Voting or Coercion?

Morning all...we get back into politics today...well now, at least the process of it...the voting...here's where it gets tricky...and I'm going to try to connect the dots...to the methods used in the places that are determined by "votes"...ie, the TV world, the sports world, the motion picture world, and of course, the political world...

The Repubs just announced who would be in the varsity event and who would be in the JV in next week's debates...FOX and the Wall St Journal claim the version that will be used...and their update listed who was where...determined by a combination of 4 latest national polls...try like I may, I am not able to find which ones they are using...I guess they are in the trust me mode...and the two blokes bumped to the JV bunch?...Huckabee and Christie (pictured)....

Have you ever been part of a national poll?...who has this honor?...it is as ambiguous as any voting scheme there is...and these polls can have as few as one hundred participants...like I know a lot of Repubs...I know of not a one that has EVER said they were backing Ben Carson...not one...many have said Trump...thus, I wonder how this percentage business can be real?...

Coercion...you know all about this...when businesses find ways to get you to vote for their guy or gal...some might say it is in the form of "lobbyism"...some may give you $ to give your nod to their candidate...really?...let's tie in the record world...when the major record labels gave (or give) $ to the AM or FM stations to play their songs...thus, we were hearing what somebody paid us to hear...

Does that still happen?....geez, look at the amounts of cash that floats in that field...the more one listens, the more that CD, er, iTunes...or whatever...sells...do you actually think the XM plays what the people want?...or is it piped in to you as to their wishes...and their gains...really, I don't know...I hear rumors...

Don't get me started on their voting process...these different award shows are as bewildering as can be...to be quite pertinent...in the last CMA's, Chris Stapleton won big...like best guy...have you HEARD his CD?...I bought it...priced at $6.99....hmmm, the others are at least $10...he had one good song on it...and he won the best?...what?...in contrast, listen to Blake Shelton...where all songs are good...who does the voting?...and, is there some $ greased?...

OK, I'm going...the reality TV shows...like American Idol, Dancing With The Stars, or any of them that takes what the viewers vote into consideration...they never...ever...tell us the public...what those tallies are...trust us, they say...and in those, one can vote like 10 times or something as ridiculous...my friends, that...is...a...joke...

Sports...so many issues here...none worse than the Hall of Fame for baseball...the voting members are journalists!...not former players or managers....and these blokes and blokettes (not sure how many are gals)...have issues that are beyond belief...or go to the most lucrative sport in college football...where there are polls that help determine the newly formed final 4...there you go again..."polls"...so much to be made if you get there...or even to a "bowl" game....

Money drives the system...and if you, or your school, or your team, or your business, or your candidate... benefits...there is a good notion that many of your votes were bought...in some form...and coercion just may have been used...or even worse...that the scheme itself has been tinkered with...and is fundamentally flawed...

You see, I just want to see the "REAL VOTES"...like numbers...not some % thing...the numbers...
venting over...I've calmed down...and I'll see you on the web net...over and out...
