3 batters...he did, and gave up 3 home runs to the 3 guys he faced...and the manager left him in!...OK, get rid of them all...Tingler, too...

1.  Shakira...the 'hips don't lie'...the sanger...said she was attacked in Barcelona, Spain...by a pair of...wild boars...what?...they walk the streets?...ah, the boars...really?...and we think we have problems in our streets...were they hungry?...why would they attack?...how'd she get away, or did they maul her?...too much info left to hear about...

False Hope

After 50 games in the MLB season, the mighty Padres had the BEST RECORD in all of beisbol...then it all fell apart...why?...first of all, kids, it's a game...a bunch of them...to be successful at it, you must have quality pitching...in the next time frame, the league mandated a new rule...that the pitchers must be checked for foreign substances, that they may use to alter the baseball...if you listened to the National broadcast of last eve's Bums/Padres game...they inferred that Yu Darvish went from one of the best starters, to one of the worst...cuz of that 'new' rule...a number of pitchers from the Friar's staff went down with injuries...and to make matters more bizarre, the club fired one of the best in the biz...the pitching coach, Larry Rothschild...murmurs throughout the league were started...

2ndly...the clubhouse turned...gone was the fun, and antics that were quite evident...the blame had gone everywhere....of course, the normal next thing 'the closed door players only meeting' happened...do they ever work?...nope...the 2 stars of the team actually had a very visual altercation in the dugout during a game...the team had run amok...

3rdly...the GM could not pull the strings on getting help when needed...actually, a brutal amount of missed opportunities...none worse than missing on Scherzer and Turner...couple that with some dealings that he did make, regardless of team atmosphere...like Franmil Reyes to Cleveland...a terrific big bopper, that was a fun bloke in the locker room...interestingly enough, the Trib ran an article yesterday that supported this GM, AJ Preller, and all the good stuff he had done...no doubt a plant by the owners to satisfy the public...not me, nary a notion about the banner years that the traded away guys, Renfroe and Reyes, are having this season...

4th...again GM Preller stuff...the pitching staff, from starters to closer...are amongst the worst in all of baseball...no pulled punches here...these are mostly guys that Preller brought in...which of them came up from the farm system, that HE drafted?....Weathers and well, I can't think of another...how many games in the after the first 50 games, did the Mgr Tingler have to use all relief pitchers for a full game?...much too often...

Finally, the blame...is not on the coaches...nope...it's what they are left to 'coach'...this is all on the misdirection of the general manager...if there is to be change, this is where it shall be...or, should be...BUT, guess what?...the talk of the National broadcast was that there will be changes in San Diego...the next to go will be the Mgr Tingler...blah blah blah...not the right move, kids...

OK, you have been patient with moi today...I am through with this being the main and in this case, only topic....tomorrow, back to destroying the rest of the political world...

Horse Chatter

'Gonna tell you a story about a man named Jed, Californy is the place to be....set a spell, take your shoes off'...well, I shortened that quite a bit...you could replace Jed with the Horse...just doesn't sound very good...and Beverly Hills, naw...but, San Diego, yes...sure the shoes are off, and the flip flops are on...no, did not find the bubbling crude...

You know, we never missed 'The Beverly Hills Show'...whatever it was called...'the Beverly Hillbillies'...I think that was right...my mother just loved granny....made her laugh so...great memory...'there goes that sound again, Jed...someone is always at the door when it goes off'....and her wave at the end of each episode...funny...

DWTS...Dancing With the Stars...oh my...I do like the premise...but, absolutely despise the new hostess...loved Tom Bergeron...Tyra Banks...gosh...what was the getup she was wearing last eve?...looked like a red pumpkin dress, with only her head sticking out...to hide the rest of her, I reckon...whatever...I bring this up, cuz Cheryl has Covid...after saying she had been double dosed vaccinated by Moderna...?....is it one of those false positive tests?...I guess the virus lingers in all of us...now...I dunno...

There is this country sanger...Jason Aldeen...he was the guy who was actually doing a set in Vegas, when that killer mauled down so many a few years back...recall this?...anyhoo, he has a controversial thing at his feet...his wife is a forever...and is selling pro-trump crap...and is also an anti-vaxer, and proud of it...bubbling crude way of life, if you ask moi...

The Voice...well now, we have a bit of a feud going on between Blake Shelton and Ariyana Grande...2 of the 4 judges...is it just me, or is she too big for her britches?...must say, she is quick with her commentary...but, like so many these days, what has she accomplished for her to be a 'judge?'....must be good for the TV ratings...bad banter means good numbers, just ask donny...

OK, you are gonna say, here we go again...but, the coffee maker Keurig, has a newbie out...that brews the coffee even hotter than their normal...and somehow senses the coffee beans better...'senses?'...well...of course, the Horse is interested...as the one thing the maker I have now, is that it isn't hot enuff for me...Boss Lady said 'NO!, you are not gettin another coffee maker!!!'...Costco has it at $134...not that I am  interested, but maybe you are...and if you get one...pass on to me what ya'll think about it...

Just last week we had this huge amount of Haitians at an underpass in Texas...they are all gone now...where did they go?...sure, the Horses and the whatever they were ridden by...with whatever they were rounding people up with...and then the rumored airplanes to take them back to their homeland....so, what did happen?...

Dominance

The Ryder Cup was just pure dominance by the Americans...record shattering score of 19-9!...the young stars of the USA came through...and beat the highly decorated crew of Europe...so healthy in their experience, that I thought that they were the favorites in this match...I think I was the only one who thought that...yes, I was so wrong...it was a great 3 day of viewing for moi...as I just lurve these frays...

DJ led the way, not only competing in all 5 sessions, but winning in all of them....the first time that has happened for a USA guy in like 40 years...and, it was very telling how good Jon Rahm is...it still is kind of weird, as most of all of the Euros now live in the country...ah, ours...tax breaks, I reckon...

Closure...over the weekend the mighty Padres were officially eliminated for the wild card slot...listen, it was over when we lost getting Scherzer and Turner from the Nats, and the Bums did...fire Preller and let's get going in the right direction...

Dang it all, this will be a shorty...early tee time...

My feelings about the Rams beating the Bucs, however, was right on...this LA team is a goodun....and to tickle us Duckies...Herbert led the Chargers over the KC team...in KC!...

The Hills are Alive

With the sound of...thunder and lightning...as we return from our mini-vacay from Ponte Wine Resort...just a terrific stay at their venue...the rooms are awesome...the pool and hot tub, perfect...and the restaurants and wine...sublime...just an hour away, but seemingly nestled in another part of the world...well, Cali...if you haven't yet, get on over and give it a try...do join the wine club, as everything is discounted...the rooms, the beverages, and the restaurant stuff...needless to say, our getaway....as we celebrated our 47th...

I did not post while there...gave that a vacay, too...a little concern that my reading numbers have been low...is this the time to retire the gig?...not sure...I lurve doing it, but perhaps, I am getting too mellow...or repetitive...give me a holler so I know what I should do...

Spent much time, well, as much as I could watching the Ryder Cup...man, I do enjoy the competition...the USA team is far exceeding what I thought...way cool....today, is the culmination...12 singles matches...right now, the lead is strong...11-5...just need 4 1/2 points (oops, make that 3 1/2!) for the crown...er, cup...will say this...Rahm, Sergio, DJ, and Morikawa are tuff tuff tuff in paired events...Rory is not...

Back and forth, channel swapping...as the Ducks and BEVOS, won their games last eve...another ho hum win for UO...playing below par...41-19, but the score is not indicative of the match...the Arizona line humbled the Oregon line...surprised moi...and the Beavers...went into SoCal, and put on their big boy pants...and mauled the Trojans...no match...the power of OSU was dominating...outside of some highly questionable refs calls against the Beavs...this was a stunning blow out...45-27...USC is not what it used to be, especially with an intern HC...

To the ridiculous...obviously out of my lane...for a number of reasons...not knowing the bloke at all...other than his odd name...Machine Gun Kelly...was performing in Louisville, Kentucky...well, I don't think he is a country crooner...last nite...and got booed, heckled and received a gaggle of hand gestures, as he was trying to do whatever he does...just thought you'd like to know...

Tragedy over at Petco...as a wife and her 2 yr old child, fell to their death from the 3rd terrace at the ball park...imagine, as many saw it happen...traumatized...not sure how it happened, but the word 'suspicious' is being used...

An Amtrak train derailed in Montana...on it's trip to Seattle/Portland...3 dead and 20 something injured...how did this happen?...we have been riding the Amtrak quite a bit in the past 10 years...there is a section of track around Del Mar that is quite iffy...rather than build that cliff side up, why not alter the route inland?...
