OK, it's just not the same as in Eugene...not that I ever went there for it...but...the beginning of the Ducks season is upon us...and it is on FS1...at 1 pm...yeah...kind of a big upset last eve...as North Dakota St beat Kansas St at Kansas...of course, NDS is a power house on their level...but...KSU is a good un on theirs...big V...really...by the way, the final score of the Trojan game?...30-10 over Hawaii...spells t-r-o-u-b-l-e for USC...ha ha...Johnny Football suspended for the 1st half of the Rice game...he would have sat the 2nd half anyway...as the rout will be on, with or without him...boo, NCAA...your Beavs take on East Washington...it's not covered anywhere down here...no line no nothing...so it's a slam bam, right you Beaver nation kids?...OK, we'll talk later... The Pads are turrible...duh...as they got embarrassed by the Bums...like 9-1 or something...inept pitching, hitting, and fielding...just a conglomerate of ugly...as I said would happen...my son ...

The season started with a bang!...some good uns...Utah surviving at home versus their cross state rival, Utah St...it was really a close one and fun to watch...and Ol Miss scoring miraculously to beat upstart Nashville's own Vanderbilt...great game...and I saw a lot of USC (ha ha), like the Carolina one...beat UNC...again...missed the end of it, as it went to a lightning delay....and then finished my night watching the oh so boring Trojans beat the heck out of Hawaii...who has a turrible QB, that could have made this game close... The Ducks are on down here...on the new station FS1...tomorrow...duh...and the game didn't even make the odds board...really?...such a discrepancy they won't put $ on it...how about the other Oregon team?...Eastern Wash...another stomp?....some close games to watch...BYU and Virginia...Northwestern and Cal...UDub and Boise St...don't get the spread on UCLA (21) and Nevada... So...Britain says no...what on earth is Prez O thinking?...don...

College Football Season...finally...the beginning of the best one of them all...sorry, NFL fans, this is better...the best games?...they are all good...imagine the Trojans flying to Hawaii, and getting beat!...ha ha...or North Carolina upsetting South Carolina...or Rice, scoring 4 touchdowns in the 1st half and holding on to beat Johnny Football...yup, it's the best Jerry, the best!... Syria is still on hold...thank goodness...hopefully, cooler heads will prevail...I don't want any repeat of shock and awe... I'm always completely surprised when the Pads play like a good team...as they survive and win the final game at AZ...took a brilliant performance by rookie, Robbie Erlin....5-1...of course, we got big hits from our one and only power guy, Will Venable...by the way, our other guy of the same ability, Carlos Quentin, was shut down for the year...day off...then on to LA to take on them Bums...eegads... Del Mar...the final weekend...what?...where has the time gone?....

So...way too much imbibing last eve...I am old and should know better...and...well...if I am a bit incoherent you know what the problem is... It appears that more countries are getting involved in the Syria thing...France and Britain, for two...let's hope that the entire world realizes what's going on and gets aboard...and actually get some teeth out of the United Nations...peace... Splitsville for Catherine Zeta and Michael Douglas?...so are the reports...didn't she give him...oops, leave that alone...just another 'beautiful people' fallout.... The debate over the awkward performance by your Miley Gurl...ha ha...what's to discuss?...she is awful and her 15 minutes needs to be over...over, I tell you... The Pads rally...then lose another in AZ...I watched zero minutes of it...in OT...as the football season rushes to start tomorrow, means that I will watch SD as a last resort...have not seen if the Duck game is on down here... MLK walk and speech...huge...

And here we go again...we are the World's Police Force ...the overseer of all that happens in the planet...don't get me wrong...the atrocities are horrendous in Syria ...whatever side is doing the damage...and the use of chemical weapons has always been a universal problem...the fact that a country would actually use them on their own people...is an act of futility by the regime...the last possible way of dealing with the opposition...right?...here I go...we need to be part of a huge group of upset nations...not the only one...there should be a list of countries that show their solidarity in stopping the aggression...and then...deal with the country as a whole group of nations...so...Mr. Prez, let's do the leg work and get the entire world involved...not go on our own...please... The Miley Cyrus fallout ...it was the talk of all the talk shows...her obscene performance on the MTV Channel...does she laugh all the way to the bank?...did it bother you?...did you see it?.....

Morning kids...it's Monday, Aug 26, 2013 ...and the weekend was full of surprises...some great sport stories, some not so great entertainment ones...seven thoughts by CH... 1. The MTV Video Music Award Show ...the acts have become the most bizarre that you may actually see on live tv...from Gaga to Nu Direction  ( or is it One) to JT....not THE JT , but Justin Timberlake...where do I start...it's more of a freak show...first, the "President of Pop" , Timberlake, as called by Jimmy Fallon...OMG...and his act went on FOREVER...he can dance...his voice is minimal... 15 minute set ...and Gaga...good lord, she changed outfits during her number...ending up in a bikini...eegads...BUT...the worst and most disgusting thing I have ever seen on a show.... EVER ...was the grotesque set by Miley Cyrus ...she must have been on something...as no one, I mean NO ONE , would allow themselves to be seen like that...gyrating awkwardly...mimicking a pole dancer...sticking her tongue ...

Exhibition...yup...BUT... the Bolts showed promise in Arizona last eve...the O is much improved...yes, Norv is gone...and we have gotten in to the 21st Century in the coach's mind set...going speed game...no subs, so the D can't sub, too...duh...the jury is out...BUT...a nice start... The Pads ...I have said repeatedly that this is a below managed team to the likes of the Giants and Bums...we don't bunt...we pull guys late...we rarely hit and run...we don't sit guys who need to be...I hate saying this stuff...but it's true...OK, we lost 3-2...a game we should have won...but didn't get runners in when we should have...boo... Big deal around here is Little League ...I remember when we went to a birthday party in Chula Vista a few years back...when the town's team won it all...and that was all those people talked about...with no relatives on it, too...just a matter of pride for the city...well...guess what?...they have another team in the finals...and th...
