CRAZY HORSE

There are no better words...to describe the show that Little Big Town put on last eve at the Del Mar Fair...than SUPERFLUOUS! ...not only, starting very near the announced 'show time'...but NO opening acts...it was all them...of course, it may have something to do with we were in the 10TH ROW! ...this pix I have is taken in the latter part of it all... They kept knocking their hits out...amazing us all...like 20+ of them ...started the night with Elton John's 'Rocket Man', acapella...and is was on...the favs?...'Loving You', 'Day Drinking', 'Wichita Lineman', 'Boondocks', and 'Girl Crush' ...but really, there were so many others that were grrreeeaattt...the harmonies were fan tastic... The fair itself was slammed ...typical stuff, but lots of it...the rides, the food (duh), the booths of endless things to buy, and the PEOPLE...everywhere...this is the pix of the infamous 'Chicken Charlies' , who is known to fry...

Egads, I am totally amiss...as the Horse forgot... National Bourbon Day ...what?...yes, kids, it was yesterday ...I did not celebrate it... I got a reprimand from the Jim Beam bottling company, late last night...they had scoured my blog and found NO mention of the special occasion...yes, and had put me on notice...here's the deal...I was awaiting my shipment of the very new, Bob Dylan Bourbon ...that is coming in today...just threw me off schedule...I will rebound and do it right, JB... The inconsistent, yet consistent, Padres ...lost another first game of a series...even though, we have come back to win 5 straight...the first one is bewildering...in Hotlanta...yes, we had multiple chances to get the W...but, it was NOT in the cards...get this...it is the 8th straight loss to them, at their pad...here?...we get them...guess home court advantage prevails when we play the Braves (grrr)...duh... We are off to the Del Mar Fair today...culminating with a concert (again?)...thi...

The Horse is back...we took a little excursion up north to Santa Barbara ...stayed with the kids...had the teeth cleaned...visited and ate well...went to a concert...ah yes, it was great fun... We left the driving to them Amtrak dudes...takes 5 1/2 hours to get there...which may or may not be the actual drive time by car...but...you don't have to meddle with the bloody LaLa traffic!...it is stress free...we go in the business class section...that gives you a seat for sure...and some goodies and a wine, if ya'll choose...I either read a book (more on that later), listen to me music via the Beats headphone, or chat with the little wurman...and watch the scenery as we do so... The concert was at the Santa Barbara Bowl ...you ever been there?...which is cut out of the hillside, like 7 or 8 blocks from where the kids live...the negative issue, is the climb to the seats, then the decline...it is steep and is taxing...sorry, but true...for us oldies, not the easiest thang...t...

TOP of the morning, out there in the real world, to ALL of you kids ...it's gonna be a grand week... trips, concerts, foods, drinks, sites to see, celebrations ...alas, what more can a guy ask for?... the fam getting together. ...that is the BEST of all...yup, it is destined to be a beaut... How about if we do a quick (?) wrap up of the recent occurrences...going to call it Monday Morn Quarterbacking ...maybe more of a 2nd guessing ...that the Horse deems appropriate...and or, just gazing at the stuff that went on... some incredible, some debatable, and some downright despicable... POTUS ...uh oh, here we go again...is meeting today in Singapore with Kim Jong Un, the North Korean Boss ...well, whatever you call him, as his real title...said to be mano a mano...nobody else in the room...do they both speak English?...or Korean?...has to be with interpreters, too...don't you reckon?...maybe they will bring in the Worm (DENNIS RODMAN) for clarity...with the nuclear disarmament...

Horse racing around the WORLD is alive and well , kids...witness the event of the Triple Crown ...the 3rd and final leg of it... the Belmont ...where the New Yorkers in Elmont, showed off what they are all about ...watching and betting on these fabulous animals...dressed in their finest and showing them audacious hats...tell me, one doesn't get the tingles, when the horses are about to come out for the post parade to the playing of Frank Sinatra's 'New York, New York' ... Justify , the SoCal horse... was the WINNER! ...and the Triple Crown was his...so hard to do...and this Horse, had the trifecta and a $10 buck daily double ...which made me a happy camper...the trainer, Bob Baffert, got his 2nd TC...listen to moi, Michael Wilbon, one of the hosts of ESPN's PTI...the sport is bodacious and YOU are wrong... The on again, off again, on again summit with North Korea and the USA ...is on again...say what you want or will...but Prez T is delivering on this ...m...
