CRAZY HORSE

So it was a great evening ...the opening act was a weird, yet, entertaining act called Natural 7 ...a seven man acapella group...that their schtick is they mimic instruments as well as sing...lots of energy and the only thing I think they missed was singing some doo-wop...you know me, I'm a sucker for that era... Then came Michael ...with a big band...it was awesome ...he sings the crooning stuff and some fun, upbeat things, to boot...part of his show is his banter with the crowd...spot on... Sinatra and all...and his own songs...he actually went out into the audience...just a swinging, cool dude... A- The Padres got a close, but no cigar, for their 12 inning loss to the Phillies ... boo I'm not sure what to think of the Bolts loss to the Saints at NO last night...I know, I know, it's pre-season...but the D looked out of sync... liked the O... One o'clock Pads game today...

A lot happening this weekend...starts with the Michael Buble concert over at the Sports Arena...this is the show I have been waiting for...really into the Sinatra era of music and the new take on it by him...tix are expensive, but what the heck... I know it's only an exhibition game but...the Bolts are at the Saints tonight...go tell the Packers as they ran up 59 points last night on the Colts ...or...tell Indy that... Tiger who?  He gets his divorce and then plays the best he has all season...Barclays all weekend... Padres host the Phillies for a 3 game series that is probably a pre-cursor for the playoffs... Latos goes for the Pads and it is supposed to be a packed house for all the games...6 up... Over at Del Mar is the Pacific Coast Classic ...the best in the west...it's Saturday and I'm at the Pads game... I got myself a barbecue yesterday, and the tri-tip roast was the maiden grill...kind of racing talk... Foggy here this am...

This is the way we start our day in the GQ ... What a bang, bang, win over the DBacks last night...HR's by Tejada and AGonzo ...and, of course, great pitching by LeBlanc and the pen ...move to 6 1/2 games up... We are getting closer to our housewarming party ...the bar stools are in...the sofa tables on their way...the 2 extra dining room chairs imminent...and the barbecue is picked up today... There is a couple doing exactly the same thing we are doing here...just sold their big house and downsizing to the condo life...so funny to watch someone else doing it...and on our way to the game...there they were at the British Pub, sipping their cares away... Michael Buble tomorrow night...have to admit, this is THE concert I wanted to see...love the era of music he sings and his delivery is awesome... I'll write my review... Is there more going on in this world more than Lindsey Lohan?   The amount of time that the press gives her is ridiculous...train wreck... Why do the ...

Just for curiosity I took a peak at what is concerning the great state of Arizona ...now, I know that's rubbing it in a bit...as the Pads shut out the DBacks last night 5-0 ...as Denorfia (AZ killer) and Venable (rolling) hit dingers , and the pitching crew of Richard , Friera , Thatcher , Stauffer , and Mujica threw 0's at them...we have tonight's game... Phoenix weathered a huge thunder and lightning storm... The Cardinals are wondering if their QB really is going to be the USC grad, Matt Leinart ...just a lot of concerns... Big day in the political world as the conservatives won big. ..is this strange for a state that has put into effect the immigration law? Time for a white chocolate mocha , non-fat, no whip...make that a tall...extra hot...

It's about time I reveal my favorite eating establishments ...now, it may be here, there, and everywhere...and that means up and down the west coast...so, it gives all of you the right to do some traveling...my list does not list different ethnic stuff, just my favs... The Strip Club ...OK, I can hear you laughing now...it's on 5th in the Gaslamp...it's one of those that you grill your own...you pick what you're going to grill, steaks, chicken, tuna, etc., get a bottomless salad, and french bread...there's 5 different grills...it's the best and we go about once every two weeks... PF Chang ...it's a chain up and down the coast...the salt and pepper shrimp the best...along with the lettuce wraps...did I say Uncle Dan's noodles? Ruth Chris ...starting going there in Maui for one of our many anniversaries and now it's a tradition...the Filet is the best anywhere... In N Out ...for you northerners...it's the burger joint that only has burgers...ge...

So I have to think that the world becomes a little smaller in the hoops world...remember when the only team that had any hoopsters was the US of A ?  Not any more...take for instance the Spanish National Team. ..a group composed of many NBA players and play the game right...now I know the USA team doesn't have the likes of Kobe, LeBron, and Dwayne , but still, a good one... It was but a short 3 weeks ago, and the LA Dodgers were basking about with their closer, Jonathan Broxton , being unhittable ... not any more ...in fact, he has lost his job...just more of the mysterious happenings with that ESPN loved team... If you haven't been reading about the gang lord fights in Mexico , maybe you should...today, 4 people were found hanging from a bridge, headless...we tend to think that stuff happens like that far away from the US border...not anymore... Yes, I got out to Del Mar yesterday...won some $ as I cashed every single race...now that doesn't happen much... The Pads ...

The Pads lose game number two at Milwaukee ...hey, that's a good team, that has nothing to lose...good hitters that have done well at their home...think we came out flat after sweeping the Cubbies ...as they say, take 'em one game at a time...need better pitching from our starters...we have been scoring runs...just a lot of one liners that pretty much say what Buddy better be saying to his troops... The latest stuff out of the golf world is the application of rules and DQ'ing the players ...the latest is the legend, Julie Inkster ...in a delay on her 10th hole, she was getting stiff.. .took out a donut and swung it ...a viewer called in and voila...the rules dicks said that was illegal...waited until she finished the round, then DQ'd her...shoulda known better...but garbage rules nonetheless... NFL . ..got no problem with the exhibition games, but... charging full tilt for them ...and, most include 'em on the season package...that is what is wrong...had access...
