Fresh Air

This is for all you worker bees in this fine world...specifically restaurant ones...when you are serving, waiting on, cooking, and owning one...in a confined area...for a 5-8 hour shift...you are so lucky...fortunate...that there is an entry point, where patrons can eat, or drink, OUTSIDE!...now, some of you are cursing at the Horse...yes, happens more in SoCal...you may work in a colder, much colder, place in the country...my point, is that you can traverse OUTSIDE, and breathe in the FRESH AIR!...I noticed this last nite, while we were at one here in the Gaslamp...Las Hadas...which we have re-found...long story...and ALL the worker bees, would find time to come out in the front...where we were seated...I get it....I would, too...it was like when I was teaching...I always desired the rooms with windows...do YOU know what I mean?...

The Friars are in NY, taking on the damned Yankees...guess what?...we won!...a 5-1 smiling effort...Jr hit a dinger and got to give it back to the RF clan in that stadium...for youse who know the place, that's where the roudies are...he had a good time rubbing it in...today, this am...10 o'clock...we are without Bogie and Manny...

The road to stardom, is now kaput for the teaching pro, Michael Bland...the slipper does not fit...he had an 11 over 1st round...and bolted to the bottom of the list...it's OK, as he got plenty of attention...and a nice tune of $288 grand...sounds good to moi...

I have told you about our 'shelter in place'....which we were NEVER given the go ahead...well, the Diego police say they have arrested a suspect...this is good, but how about clearing the proclamation...

The Friars in a dramatic come from behind win in DC...down in the 9th...2 outs, and Odor hits a 3 run dinger to win the game...much needed series win...off to NYC to play the damn Yankees...well, somewhere in NY...

The bologna piece, triggered some more of the era...I would just have a Miracle Whip san, if we had no bologna...true story...the reason?...well, other than no meat...was that there was this thing in the 'Hot Lunch' program...that you had to show you ate all the food on your tray...the Peas Guard, Miss Norton, would send you back to your table, until you did...well, kids, I hated peas...the ONE time I had the 'hot lunch', I was petrified to go up...stuffed them in my milk carton...and then ran like Hell...so, I never went back...she terrified me so, I was so worried I would get her as my teacher...fortunately, didn't...man, I don't know if she was good or not...but, I sure had my suspicions...

I don't know why but almost every time I read or hear about 'AI'...'Artificial Intelligence'...I think of trump...certainly not what it is, but what he says...seems artificial...made up...filled with ZERO backings...something he just made up on the spur of the moment...he can't read, write, or LISTEN...

Been told, that I write very similarly to the late Andy Rooney...well, gosh, that is a compliment...but, far from a truth...I'm also typing as fast as I think...which has improved over these 15 years...of Crazy Horse...

The launch of your next republican candidates name to the list who wants to be the nomination of that party...was a disaster...no surprise...as DeSantis of Florida (DF) did it again...he was trying to use the social media Twitter...and it turned into a debacle...couldn't get the message out right...listen, dude...you need to Test, Test, and then Test...again...before you come on the web net...let alone, he is way far down on the list of possibles...as I have said before, he is more trouble to all of us...than even donny...his rule in Florida is an exact example of what he is capable of...republicans, there are many people out there...find yourself one better than this one...which shouldn't be that hard...

The passing of Tina Turner...83...you know, we have had a lot of 'stars' from our era, pass on lately...she was a very awesome talent...hit the stage and was magic...so much energy...

Golf...this is the topic for a bit...Pro Golf...as the new league of 'LIV'...54...headed up by Greg Norman, and funded mostly by Saudi $...a new brand of golf...54 holes...teams, included...which was founded to lure guys away from the regular PGA Tour...let's not go into, the fact that the Horse despises Norman...BUT, I can see guys, that are 40+ taking the outlandish cash to sign on...most can't compete with the young guns on the regular tour...Brooks Koepka (NOT 40) did so, as he was hobbled...for one...and rehabbed, and is now back to his abilities...and is still young...so he won, and won again...I don't blame the dudes...it's a lot of money, and it sets them up for life...I get it...I still think that Norman stinks...is this gonna go the same way the pro football went...when they had the AFL and the NFL?...

Survivor...still the best produced reality show on the pixels...Jam Jam won...it's such a test for people to indeed survive...vote people out and then...get their vote to win...interesting dilemma...the same sorta thing for the summer show, 'Big Brother'...nonsensical mishmash of people...who the cameras watch all day and all nite...we always say, we are not watching this year...and yet, we do...people are strange...

Here at the home...the refrigerator...we gots nuttin in it...so, the Costco trip is on the docket...as well as a trip to Goodwill to drop off some stuff...pick up Boss's contacts in, well, outta town...wash the rig and get some petrol in it...and ?...

Truth be told...I just as well have a PB&J sandwich...chunky peanut butter and raspberry jam...my choice...

Bologna

Baa-low-knee...yes, that is the pronunciation...who'd a thunk this one up?...another of the crazee spelling snafus in this language...why am I bringing this up today, Horse?...I am asking myself...it's what I do...talk to myself...do it a lot on the golf course...swear at myself...do you ever do that?...

Bologna was a staple when I was a youngin...not exactly sure what was in it...beef, pork, chicken...parts or whatever...really didn't care...it was sorta meat...yup, didn't want to know...it was what we had...surely, cuz it was affordable...a gourmet sandwich was it and a lathering of Miracle Whip in so yummy white, balloon bread...I loved it...in later years, like in college, I had am amigo who would fry his bologna up...you know, for some fine heated meat...

As time went by...we, the gang, would use bologna as slang for something that wasn't a truth...somehow, whoever comes up with slang...decided to start it, cuz they KNEW bologna was all fake something...come to think of it, I don't even realize that I probably still use the word like that...all these years later...I will bet ya that many of the youngins, don't even know what bologna is...their sandwiches have to be turkey breast, honey baked ham, chiseled roast beef...heathens...they have no idea....what real is...

Bologna is really a city in Italy...some call it 'The Fat City'...really, it is the culinary capital of the country...yet...yes, bologna did originate there...but, it was called mortadella...way back when...the 1400's?...I think that is right...c'mon, who would want a mortadella sandwich?...so, the city got it's world wide fame, changing it to...what it is now known...

Speaking of Italy and throw in Sicily...way back when the people there were literally starving...and made their way over to America...immigration...there was a time that they were funneled to New Orleans...and actually pushed the slaves out of work...really...they would work for virtually dimes...anything to survive...this I had no idea about, until I saw it on the PBS Show about historical backgrounds...they were doing Tony Danza...gosh, it is so interesting...people trying to survive...do you not see the similarity to the Central Americans seeking to come here, now?...

Here at the home...well, all of downtown Diego...we were on high alert...as a killer was on the loose...killed one and shot another...we were on involuntary lockdown...or, is that voluntary?...red alert...be careful...this was at about noon yesterday...ho hum, right?...

The Friars won their 2nd in a row...this game was in DC...perhaps, a sign of things to come?...the Celtics looked like themselves finally, and staved off a sweep by the Heat in Miami...gosh, you never know...they do have the talent to do the near impossible, come back from a 3-nil start...

The NAACP has issued a warning to NOT go to Desantis's Florida (DF)...people of color should be in caution...if you travel there...no kidding...this is real, kids...

All those things we had done to our home...got finished...whew...we were sweating with the oldies...not easy moving furniture and then...moving it back...don't tell anyone...shhhh...but, it was fun to dissect the bed, and then figure it out...and then we moved it...to a diff spot...well, anyway...it is done...hip hip...we have a massage thinger on the bed...Boss hates it...it's only on my side, now....bzzzzzzzz....

Getting it Right

Condo living...has some repairs to it also...like a home?...a house?...no...but, inside the structure...yup...as we have had some stuff...the expert window cleaner...we have gobs of windows...amazing...our ice maker went on the Fritz (what on earth is that slang?)...had it replaced...and today, we have a carpet dude, here, to stretch out the carpets...of course, we are dependent on the many people above us, to keep their units running properly...we are on floor 5, there are 35 floors...

The whole living arrangement is kinda cool...great views...we have 2 decks...24 hour security...walking to restaurants, bars, and parks...and to Petco for the Friars...we are 5 minutes away from Amtrak...10 minutes away from the airport...2 blocks away from the trolley, which goes most everywhere...and we have Lyft and Uber available 24 hrs...our Doc is 15 minutes away and messages us whatever we need...rad...

Yes, this vertical living has it's plusses...it wasn't cheap, but nuttin is in SoCal...with the old Jerry Seinfeld series, he called his condo 'his home'...it is just that...I keep thinking back to all that stuff we stored in our previous home in Orygun...it is all streamlined now...ha ha...

The Nuggets did finish off them Lakers...how sweet it is...there is a clip showing LeBron saying 'he should be coaching this damn team'...right, the inmates revolt...imagine 'coaching' in that league...and now, if the Heat do the next one...the sweep of the Celtics...then it will be set...for the Champ series...

The Idol

For all of you who have followed the American Idol Show thru the years...I have to think that this one was one of the best...the judges are spot on...they appear to really care about the contestants...there is none better than Lionel Ritchie....just a class act...

The fan vote is always a quizzical thang...the tally and all...as you know, I am skeptical about any of this...I like to see actual numbers...as I have queried the process from day 1...but, that is what most of these talent shows do...'trust us'...the other one, the Dancing With the Stars...who knows...

The Hawaiian kid was clearly the fav this time around...at least for the Horse...and the crowd in attendance, too...HE WON!...but over the years, there have been some great winners, and especially some runner ups...that have been stars in waiting...Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert, Jennifer Hudson, Kat McPhee, Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina, Haley Reinhart, Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken, Jordan Sparks, to name just some I recall...perhaps, the most under appreciated, is Gabby Barrett...

The final show was fun...the highlights were Jelly Roll (seriously), Lainey Wilson, and the collaboration of Judge Katy Perry and Haven Madison....who I think has a shot at stardom...watch for her...and of course, the winner Iam Tongi, who I would GO and see in concert...

Must talk a bit about the good time story of the PGA teaching pro, Michael Block...who not only finished tied for 15th...but, had a HOLE IN ONE on the final round...a winner, just as such...the W by Brooks Koepka...the whole T...stud...

The NBA playoffs...both the Heat and Nuggets lead 3 nil...so good...especially that the damned Lakers are LOSING!...makes my month...

The Republican frontrunner...your guy trump...has already started up with his name calling...singling out his Florida Guv as tiny...and the gal on the View as a bunch of shaming things...he is despicable...and I can't believe YOU would vote for him...if he is in the slammer, would YOU still vote foe him?...

Sports...there are winners and losers...it is the nature of it all...the highs and the lows...'act like you've been there'...'only the good survive'...'nice guys finish last'...the sayings are countless...and are used by most every coach or leader in the game...ah, games...motivation...stabilization...realization...if you are a sports junkie, you will see this...especially in the South SoCal area...as the Friars are fumbling about...diving near the bottom...why?...the 'talent' is there...so what gives?...'The Thrill of Victory and the Agony of Defeat'...ABC...

The NBA...you KNOW the powers to be...like the TV people and their ratings...so dearly want the Lakers and Celtics in the finals...the script is set...and yet...the other two teams in the mix, are altering that outcome...the Nuggets are now up 3 nil...and the Heat are hosting today, at 2 nil...so sorry, TV folks...as you know in sports, it's not over 'til the ____________ sings...another of those sayings...

The PGA Major...has a couple of LIV guys in the elite...Brooks Koepka, and Bry DeChamboo...man, does the latter look way smaller...can't help but say roids...was his beefing up, a while back...the Canadian Connors, the Norwegian Hovland, and the great American hope, Scheffler...lead the possibles...oh yea, the feel good story of the week, the teaching Pro Michael Block is 8th!...at even par still, and is going out with Rory today....these are the highs...
