The Holidays?

As we have returned back to the world of what we know...the condo life...filled with new knowledge of what BOONDOCKING is all about...really, it was fun...after the initial shock that that was what we had...manipulating the power in our house battery was the key...well, and being very aware of the tank levels, if you know what I mean...I would give us a solid B for the efforts...ah, maybe B-...but passing...

Alas, around 6ish last eve...I noticed out of my eye...something that I did not expect to see...across the street, in the near condo...a CHRISTMAS TREE all lit up...for some reason, it struck me odd...then happy...looked further south, and saw the lights of the Marriott...in the shape of a tree...apparently, we are in the holiday season...

Listen, as I was reminded by some good friends...that we have gone this far in the 'race'...don't quit before the finish line...in essence, don't let your guard down now...the vaccine is near...I think...the Thanksgiving gathering should be put on hold...create your Zoom for that...feast in private...we are...we shall decorate soon...and think of it more in hope for the future than anything else...it's what we MUST do, kids...hang in there...

The leadership of the country has failed miserably...when has this bloke stood up and told the USA what they should do, to protect themselves and the others?...never...imagine...the Prez-elect and VP-elect have done so...Joe Biden and Kamala Harris...but not the guy still in the White House...in fact, he has made mockery of the safety features that we all need to go by...as he has put all his loyal people in jeopardy...even his family...unbelievable...

News services...it is time that you do not broadcast what he is saying or doing...don't go to his briefings...stay away...let's concentrate on the positive and get ready for the good...

I was viewing a college football game...two teams that are so-so...but, the matchup was great...Minnesota and Purdue...the D was barely there....so, as a fan, it was fun...not as a coach...ha ha...came down to a winning score at the buzzer...alas, the official called a phantom offensive pass interference...and that was it...brutal...replay showed nuttin' honey...gosh, I am not a fan of....well, ya'll know...

The NBA is in the season of free agents a moving from team to team...$...the biggest moves were with the champs, the Lakers...securing some fine lads, to strengthen their 2nd team...gonna be hard to dethrone these guys...

One of the simple joys in life...taking your rig down to IN'N'OUT and getting a fresh cheeseburger...thing is, they are popping up in new spots...throughout the west...and the lines for the newbies...well, it can be a problem...in Colorado, the line was said to be....get this, a twelve hour wait!...really?...I saw the lines...man, it could be...12 hours for a 5 minute bite to eat?...no, not me...

The Ducks host the Bruins (Chip's) at noon...is this still on?...so many games are getting canceled due to Covid...the line is 10 1/2...for UO...breaking, now the line is 17...as there are many UCLA dudes OUT!...did not talk the Beavs...they are not favored at home vs Cal...but should be...there are many Bears OUT, too...

TGFS

Yes, sir, Bob, I say to you, TGFS...it's but a short jaunt away...so we can recharge our system...and we can do the same for the cabin's battery...and we have stumbled upon the coolest little market...that has EVERYTHING!...much like a Sunriver one...you name it, they got it...deli...sushi dude...meat section...extensive wine selection...as well, as booze...

Last eve we had the fires of fires....the above market sold the bundle of fine wood, seasoned properly...$5.99 a bundle...so we decided to cook a can of beans on it...and spear some dawgs and have some weenies...and top it off, with some smores...the flames were awesome, kids...the beans were done, however, they were dropped in transit...into the fire...the dogs?...undercooked...if it not for the booze, it would have been catastrophic...BUT...the smores were spot on...and that's what we had...

Today we are using the GRILL...got an extra LP thing to make sure we don't run out...burgers and steak on the agenda...yes, we have figured out this BOONDOCKING!...part of it, is this awesome site...

The coffee...always an issue...ordered an old time PERCOLATER...recall them?...so, in case of what we do...we have an out...until then TGFS...Thank Goodness For Starbucks...

This San Elijo State Park...is completely full...many ages...guess there is no school...this is midweek...but, I will say this...it is the hotbed for SoCal surfers...and like above, all ages, men and women...amazing numbers...great viewing for us non-surfers...99% have wet suits...

We have a condo in Cocoa Beach, Florida...well, we have one week...listen, that Atlantic is warm water, this Pacific is cool...however, just about the same number of surfers...and we boogie board there, not here...

The Celtics picked Peyton Prichard of the Ducks!...wowser...I'm surprised and yet, happy for the young lad...in the NBA draft...would I pick the Ball kid in the 1st round?...nope...

Boondockers

Here we sit...right on the beach...BOONDOCKING!...for youse, unaware...we are camping, er, RVing...one (?) thought we had hookups, alas, we have none...so, we use what we have in the Cosmo...a house battery...which is good for one day...and then we have to recharge the bloody thang...drive the rig a bit...we can't make coffee...and who can start a day without that?...so, off we went to a local Starbucks...so much for roughing it...

For the 1st time, we loaded up our bikes...ah, thanks to the Pinnacle staff, namely Christina and Brad...who helped (!), well, had a lot to do with that success...so we will bike this afternoon...

The view we have is extraordinary!...refer to my Facebook posts for the pix...the sunset last eve, was spectacular...like being in Maui...really....

The food, we are going to grill it up on the Blackstone...listen, kids, we will conquer this...filet tonight....ha ha, not sure what else we can cook...maybe, boil some taters, and make some mashers...we shall figure this out...

We have plenty of 'Wine, Beer, Whiskey' to borrow the song of Little Big Town...BTW, if you haven't seen that vid, you must!...trust the Horse...

I see that Pfizer is now claiming that their Covid vaccine is 95% effective...your turn, Moderna...I figure their will be 96%...I asked that Q out there, about the percent...did hear that the flu shot his only 27%...so, we are looking at good stuff....get it out to the public NOW!...

At what point in time, will trump say ENUFF!...I give!...as he is still exhausting whatever he can out of the USA money for a president's lawyer fund...I guess that's what you would call it...it's on our ticket, so he will use whatever he can...surely, after he has been ousted from the White House, he will cease the procedure that he is using...costs money, his...unless, he can talk the Republicans into paying for it...I doubt if he pays for anything...

Moderna or Pfizer?

Wishing and hoping for a vaccine for the Covid 19...and now we have two in the running...Pfizer came out last week, saying they are 90% effective with theirs...Moderna just released theirs, claiming 94.5% effective...so, who do you choose?...what is the criteria for the selection?...who does this?...do they both go out?...is there another company?...as we endure more and more cases of the virus hitting our country...record shattering...without a doubt, we need the vaccine...it can't arrive soon enough...

So what did trump Tweet this am?...after this rather USA shattering news by Moderna..."I WON THE ELECTION!"...get in there, Republicans...do your intervention...and have anyone, any company, help him pack his bags...he is an embarrassment to the country...and to the system that was established when the USA came about...and Twitter, can you just shut him down?...

So, I was a thinking about this...trump claiming that 70 million people voted for HIM!...I think not...a goodly bulk of those, are Republicans who would tally for their side, regardless of whom their candidate was...even orange...huge orange...but yes, I do believe that he does have rabid forevers...in the range of 30% of the Repubs...and yes, that is an issue, thinking that some 20 million people actually believe in the guy...

The Masters...it wasn't a total cake walk...but purnt near...as DJ (Dustin Johnson) won by 5, at -20...a record, too...he is right now, the best in the game...without a doubt...and that person doesn't always win this event...it did happen...the best won the best...

Maybe I'm Amazed

When the Beatles broke up...back when...way back...I was itching for some of their individual, like solo, music that they would for sure put out...is this in your era?...Paul McCartney did so first...with an album, a vinyl, that I so wanted and desired...er, had to have...that's better...the hot single from it was 'Maybe I'm Amazed'...an absolute wonderful track...alas, the rest of it, was like 'filler'...that many artists used to do, when they HAD to record an album, to fulfill their contract...the Beatles, as a group, never did this...so, I was more amazed that this was the only song that had legs...

The Masters...with so many blokes so close, it looked like it was going to be a donnybrook today...well, DJ (Dustin Johnson) has separated himself from the crowd...up 4 to start the final round...count me as the one saying this...without the patrons, lining the course at Augusta...it is pretty and all, but it appears on the tele like many other golf courses...gone is the WOW factor...am I right or am I right?...

The Ducks must have had a humongous brain meeting at half time, up in Pullman...as they were getting their arses handed to them by the Cougs...changes were made, and UO came out on top...it was a struggle, but a terrific 2nd half...promise on the horizon...

Reminded me of back in me teaching days at Sprague High in Orygun...the football team, led by coaches Rob Hill and Art Lushenko, would quite often make great half time alterations...and win...serious...
