We finally started watching the series, Downton Abbey ...it has been getting raves so we wanted to see what the fuss was all about...almost shut it off after 5 minutes...glad we didn't...grew and grows on you...story line is cool...set up in 1912...the only thing, is that the Brits have dang hard lingo to follow...got through two episodes...thank you Netflix ...streaming through my iPad , through the Apple TV ...ha ha...what?... There goes another loss for the Lake Show ...growing to 6...at home...to OKC (Supersonics)...no match and no pity...really...well, it's fun to watch them lose...when does Kobe go off?...it's going to happen...speaking of the Sonics, there is big time talk about the Kings of Sac relocating in Seattle...the Maloofs want to sell...the City of Sac wants to keep 'em...the Emerald City wants a team...stay tuned...last I looked, the euphoric PDX Blazers, fresh off a win over the Heat, were getting mauled in Oakland...NBA... NFL games today...sh...

All you rabid anti-Clipper fans , you had your night last night...as the mighty PDX Blazers got a huge win at home versus the hated Heat of Miami ...yup, the LeBron led group from Florida... Portland got very good efforts from 4 of their starters and won it at the end...duh...at the end...and much to my surprise, are actually playing better D...their PG Lillard is a lock for ROY...and Batum is a force with his long arms and solid play... Aldridge is still soft...sorry kids, but it's true...if he is in the mix by the hoop, it's purely by accident...OK...it puts the Blazers in the discussion for the playoffs...way ahead of the Lake Show ...who, if you listen to the scribes, are going to correct themselves and take over for Portland ...ha ha...no way...so enjoy the win... What does it mean to a golf T if the one and only Tiger Woods commits to it?...it is said to boost the attendance up 30%...I think that is under value...more like 50%...as he did so for the upcoming...

Finally, FINALLY , the Washington REDSKINS are debating about changing their name...what?...I've gone through this probably 5 times in the last 4 years...the reasoning and all...don't get me wrong here...there are some Native Americans who actually like the name...really?...keeps the public aware of the origins of the people, in a rather crude way...regardless, it is time and I welcome the change...no idea what will be the new one...or if it actually happens... The country got to see the Clips play on ESPN last night...and for three quarters it was a typical NBA game...boring and full of a bloating season mistakes...however, in the 4th stanza, the Clippers showed up!...and took it to the Dallas Mavericks...this is for the NBA fans, their star, Nowitski, is a far cry from his dominant days...suffers from Pau's disease, concrete feet...LA has another streak going, 13 at home... CPIII had another wonderful outing and is in the conversation about MVP... Sounds funny...

If I told you that the best pre-season conference in the land was the Mountain West , would you think I was crazy?...and you PNWers , you know it isn't your conference... BUT. ..look at these gaudy numbers and you'll see what I mean...these are the records of the top teams in the MWC ...ready? Wyoming 13-0 SDSU 12-2 UNLV 12-2 New Mexico 13-2 Colorado St 12-2 Boise St 12-2 and lowly Air Force 8-4 See what I mean? If there ever was a better time to warrant a playoff in the BCS , it was this year...what an abomination of an effort by the Irish ...as they got destroyed by 'Bama ... the Ducks would have been a great opponent for the title game...after whupping the other possibility, KSU ...congrats to the Crimson Tide ...as their clear domination over the last 4 years in the BSBCS can't be denied...on the other hand, the clear discrepancy of the mysterious "computer rankings" has warped all semblance of respectability ...having ND as high as they were...

I guess that Philly couldn't offer him enough to bolt to the Eagles ...so for now... Chip Kelly is still a Duck ...I am real surprised...it seems to me...the only thing he has to do is win the BSBCS title...and his returning team has a great shot at it... BUT ...every once in a while a bloke comes along that should try his hand at bigger and harder things...I think he should give it a go...could be that the available choices are not a good fit and he'll wait...yet another season... the Duck side of the state of Oregon let out a big sigh of relief...you KNOW what the other side said...and it wasn't pretty...
