Such an odd few days for many reporters throughout the land... the NBC bloke , who falsified his helicopter remembrances...the tragic death of the CBS guy in a car crash...there is a local sports anchor , who was tragically shot in his car outside his home... the View has one of their hosts up and quit... John Stewart surprises all and gives his notice on his show... the list is growing... More benign stuff... the All Star Game ...NBA...there are so many blokes going down, it will be a huge chance for those snubbed to get to step up...and be on the main stage... not sure why there is an 8 day layover ...seems too long to me... James Shields , the newly acquired stud for the Pads...had his press conference to the SD pundits and reporters...he's a quality guy...and articulate...unlike some...and it's another huge building block for this team ...hip hip hooray!... Spent quite  a bit of time discussing the state of the PGA ...players, rules, and the like...and the one thing that stands out... the stars of the past are just that...past. ..and trying to figure out who is the king pen is way hard...at least from this country...the best are from other areas...it's probably Rory ...and after that?...so many blokes are close...as the tour moves up the coast line to Pebble Beach... I know it's just me, but you can have that place and the highly renowned Bandon Dunes...too cold and windy for moi ...I am of the heat... Prez O is asking for ground troops for the middle east...hmmm...here we go again...the military is saying that's the only way to eradicate those heathens... I'm OK with this if the rest of the world joins in ...knowing the "new" Congress, this should pass...and away we go... It cost a pretty penny to catch the DWTS Concert ...and it started with a lot of promise...with t he past season's champ, Carleton, and his pro doing a bit and dance ...the crowd erupted...and it was all down hill from there...oops...as there were but 5 pros of any notoriety...and only one, count it, 1...pseudo star ...just Carleton...who did the moderator thing throughout the show... missing were the likes of Cheryl Burke and Derek Hough ....the "real stars" of the event, I would think...anyway, it cost way too much for the product rendered...and I'd give it a "D" ...for disappointing... Not really sure what is bigger...the Farmer's or the Padres this morning...so I'll give them equal billing... Last year, Horse made a bold prediction that the player of the year in the PGA Tour was going to be Jason Day ...Aussie ...then he banged up his thumb and was out for most of the season...well... HE'S BACK! ...as he emerged out of the logjam at the top of the Farmer's ...in a  4 man playoff...took the title on the 2nd hole...and voila!...he's the guy to watch out for this year... I thought JB Holmes could have won it outright...and with his length on the par 5 18th, he chose to lay up rather than go for it ...parred...and settled in to the 4 way thinger...be who you are, big guy... The Pads have reportedly won the rights to the top notch pitcher James Shields ...a 4 year deal...that puts us on the same level as the hated Bums and the ever efficient SF Giants...our rotation is solid...and gives us the BIG that the others have...ah, I am SO EXCITE...

Morning kids...how is your life treating you?...got to play some golf with my son out at Sycuan yesterday...and there is nothing better than that...his achilles has mended well... and shows no sign of limping...very cool...he's worked hard at rehabbing it...and we pushed our carts for the 18 holes...great workout in 80* heat...now the golf itself, not so much... this is a pix from Maui... Harrison English is one of the dudes in the mix...the golf pundits have been touting him for some time...could be he'll finally break through this season...by the way, Torrey is a great venue...hard and long for the players...but great for viewing... Tiger and Lefty? ...passed in the night...these blokes are over...way over...sorry, but it's true... In a day of college hoops upsets, the Kentucky Wildcats did not falter...gosh, they have all the elements of a champ team...strength, size, and solid guard play...and they can do...
