So a list is needed...the top patriotic songs of the sort of modern era...you know being a flower child...I think I mostly protested the Vietnam war...but, the country is still rolling along...and the 4th of July is this country's birthday and all...so are you thoroughly educated on this?  Now, I'm not listing the "way back" songs...enough, here goes: God Bless the USA ... Lee Greenwood ...I think this song has had high merit for a number of wars...and tragedies... Only in America ... Brooks and Dunn ...arguably the best duo that this country has ever had... America the Beautiful ... Ray Charles ...understated and awesome... Where Were You ... Alan Jackson ...just after 9/11...real... America ... Charlie Daniels Band ...have you heard this? Back in the USA ... Chuck Berry ...aw c'mon...it's great rock... I suppose I could name a whole lot more of the protest ones ...but not this time... And now for the ridiculous and recent... I played in 92* heat...

Well, I finally got my new phone ...sort of...it is back ordered and will take a couple of weeks to get here...the Droid HTC ...called the Incredible ...Google one...so sick and tired of my Blackberry Storm spinning and not responding...'cuz I have so many important calls out there...hey, it was needed and I had the op to get one...all the reviews have it compared real well to the Iphone , which Verizon does not currently carry...as you know... Getting back into town I had my reservations about the  condition of the Padres ... lost 2 to Colorado and had an afternoon delight to finish the series...and were resting AGonzo , Gwynn ,and Eckstein ....and voila! ...a 13-3 explosive win ...everybody got hits...go figure...I guess 'cuz I was back they had to start playing  up to par...new series today versus the Houston Astros... Where oh where is King James going?  The lottery starts today...rumors...the Bulls , Heat , or NY ...or back to Cleveland ...following very ...

Just spent a wonderful 3 days in wine country ....and not the one you normally think of, like Napa, Sonoma, or the Willamettte Valley ..., but in Temecula ...stayed at resort called South Coast ....beautiful rooms set right in the vinyards...the pool and spa were salt water and perfectly awesome...the area itself has 44 wineries with huge buildings and tasting areas...had no idea that this even existed... just great! So today is the day for the unveiling of where the mighty free agents sign for this next season... King  James goes where?  And then the dominoes fall...where on the food chain does Portland fall? After a great east coast swing, the Padres come home and are falling flat on their keezers ...I am just going by who Buddy is putting on the mound...but the worst we got have been on tap... what is going on, Buddy? It is soooooo nice out!

Let there be no confusion here...the Padres are 4 1/2 games up in the west...the best record in the National League ...and NOBODY is talking about them...after a 5-1 swing through Florida , and the sweep of the Marlins , a little more press please... Will Venable hit another long dinger and is back on track... Latos and the pen did their thing in the 4-2 win... The oh so slow Cristie Kerr destroyed the field in the LPGA major back east... won by 12 strokes or so... In the PGA , veterans Corey Pavin and Scott Verplank , rallied to tie and force a playoff with the boomer, Bubba Watson ....in the end, it was the boomer who won... Did you the see the collapse of the mighty Dodgers last night?  Up 6-2 in the 9th at home...they blow the lead and then lose it in the 10th to their rival, the Yankees. ..ouch and good... Time for some wine and sun in Temecula...

Well, I am out there on this...I have a Blackberry now...and am looking for a newer, lighter phone ...and, it seems like the 2 major players , Iphone and Droid , are each better than what I have now...so, what's the input from you?  The only hangup I have ...I have Verizon , and they don't offer the Apple product....so, is it worth the change to the Droid ?  For those of you out there, do you have a Droid ?  What do you think? Now for the more mundane things in this world...the Padres won another series...this time at the expense of the Florida Marlins ... 2-1 , and the solid pitching of the slow moving Jon Garland and GAB finishing the deal...throw in timely hitting by AGonzo and Garland (really?)...and it's the recipe for success ... 3 1/2 up ...the final game this am and it's the hot Matt Latos going... real good chance today... So you soccer fanatics ...as much as I watch the sport...it looked as if Ghana was way faster than the US ...so no surprise t...
