A Special SDS Day...

Image
For all the futility of the San Diego St. football season, yesterday proved just the opposite for the Aztecs. Check this out. The guys hoops team upset BYU, the gals team upended UNLV...they each are in the finals of their conference playoffs...the baseball team, also beat UNLV, a team that was coming in to the fray with an 8 game winning streak. Of course the phenom, Stephen Strasburg, was on the hill... As I mildly mentioned that Lefty was lurking at Doral...Whoa!...he unleashed a brand of Mickleson that we haven't seen for quite a while and is 3 up on the field. Tiger is still wallowing about at 3 under, just a mere 10 back from the leader. Still great drama to come about here...and do not count Woods out yet... The WBC comes to town today and there is free practice sessions to the public over at Petco. Our game is Japan vs. Cuba...should be an awesome one... So I watched the Blazers against the Nets last night...don't get me wrong Portland fans but BRoy is not on t...

A Whale's Tale

Image
So here's the story. A whale has gone askew and has been seen in the San Diego Bay. Not to be left out we got on our bikes and trekked down to Harbor Island to see the great whale. The view from the bay at that location is spectacular, but alas, no luck. Off we went towards Seaport Village and then we saw the great specie! Huge water spout and whale frolicking about...it truly was a great sight! SDS beat UNLV again in the MWC...this time in the conference playoffs...at UNLV... Kyle Blanks continues his torrid spring ball for the Padres. He hit a 3 run tater against the Brewers...Kooz also had one and that is real promising... For Sunday's WBC at Petco, it is Japan vs. Cuba, as I expected...cool I did not notice Tiger's length yesterday, but did see he wasn't close enough to the pin to score well and is far back after the 1st round at Doral. It's a full field of stars and he needs to get it going or a bunch of the possibles will become more than just that. Le...

Exclusive Interview

Image
Wow! Rarely am I as excited as I am now. I have scored a rare interview of a legendary, local TV junkie, Jasper Crispin! A little bit of back ground of Jasper (JC). He has been in the area for over 25 years and professes to have watched every, I repeat every, major event that has aired on the boob tube. His expertise is not only on sports, so some of my followers will have to bear with him as he speaks his mind. I have included here the highlights of the interview. Please be advised as he does not hold back. I scored this at Starbucks at 4th and Market... Crazy Horse(CH): First of all, thank you Mr. Crispin for allowing me to invade your space for this interview. Jasper Crispin(JC): Please call me Jasper. By the way, who the hell are you? CH: I suppose the biggest ticket item now is the Bernie Madoff rip... JC: Sorry for interrupting you Crazy, but that Madoff basturd should be put to hard labor for the rest of his life! You got me going already! I lost $735 to his scheme and I want b...

WBC Upset

Image
The mighty Dominican Republic, loaded with Major Leaguers, got eliminated by the Netherlands...THE NETHERLANDS! Pedro and his crew just couldn't muster enough offense to get the job done... The US, if their pitching holds up, will win this...mark my words... The Chargers inked LT for 3 years and that should do it for his fb life. So cool that he will finish up where he lives and loves to play. Tomorrow Tiger gets it going at Doral and again...if his length is back...so is he... American Idol...I know I know...it's the real deal...I like the SD rocker, the red headed Heart type, and the Christian glasses guy... Wednesday is the lazy, SoCal type of day isn't it...

Kooz

Kevin Kouzmanoff may be back...if you could judge by yesterday's monster day versus the Diamondbacks. KK had 3 doubles! In the WBC, AGonzalez had 2 HR's and 6 RBI's in Mexico's drubbing of matchless South Africa. Kyle Blanks continues to impress with another double and there is some notion that he may try some outfield time... Anyway you look at it is was a nice day for the Padres... The DTWS initial show this season was highly entertaining and left me thinking there were about 4 in true contention for the crown. Not one of those was Lawrence Taylor... This Sunday the WBC makes it way to Petco and it appears it's going to be Japan versus Cuba in the afternoon session that we will be attending... Speaking of the Charger's LT...me thinks he is going to stay in San Diego for the upcoming season... Make no mistake about it...Gonzaga still rules the West Coast Conference... Tiger returns to the PGA tour this Thursday at Doral...let's see how his driving distance ...

Dancing with the Stars

Image
I hope you agree with me...that dancing is a real sport! It has all the elements of sport...conditioning, rigor, timing, competition, and being judged... The new edition of Dancing with the Stars begins tonight with a new lineup that features some athletes from other sports...IE. Lawrence Taylor(FB), Shawn Johnson(Olympian), Ty Murray(rodeo star) ...from entertainment...IE. Lil Kim, Chuck Wicks, Denise Richards, Gilles Marini, Belinda Carlisle, David Alan Grier...and from outer space IE. Steve-O (reality star), Wozniak (computer geek), Melissa (dumped Bachelor gal), and a Playboy playmate...No really it is sport! Not a fan of Duke anymore...they are soft inside and don't have the full court pressure they once were known for...UNC has more balance than most teams in the country and are under the radar...the Big East is the most over- rated conference in the country...always, the PAC-10 is under-rated... Another no-name wins in the PGA. Y. E. Yang wins it and adds his name to those ...

WBC

Image
So did you catch the 1st game by the US in the WBC? The starter was non other than San Diego's own Jake Peavy. He was consistently in the mid 90's and had great control. By the way, USA did manage to eek out the win against Canada... I suppose the one thing that bothered me was the reference that he was going to be traded to the Cubbies by opening day. I thought that was dead... The Padres pitching staff has been lit up in the past few games and it is quite scary to figure out who they are going to go to after starter number 3. On the bright side I am happy with Eckstein and Blanks as fitting in offensively. Can Kyle play 3rd base? USD hoop team is out of the playoffs, as expected, and limped through the entire 2nd half of the season. You have to feel very deflated after all the hype for this squad. I have seen no mention about their next year's recruiting class... SDS beat UNLV and is headed towards their playoffs with an equal chance as anyone to win it. A lot of mention...
