Tiger!

Image
Emerging from the pack out at the Farmer's was none other than the one and only Tiger Woods ...captivating the masses with precision playmaking...and is the only pro at double digits under after 36 holes...we got to see him at 4 holes...the weather was OK at first, but tumbled to Oregon type of rain later in the day...so, we got out of there...most of the crowd was following him...he looked good, he looked on, and he was...one huge stat...he wins 83% of the time when he is leading at the half way point...what?... The others...quietly, playing with Tiger, was the very nice play of Rickey (don't call me Rick) Fowler ...who matched Wood's 7 under on the North... Lefty , fresh from refiguring his taxes, collapsed to one under, and barely, I mean barely, survived the cut...there are a lot of tiny little pros out there...not one of those, was Lumpy ...who hooked a drive at 3 and let out an expletive...we were within 10 feet of the tee...very cool position... Daly was in ...

Thursday AM

Good Thursday morning!... The Farmer's Insurance Open starts up out at Torrey Pines today...full field of blokes and it will be fun... Tiger , Lefty , Bubba , and on and on...the weather has been splendid up until now...it's going to be dropping the wet stuff...my son is coming down from SB and we will get on out tomorrow...fugget about watching Woods much, as his throng of fans are like 80% of the entire lot...we'll get him a hole or two...the big deal is how far these blokes hit it...their 3 wood is over 300 yds...imagine...look for us on the tele tomorrow... I don't know if you get to see the Lake Show as much as we do...every game...so probably not...but... they are on that free fall of disaster ...losing again...this time to Memphis ...who courts Pao's bro, Marcus ...and the former Jail Blazer, Zbo ...he still jumps like always...2 inches of spring...ha ha... anyway, LA lost the game and Dwight Howard ...he injured his shoulder again...this is a huge...

Downton Abbey

Image
No series has captured our minds as much as the PBS one, "Downton Abbey" ...insomuch as we bought the entire 2nd season...and watched 7 episodes in 2 nights...if you haven't got into it, I must ask you to do so...set in the mid 1910's...start at the very beginning and do it right... Tough day for the LA teams on the hardwood...as the Clips fell to the Warriors, and lost the series to 'em...the only team that has the Clips number...and the Lake Show continues it's free fall, this time to the Bulls...it wasn't that long ago that the Laker Mgt. thought that changing the coach would be the ticket...ha ha...it's not that...they have picked up bad pieces over the last 3 years... Lefty tried hard to rescind his taxes and golf combo...yesterday...somebody must have got to that guy...as his comments made him look like a very rich guy, that was fed up...not too smart for a bloke who is adored by the common man... I finished off the book on the JFK t...

The Har Bowl

Image
I mentioned that it COULD HAPPEN ...but the long shot Ravens were a stretch...especially playing in New England...but, lordy, the Pats D was turrible...just turrible...and made the Balt QB Flacco look like  Joe Willie...nevertheless, the Ravens earned it...and now they play...the 49ers! ...who made a huge comeback in Atlanta and got their ticket in the Super Bowl ...interesting that both visitors won yesterday...so much for the home crowd advantage... brothers Harbaugh lead each of the combatants...first time that has ever happened...and...my bet is still alive!... go SF! You ever wonder... how they could ever call a holding penalty on the O line? ...it looks like they hold on every play...especially passes...so why then do they pick one out to do so?...I know it's a business and all...but...or trying to differentiate between offensive and defensive pass interference... The book I'm reading on the JFK assassination ...it's a novel, but it sure seems plausible...get ...

Real Hoops

Image
The way I think it should be played...this game of basketball has emerged as no more than pick up hoops...dribble, dribble, dribble...pass...dribble, dribble, dribble...find screen...dribble, then shoot...repeat...gone is the beauty of the game...the constant movement and passing of the ball...sometimes where the ball never touches the floor...finally, I saw some exceptions to this...could be the teams are together a bit longer and the coaches can teach it...Ohio St/MSU was a beaut...both of them with purpose and in sync...what a stunner in Indiana, as previously mentioned in an earlier blog, the Butler Bulldogs, beat Gonzaga at the buzzer...great game...even, Colorado and WSU showed promise...c'mon guys, do your thing and get this game BACK to where it used to be... NBA...the Clips win again...not easily...as they continue their sluggish play...perfect example of extreme talent, that gets bogged down when it comes to movement of players...CPIII has such an impact on what they do...
