Irony

Write about it...and then, unbeknown to me...watch it in action...albeit a fictional tale...on Netflix...The House of Cards...strong arming...lobbyism...lying...cheating...deep throating (!)...snorting...drinking...revenge...what's not to like?...well, Marsh doesn't dig it...me?...it's a fun time...I have a lot to catch up on...Kevin Spacey is dang good...

Lordy!...we had the storm of storms...high winds...like funnel type...wild sheets of water...the only time I have seen the like down here...a story on the news, where a long time bloke, said it was the only occurrence for 50 years...we had a broken outside lamp...one of our neighbors, had his glass table top pulled up and shattered...see, PNWers, we have weather, too...I canceled my golf today...as it is said to have one more blast go through around noon...

Saw the bloody Ducks near disaster the other nite at UCLA...they found a way to equate themselves to a team that was sitting their two top players for discipline reasons...blowing a 7 point lead in the final minute...and yet, yes Scotty, still winning in 2 OT's...they are playing better...but they must be the dumbest set of blokes out there....their stars are all transfers...which means?...

It's on the road season for the Sycuan golfers...as there are two trips planned...one in Vegas which I go to...and am debating the one to Borrego...would have to get back in time to meet up with Cliffy on the same day...it really is fun...

Oh my, the start of the Cactus League for the Pads is...awful...I know, they are playing a few of their good guys...but are having a huge problem scoring...my bugaboo for this team...be patient Crazy Horse...it's a long road...

Back to the weather...we were out in it yesterday...took Marsh to an appt...and the driving was like going through snow....ha ha...limited vision...really...

WAR...what is it good for?...absolutely nothing...huh...as the region in the border of Russia...the Ukraine...will get it...another example of bloodshed...and death...so sad...and don't look too far away...the violence in Venezuela...continues to go on...they need a stronger line of lobbyism, apparently...

Is it just me, or does the Golf Channel spend all their time on Tiger?...as he barely made the cut...I for one, would love to see him play like he can....as the best golfer of this generation...but...there are peops out there who have this thing of watching him fail...odd, really...what you need to be watching is...is Rory back?...if so, he will figure in the Masters...this is big...as I need to find 5 who will be ready...Tiger and Lefty (missed cut again) are not...

Waffles and scrambled eggs...that's on the menu this am...sound good to you?...

Lobbyism

Nothing makes me blood boil more than the system of undue influence that is allowed in this "free" country of ours...the trail of tears is locked into the path of the money used to coerce a vote out of OUR elected officials...OK, you may call me names, but go ahead....DISAGREE with me...this idea of "buying a vote" has been going on long before you or I have inhabited this earth...so you think that I am just generalizing the problem...I got locked into an argument about this about 5 years ago with one of Marsha's broker bosses...and his reply was to get into it....that was the way this whole thing works...that if you want change, be a part of it first...interesting...sell yourself out...

No better example than what has been going on in DC right now...the TV cable company Comcast wishing to buy out another (Time Warner) and become a mega giant in the industry...of course, to get the votes (lawmakers and regulators) to allow the procedure, they call upon their team of people in their LOBBYIST department....and call on the Northrop Grumman Co. to lead their "battle"...and last year, they invested a mere...wait...$18.8 MILLION...on the company...to target the regulatory approval for a $45.2 BILLION deal to buy Time Warner Cable...what?...a negligible amount for the grand prize...are you rowlfing yet?...

Comcast has more than 100 lobbyists....including two former senators (another story), three retired house reps (repulsive) and an ex-Fed Communications Commission Member...leading their charge on the hill...and these blokes find ways to "give" money to Super Pacs, filtrate $ to charities that benefit targeted certain Congress types...and on and on...what do you think the lobbyists do?...if you are a former Congressional member, don't you think that you just may have an inside track to others in the same biz?...yea, right...

I laugh at the the notion that on the local level, that there are limits to anything that a, let's say, lender, can give to a realtor...or buy a lunch...ha ha...as there are none whatsoever on the highest level...they all find ways to get around it...have I ever told you, I trust NO POLITICIAN...

When their time is up, they continue to work...as a lobbyist...and at a higher rate of $ earned...

Yes.   There is NOT going to be a change in how the rich and powerful are doing things...to govern us, the masses...thank goodness we have change every 4 years....I guess...but the ground swell of the real people need to heed this warning...and set major limits upon the top tier of lobbying...do as they should do...not as they give us in their trickle down...

OK, get yourself into a frenzy...go ahead and read up on the latest venture on money laundering...Super Pacs...you and I can only complain...maybe it's what we should be doing...
Someday...

Foetid

This could be the worst of all...American Idol finalists...13...and I rated each of the performances...from 1 to 10...1 being bad...and get this...I had 3 acts of the lowest of all ratings...yup, that awful...a 7, two 6's, two 5's, and the rest...well perfectly miserable...any of these kids worthy of the likes of Carrie or Kelly?...far from it...and we are highly debating even watching the rest...seriously...like I have said before, there is a bunch of these type of shows and the talent pool seems to be drying up...

The Bachelor...oh my...he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer...and the gal attorney, she is way too smart for this bloke...and walked away...and when she was telling him why, he was dumbfounded...er, dumb....as she said, "he doesn't get it"....ha ha...he will go for the nurse...and the other one will go on a terror streak...something tells me that nothing is going to work out...no lurve everlasting...by the way, all the leaks are that the attorney is the new Bachelorette....

Hey I shot my age yesterday!...lucked out as the weather was fine...and today?...the bloody and much needed rain is upon us...supposed to be a 4 day affair...oh, by the way, I am 91 now...

Jan Brewer...Guv of Arizona...caved and vetoed the anti-gay serving bill...what century are we in?...as things have progressed so much, Arizona wants so badly to stay in the 50's...we all go to church on Sundays...pay our 10% of our income to the pulpit...close all businesses on the day of the Sabbath...and put all the people of color in their right places...wherever that is...3 wheels on my wagon, the Cherokees are after me...

How can an NBA team lose by 44?...I mean a competent, talent ladened group?...not the bloody 76ers...but the highly heralded Nets...to a PDX team that has two of their top inside guys out?...odious...

The new version of Survivor has begun...and none other than fan fav Blazer, Cliffy Robinson, is on it...seems like a good bloke...time well tell...it was a good 2 hr start...

Fallon continues to produce...I tape it and we laugh...he's funny and delivers...

And the rains continue to fall....

Homophobia

Just when you thought you have seen it all...I was flipping through the channels and landed on CNN...and watched an interchange between host Anderson Cooper and a state senator out of Arizona...wait a minute, I know you know where this is going...as this bloke, Al Melvin, is a supporter of a gay bill...which allows the non-serving of said people, due to religious beliefs...what?...I can't make this up...so paraphrasing...with a twist...if you are a conservative, somehow you think that it's your right to refuse to deal with gay peops...right?...anyway, Anderson gave him the Q of what would you do if the situation came up...big Al wouldn't answer...claiming that Anderson was trying to trick him...is this wrong in every way?...

The Knicks lost a game to the Mavs...not that this is that earth shaking...but...the crowd in NY was really into it...what?...they are one of the bottom teams out there...but every game is a new one...in the City...which, in fact, is real cool....anyway, they lost it on a buzzer beater by the big fella, Dirk Nowitzki...a luck bag shot that banked and then hit the front of the rim and then banged around and in...footnote....in the aftermath...the Knick PG, Felton, got arrested later that night for 3 counts of gun possession....what?...how many does he need?...

Just received the Swimsuit Edition of SI...well...I read it for the articles...wait, there are some in there, right?...that Kate Upton, she is quite a sportswoman...ballet?...

The Bachelor...it always gets a bit awkward when the bloke goes to meet the parents and or the family of the top 4...not sure how I would handle it...one of the dads was not sold on Juan Pablo... I picked the top 3...and the Asst DA, she will drop out...and leave the two blondes (?)...me thinks they are both bottle blondes...ha ha...as if...the nurse will get the final rose...ah, young lurve....

Batten down the hatches (?)...as the rain is finally coming our way...as much as 4 to 6 inches...what?...which means that you PNWers will be getting the sun....is this real?...or another hoax?...well...I see the wind patterns and it does look like the impending wet stuff...will happen...and it is snowing on the east coast...what spring?...

Did you see the final of Downton Abbey?...a great show...and I am surprised that it only went 9 episodes...Bates!...

So, I tape the Tonight Show...I just can't make it that late...what?...it's the way I can stay with it...so far...he is very, very good...clever, energetic, and A+...Jimmy Fallon...

My son actually worked his shift yesterday...4 days after his achilles surgery...what?...I can not tell you how proud and amazed of him, I am....unbelievable...

I've been searching the release date of the iPhone 6...can't find the hint anywhere...so I will keep my 4s until it is out...supposed to have a bigger screen and better camera...and you thought it was just for talking...

As usual, I have no clue as to whom to pick for the Big Dance...I am starting earlier than normal...to find a pattern to follow...it's a bloody crap shoot...don't think that it's 'Cuse...or Florida...or...just don't know...

I am NOT a fan of the NFL combines...where the potential draftees get themselves all amped up and perform in front of all the NFL blokes...in lieu of what they did in college...I would not show up and do this...figure for most guys, it is a blow...I suppose if you are a long shot, it would be of benefit...

Have you signed up for a direct link to my blog yet?...you can get it sent automatically to your email each and every day...just follow the link that I have posted...it works and you get it on your phone....that is, if that's what you want...it really is cool...the process, that is...

Wooah, the fall of SDSU...geez, 'Zona loses a couple of times and they are still in the top 10...the Aztecs lose once and off the charts they go...talk about NO RESPECT!...it's the MWC syndrome...

Be cool...

Parity

This is more about the match than the winner...and the longevity of it...took 22 holes to get a winner....in Tucson...PGA Match Play...as Jason Day finally got the W...and secured his spot as a favorite for the season...to be THE GUY...pat myself on the back...as Crazy Horse did this back a bit...but...my passion and tribute goes to the guy who lost...Frenchman Victor Dubuisson...who made so many miraculous shots that it was hard to say which was the best...showing a marvelous short game...and is but 23 years of age...this is a sport that it takes a bit more maturity to win the big events...

The Winter O's came to a close last eve...outside of the hockey games, I am not interested...sorry you extreme patriots...it's just not my thang...

The Blazers...with Aldridge still sitting...the new guy in his place is a player...like a defender and rebounder...Thomas Robinson...had like 17 boards and an ESPN feature block...STILL...if they don't hedge the screens they are done...even the TV commentators are talking about this...as Mike Rice said, that all the good teams defend the pick and roll differently....c'mon PDX staff, you can't be that stubborn...oh yea, they beat the Love led Wolves...

OK, I give up...tell me...who the hell can explain why...oh why...the stock market is rolling along in a positive way?...c'mon...you are smart people, right?...

The republicans can't name their guy, but they are already spending $ on thrashing Hillary...

CNN is firing the show of Piers Morgan...who gives us a candid look at the news and policies of the nation...but...you can still see the monumental happenings of the Kardashians...who have had their comedy extended...it is a comedy, right?...

And finally...Dancing With The Stars is following the lead of CNN...and firing key parts of their presentation...the band?...fired!...the lovely Brooke Burke?...fired!...what?...and replaced her with the screeching sound of Erin Andrews...what?...if they want some improvement, fire their 3 clowns of judges...boooooooooo....

Boogaloo down Broadway....

Spewed

You think that D-1 hoops isn't full of pressure?...think again...as a donnybrook of a game was going on between the top ranked (former) Syracuse Orange (real clever) and the Duke Blue Devils...at the Duke court...where they are known for the Cameron Crazies...out of control, yet, in unison student body...a humongous home court advantage...and forget the coaches of the teams are the most decorated of all still in the game...and forget that the game is down to the last 11 seconds...and forget that the Orange is driving to the hoop to tie up the game...and forget that the ball went into the hoop...and forget that the biggest flopping team in the entire nation is Duke...but do remember this...the ref had a game ending block/charge call to make...do remember where the game is...the ref called a charge, and thus, negated the hoop...and then...mister, calm, cool, collected, Orange Coach, Jim Boeheim, went absolutely ballistic!...ah memories...runs out on the court...flailing his arms about like a hyena...they do, don't they?...and gets 2 technicals fouls and is ejected...and the game is over...this is as visual as I can get...you'll see it today...all over the land...I
must say, it's the toughest call to make in hoops...flop?...or real?...regardless of that, Coach Jim had to be booted...and so it goes...think there's no pressure?...by the way, the 1st time he had ever...I mean EVER..been ejected...

The most fun of all tourneys in the PGA is the match play event in Tucson...last year it actually snowed...what?...throw out that Tiger and Lefty aren't in it...it's still a beaut...and the guy that is impressing me...and knocking off real, like better than him, pros...none other than the now hairless (er, less hair) Puma promoter, Rickie Fowler...what?...he's a hack!...well, the kid went and changed up and got a new coach...and a new swing...it's sweet, kids...and he's moving on up...plays Jason Day (one of my favs for a super year) in the semis...

Must give you news about my son's surgery...so far, splendid...as he has the achilles spliced together and is progressing so well...a top notch doctor...and we'll see how it goes the next couple of days...this old billy goat may be going back if needed...by train...hate the drive...

SDSU lost...at the Pit...New Mexico...geez, they play great D...but the O is lacking...I really thought that they would pick up that part of their game up...it is tough to win on the road in the Mountain West...especially at the Pit...and go figure...Billy Grier's USD finally got a win against his old team...Gonzaga...I keep telling you....he coaches the heck out of that team...they just aren't gifted with a lot of talent...anyway, it broke an 11 game streak to the Zags...congrats!...

Did watch the US in their hockey...gals and guys...it's fun, isn't it!...fast paced and loads of action...no brawls....dang...so much better than soccer...but...the Americans were not victorious...

So Entertainment Weekly did a review of the Miley Cyrus Concert....which means they must have gone to it...and this is one man's opinion...gave it an "A"...what?...so who exactly would go to this?...teeny boppers?...I doubt it...guys?...maybe...she is kind of gross...gals?...???...older folks other than her parents?...none, I would imagine...eegads, go figure...

Disturbing sign out of Padre land...our mystery man...our 3B Chase Headley...came to spring training using crutches...seems that he pulled something...and is out 2 weeks...this is after he said he was feeling fit and trim and ready to make up for last year's debacle...hmmm...

Have a nice Sunday, kids...
