Go USA! Masterful beginning for the underdogs on Friday. Do not count out the Europeans as the initial blow for the USA was needed, but...Stewart Cink was terrible. Great fun though. The Might Titans upset McNary yesterday in football. By all counts never expected it. The Pads took it to the Nationals in 14...Kooz had a good game...now that is an upset. Let's see the Brewers canned their skipper to right their ship and they look worse than ever. That is just upsetting to anybody trying to finish off a possible playoff run. USA!!!

The Pads were off yesterday and it was a brief sigh of relief. The Trib has said the series with the Nationals is for the rights of SDS's Strassberg. Probably right. The morning Ryder cup has been great! Leonard got his 1st win and he deserved it. Lefty got a half and with Kim they are real entertaining. It is the best team stuff around, as I said before. Go USA. The Chargers/Jets game is still not sold out. I see the Chargers in a big win. Watch Sproles as he will have a huge night. Poulter is a hand full.

Absolutely my favorite team event of the year! Europe versus USA. I have had hopes in the past for the local team but this year I have none. Let me tell you why. The Europe team has the best player (Padraig), the best competitor ( Serg ), the best iron player ( Westwood ), the best player to make a statement (Casey) , and the best supporting cast. The US team has 6 first timers, along with guys who have not done well, Lefty, Justin L (o-fer), Furyk ...this is going to be a tough time for the squad. Now it is golf. And every day is a new day. But...I'll be watching and hoping that we pull off the biggest upset since, well, when they did it to us! By the way, I wish we had Tiger and Rocco on this team.

So rather than put up a tough fight against the Rockies yesterday the Pads (BFB) go with Estes as he flounders about again. He gave up 2 hits an inning and eventually got lit up for 4 in the 5th. BFB then brings in the knuckle baller that was just basement bought and gives up a 3 walk grand slam! Yost is fired from a contender and the Pads stick with the worst manager in baseball. A lot of talk about Hochali who has professed his sorrow for his blown call(s). Pity him the tabloids say. BS on that. He should be suspended and the NFL MUST look into the curious Vegas betting line on that game. Regardless, the Chargers have to get their defense together and do a number on the visiting Jets this week. The Mountain West appears to have a bit more going for itself this season. BYU and UNLV big shockers over UCLA and Ariz. St. are beginners. SDS I have doubts about.

This, that, etc. The Pads just have a boring way of finishing off this season. Up 6-2 and breezing, they bring in Clay Meredith, who promptly gives up 5 straight singles and ends up squandering the lead to a tie. My issue here is the BFB(Bud guess Black), has NOBODY warming up as his thrower doesn't have it. The aftermath of THE CALL in the Chargers game is interesting. The Trib uses it as the headline, but dodges the real concern. Hochali should be suspended and be investigated. The Chargers need to be more aggressive on defense. They have been stuck in nickle and dime coverages and have been picked apart. Is this coaching? I am getting more and more impressed with the QB Rivers. Tuff kid. Kooz 0-4 and wasting a spot in our lineup. Sproles is a tick away from the featured rb. BFB and his staff need to be replaced by more competent people. Bochy, Torre, Pinella all make him look silly in how they handle pitchers and situations. Find a new guy for a better approach. Glad I ...

Oh my God! I have been trying to keep this immediate blog on the Pads. However, I have to comment on the Charger/Bronco football game. A blown call by Ed Hochali, the game's white hat, when with less than a minute to go in the game he called an incomplete pass. At the time of the play he was looking right at it and just followed the ball to the ground and watched the ball being picked up by the Charger player and get tackled. As the review was judged he announced that the call stood as called. What was the call? He then said the ball goes to Denver...on the 10. That meant it wasn't as it was called on the field. That it was a fumble and HE HAD BLOWN THE BALL DEAD! His actions did not show that he had blown the whistle or that he had called the ball down. Something is fishy. I believe that Hochali should be suspended and put under review to find out what is going on. Oh by the way, Denver got the ball on the 10 and scored and eventually won the game on a 2 point con...

The push for last place and 1st pick is on. The Giants did a whitewash on the hapless Pads last nite 7-0, behind Tim Lincecum. Kooz continued his ugly slide for the Pads, going 2 for his last 18 at bats and now is below .270... At this point in time it seems that there are as many visitors as local supporters in our HOME GAME. Rock on.
